DS pin policy???

I've been out of touch.........
Between memorial services and work and school schedules, I have not had a chance to make it to the DS.
So what is the scoop on these pins?
Isn't the DS limiting the number each guest purchases like they did for the Millennium ones??
If they are LE, why not???
What is their return policy on them? Are they considered collectibles?? So would the "30 day" policy be in effect, or is that just "art" and WDCC??
Is the shipment they initially received all they will get? Or will they be replenished like they were with the Millennium ones? Some stores received a second shipment of the Walt & Mickey within 2 weeks.
Sorry if these questions are "old news", but .......been out of touch.

The word has always been here at TDS these pins will not be replenished. And no buying limits, unless a CM mgr self-imposed it. Thus a creation of a monster.
I would suppose they can be returned like any other Disney item. They aren't considered a collectable by TDS, since the 20% discount special was allowed for DC members.
My store still has #2 - #8. I will still buy any of these at cost for any Dis member. (Even minus the 20%!) The Pooh (dangle) and Tigger (slider) were $5 each.

OK, here is the scoop from what I can understand. The pins will not be considered collectables, therefore, there is no limit as to how many you can buy, and you can use your Disney Club Card or Disney Vacation Club Card discount to purchase them. They will not be replenished, so once they are all sold, there will be no more. Because they are not being considered collectables, as such, you can call and have them held for you, but the same policy applies to the pins as all other non sale merchandise--- they can only be held until close of the following day. 8 pins will be debuting each Saturday through December 15th, when the last 4 pins will become available for a total of 100 pins. Hope this helps clear up any questions, and the rules may be different from Disney Store to Disney Store, I don't know.

Yes, procedures do seem to vary from store to store. (Anyone here surprised? )
At the store nearest me, the CM mgr was told by her DM that she could hold pins starting the day after they go on sale. (Sunday)

And if you belong to the DC, the Disney web page will show the upcoming weekend's pins on Thursday. Last Thursday, the pics weren't up until evening. Maybe this week will be earlier in the day.

I live in Avon. If you aren't familiar with the area......it is about 20 minutes west of Cleveland, right off of I-90.
My daughter and I have played around with collecting pins for about 4 years now. I started getting some pins long before that. but not alot.
Then when we first went to WDW in May 98 my DD started us on this craze.
We are going to WDW in a couple weeks, let me know if you want me to look out for anything.
Nice to have another DIS neighbor.

OK, no flames, I am a DS Cm.... (not a manager who sets policy!, hahaha)

The procedure DOES vary by district or store. We were NOT taking holds at my store, and any limits on purchasing were left up to the MOD. (manager on duty). So far, we still hear that there will be no replenishments of the first set of pins...... some stores will begin pin trading in the next month or so (some stores are already piloting it). When that trading begins, it could be a final shot at getting the first group of pins.......
