there is even MORE dust! The darned thing doesn't work half as good as the cheap ones. My dog won't even drink fresh water that I put down in the morning for him b/c it is covered by a layer of dust by mid-afternoon. :o

That's awful. I wonder why it makes it more dusty

What type? And you're sure it's set up right?

I know some friends who tried a Honeywell filter and forgot to put the prefilter on. It didn't work right, needless to say. :)

We have 4 Honeywell filters and they do a great job of keeping the dust down at our house

You should consider moving. :) Part of the reason I love living here in South Carolina is because the house doesn't get dusty very fast, and I can't stand dusting. I used to live in the Dallas area and had to dust at least once a week. I had to dust more often if there was company coming--weekly was just enough to preserve my own sanity. Now I don't even know how often I have to dust. I probably dust about every week and half because it seems funny to not do it, but I can't even usually see where I'm dusting because there's not enough there to wipe off.

I got a new furnace about 6 years ago and had an electronic air cleaner installed in it at the same time. With a Labrador Retriever in the house you can hear it going to work when a clump of dog hair hits it. It makes a zapping noise like one of those electronic bug killers! I have to clean the filter about once a month with a dog in the house.
