Has anyone tried to pay their dues through their DVA account this year?

Can we even pay dues yet this year?

It worked last year if you told them it was a gift card. I can't see any reason it would be different this year.

I read that it worked for some people, but I don't think it qualifies to towards the $20 gift card.

I couldn't remember if it counted towards the $20 gift card. We didn't have a DVA account last year. I wanted to check before I loaded giftcards into my account.

I paid last year with my DVA. I didn't get the $20 gc per every $1000 spent for that. I know others had posted that they received the bonus.

For us, our dues are more than the gc limit accepted by accounting. So if I want to pay everything with gc, DVA is the only way to do so.

I don't think MA will take dues payments until after the new year.

I just looked and my dues are listed on my account. So I am guessing you could go ahead and pay online or at least call MS to make a payment.

I guess as long as DVC accepts the DVA gift card there is no downside and maybe we would be lucky enough to get the $20 bonus.

You can use your DVA account to pay dues. I just completed my call with Member Accounting and it worked. Just tell them you are paying by GiftCard.

How soon after paying do you think we would know if it qualifies for the $20 back? I would use my DVA account if I knew it would qualify for it.

More than $5000 in dues?
Smaller gift cards can now be transferred into a single card online at DisneyGiftCard.com. Up to $1000 per card.

I have two contracts. I may try paying the smaller one with the DVA account and the larger one with my Disney gift cards which I combined. I would rather not load my gift cards in my DVA since I know some people had issues with that in the past. I funded mine with my miles credit card to get airline miles.

Not the poster you asked, but yes - ours are more than $5,000 and I planned on trying to put all my GCs into my DVA and pay over $5,000.

I also used my DVA account to pay dues. I told them I would be using Giftcard. She asked how much, when I said all, she automatically put in $1,000 and asked for second card. I went ahead and gave another card # with insufficient fund. I called back an hour later, give the DVA # again to pay the balance.

I also requested the bonus from my DVA account and seem to went through.

Are you saying they won't process more than $1,000 for one "gift card number"? I was able to pay my full dues last year with the DVA, it was more than $1000. Now I'm worried it won't go thru! And were you able to pay part of your dues and call back? I thought it was all or nothing.

Yes. Addontitis tends to strike repeatedly and for prolonged periods.

No, there is a gift card transfer limit at DisneyGiftCard.com
But not DVA

I'M guessing that the CM used $1,000 because that is the limit when you combine GC's.

You don't have to pay it all in a single call. I also have paid part in previous years and called back to pay the rest.

That is right, GC limit is $1,000. That is why I did not correct her when she asked me if it is $1,000. I did not want her to know I am using DVA.
I actually thought about creating a separate DVA to pay the amount beyond $1,000 but decide against it. Since I already told her I was paying all, I just gave her a card with insufficient fund as 2nd card when she asked. The DVA went through, the GC with insufficient fund did not. (Yes, I did a partial payment) I then called back an hour later to tell her I transferred the $ to the GC that works and gave her the DVA # again

I don't know if all of them ask the amount to put in the GC. I don't know if it matter if I would have told her to charge all to the DVA. But she seems to know the max for GC should only be $1,000 so I didn't want to take a chance.

I am a little confused. Do you need to request a GC from the DVA and then use this to pay dues or just tell MS you are paying by GC and they look up your DVA info?

You just tell them you are paying with a gift card and they process it just by the numbers. There is nothing that they look up with DVA.
