I'll be in WDW 1st time in 3 days. I'd like to have dinner in DTD but I didn't make any reservation. I read some reviews and they says some restaurants are not good and some are very noisy. Does anyone recommend any restaurant in DTD for a family of 4 but not too expensive? Do I need reservation if I go at around 5pm?

Thanks!

I would recommend the Rainforest Cafe. As for a reservation I have found that if you arrive there just after 4:00 PM you will be seated right away, however you can always call them directly and make a reservation.

We went to Planet Hollywood. It is a really cool place. Reasonably priced. For the 4 of us it came to be around $70 with tip. Of course they take your picture and try to sell it to you for $20.... I am such a sucker :lmao: . Food is okay, your pretty much there cause its Planet Hollywood. We went around 6:00 and got right in.
Hope that helped a bit. Have fun!!;)

I'd always make a reservation - just to be safe, and my recommendations are the Earl of Sandwich & the Rainforest Cafe. The Rainforest Cafe is more expensive, but it's DELISH! :goodvibes

Don't forget that the Earl of Sandwich is a counter service location, so the OP would not have to worry about any reservations over there since they don't take them.

It depends on what you and your family like/expect from the dining experience. I notice that some responses recommend places that we would never go to. Doesn't make them bad choices, just not right for us.

Tell us something about your family's likes/dislikes, and any budget constraints, and we may be able to give you some better suggestions.

Planet Hollywood is great, great food, atmospere and House of Blues was awesome!!

(or a reservation) I'd suggest the Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace section of DTD. It is sort of a counter service "lite". You order your food at the counter, but it is brought to your table by a waiter on real plates etc.
The food is out of this world and it is DD's favorite counter service meal. Portions are large and you could easily share here. Also relatively inexpensive.

Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood, once you've been to one, you'v been to them all. I find their food mediocre and overpriced.

You took the words out of my mouth! Our RC experience on our last trip was not good at all...long wait, poor service and average (if that) food. I think Wolfgang Puck is a nice choice!

My family loved Raglan Road! We had an ADR for 6pm but were able to walk right in at 5 back in February. The show doesn't start until later in the evening so we had a nice relaxing meal. Ger's Bread & Butter Pudding is a must for dessert!

My favorite place to eat at DTD is Wolfgang Price Express. The food there is fantastic and fresh. It's considered a counter service, but the quality of the food is a lot better than most other counter service places. They have great salads, pizza, and pasta. It's a bit more expensive than most counter service places, but it's a lot cheaper than a sit down place.

I also vote for House Of Blues. You should be able to walk in most days without a reservation. If they have a show, band or it is Sunday brunch then you would need a reservation.

I'd love to try something new so I am fine with anything. My kids just like pizza and pasta. They eat very little and I usually order 3 meals to share among 4 of us. My budget is not more than $80 including tax and tip.

I've been to Plant Hollywood and Rainforest Cafe in other cities before.

Thanks!

This sounds good to me and no reservation is required. Thanks!

Great - that helps. Since you've been to PH & RFC before you should probably write them off at WDW - they are no different. I'd second the mentions for Wolfgang Puck Express and House of Blues, although your children might have a problem there. BTW, be sure to check the menus for these places right here on the DIS at http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/diningmain.cfm

I would go with Raglan Road or House of Blues. I have eaten at Raglan Road and loved it. If you go for lunch it is fairly quiet. We went for lunch and there were maybe five other families there. I have not eaten at House of Blues but it gets good reviews.

My wife and I love Bongos it isn't on the dining plan but we still try to go at least once while we are down there for lunch..great food and not too spicy eventhough it is Cuban food. According to my wife to Plaintains are to die and she is Dominican so she knows a good plaitain when she sees one  lol for and I personally love the chicken and rice dishes.

I have a ADR for Raglan Road in September I am excited to try it.
