The only thing surprising about this thread is that there are this many people who still don't get their stance on children and birth control. They've been pretty clear on their beliefs.

The Duggar family believes that if God didn't want them to have any more children that He will prevent it.I love the Duggar family and watching their show. And really, I have never seen or heard anything from the children that is out of the ordinary - but I suppose they could edit that out of the TV show.
At some point, the Duggar couple should realize that God did not intend for them to keep having children but to care for the ones that they do have. Perhaps they need counseling on natural birth control methods if they don't want to interfere by using condoms, etc. So what is the record for live births in the Guinness book? Maybe they are trying to break that record or something. I wonder what their children think of the news? If it was me, I would be crying if I was one of the older ones because they are the ones that take care of the younger ones.![]()
Maybe Grandma and Grandpa should adopt their titles and stop trying to be super mom and dad. Okay, now I'm getting mad at the Duggar family and I said I liked them, but I guess you can like someone without agreeing with their choices.![]()
I agree. Many women stay at home and raise their kids regardless of how many or how few they have. Full time stay at home moms with one, two, three kids are not unheard of!
On another note, I have a friend with 8 kids (there's one set of twins, ages range from 18 to 2 yo) and she and her husband both work full time jobs. Go figure.
Don't agree with this. Why does she not have common sense? Just because you wouldn't want 20 children doesn't mean those that do don't have common sense. Would I want 20 children. Absolutely not! But, I think it is Michelle's (and everyone else's) right to decide how many they want. Again, I have no place judging the decisions of others. At some point, you'd think common sense and self preservation for Michelle would kick in.
Obviously, that hasn't happened yet.

I get it. I just don't believe it. I believe she's mentally ill.
Yeah ... He almost prevented it with the last baby because Michelle almost died. Is almost dying not a huge enough sign that maybe God doesn't want you to have more? The Duggar family believes that if God didn't want them to have any more children that He will prevent it.

Are they that well-behaved? I don't watch the show anymore. I did see them on Say Yes to the Dress, and they were awful. Granted, little kids in a bridle shop can get antsy. But, when my kids were young they WERE able to behave, and if they didn't, I removed them from the situation. Lots of times when I've seen these kids, they seem a bit out of control.I don't care how well-behaved and decent and Godly that family is,
Children's Services needs to start stopping by for suprise visits.
Why??? I don't agree with their choices and lifestyle, but they're not abusive.
How many kids ago? I think I might have been one of them. I guess when it comes down to it, my opinion or not about their choices, I would defend their right to them. You know, back in the day there were actually posters who defended the Duggar lifestyle. Where did they all go?
I've been a SAHM for 20 years now, and at this point, don't have ANY kids at home! Many women stay at home and raise their kids regardless of how many or how few they have. Full time stay at home moms with one, two, three kids are not unheard of!
But, I will soon need to be available for Grandma duty.
While the older kids are watching the younger children.I am just shaking my head because I don't know when they find the time to MAKE these babies.
True. And honestly, I don't (IMHO) think that they're just letting things happening; I think they're making sure it does. Again...JMHO.Here's a thought - how 'bout they stop "doing it"? Abstinence is the ultimate birth control.
They set up their home as a church for the tax deductions. I would consider that "mooching".They do not appear to be mooching off the system.
I think for them, she'll actually have to die. It appears that as long as she is capable of conceiving and carrying a child they will continue to procreate. It's truly disturbing.

Im sorry but she just doesn't know the difference between mothering and just giving birth. No one can convince me that these 19-20 kids have had a real mother. There is no way you can take care of this tribe and give these kids the attention they need when you 1) have to spread is around this many and 2) you are always pregnant.
I keep saying 20 in my head, but heck, after 19, what's one more? Geesh!
