Dumb Annual Pass Question

DB and I are looking into getting AP's sometime this year, and are pretty much set on the FL resident Seasonal Pass. I just have a quick, and probably stupid, question.

When do they become active? When I buy them, or the first time we use them? It would be a lot easier to buy them soon and start paying them off with the monthly payments, but we probably won't actually GO until at least October. I'm just worried if we buy them now then don't go for a few months, that will be a waste of money because all those days in-between will count toward the year of use-ability.

My mom bought hers 2 months ago, and our trip is the end of Sept/early Oct. It's good to have it early because you can enter your code into MDE and book your FP's(60 days if you're staying on property). We will activate it the first day we go in the parks.

You can also activate them at any ticket window, not just Guest Services. The ticket window lines are often much shorter.
