DTD Crowds - New Years Day?

Yeah yeah, Disney Springs...

Going to be out there from 12/31-1/3 and my thought was to hit Disney Springs on 1/1 for the afternoon thinking that'd be less crowded than the parks that day.

Anyone have experience with the crowds there that day?

We weren't there on New Year's Day, but we did spend New Year's Eve there. We walked up to Planet Hollywood (no reservation) and got a table for 4 at about 10pm and stayed for the countdown. It was super busy, but not so crowded that we couldn't get a table. I would think Magic Kingdom would be the really crowded park that day. Have fun!
