Is the DTD bus route as bad as I remember it? We took it back to our hotel once and it took nearly 2 hours.

How would you plan on getting from DTD to CR in the evening for a dinner reservation?

1. Yes.
2. Most of that time spent in WAITING for the bus to come.
3. The Contemporary Resort bus is the primary method, and
it just might work for you.
You never really know. It's all a matter of luck and timing.

Walk to Saratoga Springs resort and board the MK bus.
Walk to CR from the MK gates bus depot.

Or, take a cab. Figure $20-25, plus tip.

To make things even more of a challenge, with the parking construction at "Disney Springs", the 2nd bus stop near the old PI is out of commission. So your only option is to use the one stop all the way down at the SSR end of the strip. We saw Cirque on our recent trip and it was raining after the show was over, so we had to walk in the rain the WHOLE way back to the other end of the strip. That was a soggy march, even with ponchos and umbrellas.

Thanks for the maps!

I'll add to the group suggesting a cab. With only one bus stop and all the construction, taking the bus is a real pain and takes a lot longer than it used to by the time you walk to the stop, wait for the bus, negotiate all the traffic to leave the area, and finally get where you're going. There's a cab stand that's more centrally located than the bus stop and the travel time is much shorter that way.

In a way only having the one bus stop is a good thing as nothing annoyed me more than the bus having to go to the second bus stop by PI.When construction is complete theres only supposed to be one bigger stop by what is now PI.

Tune in tomorrow, same-time, for the conclusion of this post.

Done!! My tablet froze and somehow posted the incomplete post.Need to upgrade my tablet soon!!

They need to get those lights better coordinated by DTD, it's insane.

I usually do not advocate riding to SSR to get to DTD (Home resort, it's annoying that the seats get taken by people who spend the entire time bothering the driver about which stop is best for them to go to DTD. . .as if bus service to the resort isn't inadequate enough), but going FROM SSR to anywhere, go for it. You too can experience the joy that it is to watch two busses in a row arrive at a stop for the same destination.

This is one of the slowest buses around due to lower traffic to/fro here vs the parks. It's the longest wait but never took 45-1 hr it felt.

Weird, we have never had the problems that I am seeing mentioned here. 9 times out of 10 we use the Marketplace bus stops and I don't think we have ever, that's EVER, waited over 10 minutes for a bus. I understand that all the construction affects things, but before that even if we had a car we would generally ride the bus to DTD. If this entire thread is based on things since the construction started than please just ignore everything I said.

Each time we rented a car at DIS, we bypassed DIS transport and used the vehicle to get to DTD.

Again, it's not AWFUL, but it is a longer wait than MK/EPCOT/AK/DHS
