OK, I gave the simplified description. Here's the more detailed description. Pre-eclampsia is caused by free radicals generated from the placenta. The placenta develops both from the uterus and the developing embryo. The free radicals then go on to oxidize angiotensinogen. Oxidized angiotensinogen causes the release of angiotensins which cause the high blood pressure which is characteristic of pre-eclampsia. This explanation was based on a study at Cambridge University published in Nature in October, 2010

I believe there is something mentally wrong with her. Look at all the attention she receives by popping out babies. She won't stop until she reaches menopause or she's dead.

I agree with you on both counts. She is a foolish woman and her husband a selfish man.

What really bothers me is the PRIDE that they have about the fact that she's pregnant again, as if that's some sort of wonderful feat when all they really did was ****.

She is definitely addicted to the attention of being pregnant.

I was just thinking that - she's already a grandmother, but by the time this baby has children she'll nearly 70.

She is probably closet to little Josie-if it was the longest time she went without being pregnant. They showed her a few times, not going along with the family so she could stay home to care for her.

This family needs mental help. She should be concentrating on making sure that josie is strong and healthy , not working on having another. Say what you will but this family is seriously disturbed. The father treats the women in that family like his own property , he probly order her to give him another child

As much as I absolutely detest the Duggars and I think having a disabled child wouldn't be any more than a minor speed bump for them. They would take it in stride.

Im sorry but she just doesn't know the difference between mothering and just giving birth. No one can convince me that these 19-20 kids have had a real mother. There is no way you can take care of this tribe and give these kids the attention they need when you 1) have to spread is around this many and 2) you are always pregnant.

I keep saying 20 in my head, but heck, after 19, what's one more? Geesh!

I don't think she likes to share the baby spotlight with her daughter in law.

I like the Duggar kids...they seem relatively normal despite their whacked out parents, and I don't really dislike Michelle, but I think she's an attention hound. Jim Bob gives me the major creeps though.

I can't be happy for them popping out number 20....it's just too many and I don't believe those kids get enough attention from mom and dad. It's just not possible with the sheer number of kids they have.

I had three c-sections and I would never call that fun.

When I saw this thread last night I knew that they were going to make an announcement that she would be expecting again. I always said they would go for 20 children. I guess they will just keep going until she dies trying.
