Ok. I love the Duggars, but I cannot say I'm happy for them. Not because of what happened to Josie, but because she is 45, she's had an average of 9 months between pregnancies for her body to rest. It's not good for her body.

I believe there is something mentally wrong with her. Look at all the attention she receives by popping out babies. She won't stop until she reaches menopause or she's dead.

I agree. I think I remember rumblings about the idea of "addicted to being pregnant" when that Nadia Suleman and her 8 came into the spotlight.

I feel really sorry for those children - getting lost in the shuffle like that.

That's the problem - her uterus is very weak. Josie was born very prematurely. Another pregnancy is dangerous for both mom and baby.

Josie was born premature because Michelle had pre-eclampsia not because she has a "weak" uterus.

She has lots of time for sex. Her older children do all the work and mothering.

As for your second paragraph, I couldn't agree with you more.

I guess that's where I went wrong. I should have had a quiverful of children to do all my work for me.

Didn't her OB at one time (two or three pregnancies ago) refuse to treat her anymore, due to her reckless pregnancies?

I think what happened with Josie is a great example of why she should have stopped when she did.

Look, I won't say anything bad about their lifestyle or how they raise the kids BUT how can she get pregnant again after the physical toll it took on her body?!? I mean, it seems to be really unhealthy for her to have another child. What if something happened to her and she wasn't able to take care of the children she has? They may not practice birth control but sometimes it is best to take some precautions in regards to the health of the mother.

I agree with you on both counts. She is a foolish woman and her husband a selfish man.

This. I'd love to see another engagement and I keep hoping that a courtship will happen with one of the Bates kids.

Josie was born premature because Michelle had pre-eclampsia not because she has a "weak" uterus.

OK, I gave the simplified description. Here's the more detailed description. Pre-eclampsia is caused by free radicals generated from the placenta. The placenta develops both from the uterus and the developing embryo. The free radicals then go on to oxidize angiotensinogen. Oxidized angiotensinogen causes the release of angiotensins which cause the high blood pressure which is characteristic of pre-eclampsia. This explanation was based on a study at Cambridge University published in Nature in October, 2010

Disgusting! That is the only thing to say. The ones who I feel sorry for are the children who aren't getting the quality parenting they deserve. They are being raised by siblings....not mom and dad. Sad thing is it appears the married son is following his parents example....two kids close together....wonder if the rest will follow suit.

My favorite part of the interview was when Ann Curry asked how in the world they afford all those kids and that moron dad shilled for some debt-counselor guy. Yeah...THAT'S why you can afford the kids...not the tv appearances, or show, or book deal or hand outs...
