If I have an excess left in my DVA and I request it, will they mail me a single Disney Gift Card with the balance on it. I only apply gift cards to my account.

Now, I have each and every gift card that I have put in there and will also be keeping future ones, but I can't imagine going through 30-40 gift cards trying to figure out which ones have the excess on them.

You don't have to keep the gift cards you load in the account. They will send you a new gift card with your balance on it. I requested $1,000 last year and was sent 2 $500 gift cards.

I thought we went over this already. Refunds are sent back to their original cards. Gift cards issued from DVA are limited to $1,000 per 90 days.

Don't recall going over this already, but glad you chimed in! I will continue in keeping all my cards and if I have to track down my money on each card, I will.

The question you asked is specifically addressed in the DVA rules and FAQ which I pasted below and you stated that you did not want to keep track of 30-40 cards. Therefore, as I already stated, you do not have to keep the gift cards you load into your account and can just have a new gift card sent to you that you purchase with your balance. However, if you'd like to have it refunded to the original cards, then you can certainly keep track of all those cards and figure out which cards now have a balance on them as was suggested by the other poster. Having $1000 sent via two gift cards was a much better way to go for me and why I advise others of such. I would never ask for a refund to the original cards or suggest others do it either when there is a much more logical solution. To each their own!

What if I have funds left over in my Disney Vacation Account after I've paid for my Disney vacation?
If you have a remaining balance in your Disney Vacation Account after you've paid for your Disney vacation, you can start planning your next Disney vacation! Simply leave the remaining balance in your account, estimate the savings Goals for your next trip and create a new savings plan.

Or, you can use your remaining balance to purchase a Disney Gift Card (subject to limitations— get details) for use during your trip at locations where Disney Gift Cards are accepted. A Disney Gift Card can be requested in a value ranging from a $5 minimum to a $1,000 maximum every 90 days.

Or, you can request a full refund.
