I would so very much like to ask that your prayers and pixie dust follow him as he is deployed this week. He reports tomorrow and leaves on Friday. First stop will be Camp Pendleton and the rest is unknown. All they have told him is that it will be for a minimum of a year. :(

A VERY LONG YEAR for those of us he's leaving behind...mom, dad, younger brother and 5 sisters.

{{{{hugs}}}}} and prayers

Best wishes and good thoughts to your son and his unit.

Also sending some official USMC DIS approved PD their way.

Prayers for your family. Semper Fi.

I will keep your DS and all who have been deployed in my thoughts and prayers. I pray they all stay safe {{{hugs}}}

Blessings of safety, Patty, for your boy and all his fellow soldiers. God speed them home as soon as possible. Our sincere thanks and gratitude for his and others' service.

Hugs,

Dan :sunny:

{{{HUGS}}} Patty, and prayers for safety for your son and for all our men and women serving in the armed forces.

Good thoughts & best wishes for him & your family.

Each day I hold my breathe a little bit more. My DH keeps insisting that his unit is an "undeployable unit". To which I reply, "It's the Army National Guard. If they need you, they are taking you." He's seen alot of deployed units come through his work (state headquarters) in the last 1.5 yrs. :( This is his full time job ---and part time weekends too.

We'll be thinking of you!

Absolutely TwinMom.. you have my prayers and my hopes that this is a short conflict and that your son comes home safely.. Please know that we are all here for you.. Hugs..

Prayers for peace and for your ds safety. I hope that he will remain stateside to possibly "fill in" for active duty Marines who are being sent to the Middle East. May I ask what is his MOS? (Job in the USMC)
Stay strong!
Joan

His MOS (job) is a heavy equipment operator. I noticed on MSNBC online last Thursday that 500 pieces of heavy equipment - trucks, bulldozers, etc. were shipped via flatbed trains from an Army base in Germany. When I read that, I knew it was only a matter of time until his Reserve Unit was activated. It was less than 48 hours later that they received word.

They report tomorrow morning. He spent today running around town trying to get his life in order. I spent my lunch hour with him at the bank, becoming his Power of Attorney. His will is done, he's on his second round of anthrax shots and they were told to leave town with no more than $200 cash. Their captain told them that once they leave the country, they won't need any money. Leads me to believe that they won't be at Camp Pendleton for long.

Four years ago, we sent him off to San Diego to Boot Camp - now he's heading west again. Today, I mentioned this fact to him and his response is something I'll always remember...

"Four years ago, I was scared to death to go. Now, I'm facing a possible war, but I'm not scared. I know what I have to do and I know who I'll be with. I'm not afraid, mom."

I'll spend the next year hearing those words...and I'm very proud!:D

Patty....:)

You can take some comfort in know'in that as a "leatherneck"...your DS has the best training in the world...and the best folks surrounding him! :)

Me and Mrs. G surely dew offer our prayers and thoughts for you, him and you're family....but have heart...activation doesn't necessarily mean that his path with cross with "harm's way" :):)

You'll all be in our hearts, minds and prayers :)

My thoughts and prayers are with all servicemen who are being deployed right now as well as with their families.

Prayers for your son's safety. {{{HUGS}}} sweetie, I know it's a scary time.

{{{{HUGS}}}}} and pixie dust for your son and all the other american service people who are being called up.....

I have a friend who has been living in Camp Pendleton now and says things are strong there. I hear only good things about that camp.

My thoughts go out to your son and family.

(((hugs))) and prayers TwinMom....as a mother of sons...I can't even imagine your fears right now.
