DS having surgery tommorow ***update on page 2***

I will keep your son in my thoughts and prayer... I am sure all will be okay

DS had tubes in his ears, adnoids & tonsils removed all in one shot. Since he had a slight fever he was able to stay in the hospital overnight. I stayed with him & he was sad to come home. (Hospital got Nickelodean, we don't!)
I felt horribly guilty for a week because the tonsils could have stayed even though they were extremely swollen. After a week he was his old self & neither of us ever looked back.

 Just think, the two of you can enjoy quiet time watching Disney videos & reading stories.

My DD had her tonsils and adnoids out last year. The only thing I can tell you is to make sure he drinks alot even if he doesn't want to. It will make recovery much better and faster.

Keeping him in my thoughts. My brother had his removed when he was 5. He got ice cream and I did not....lol

Thanks for all of the kind words, thoughts, suggestions and prayers! We are heading off to bed and I will post an update when we get back!

Thanks everyone for your prayers and good wishes. He did so good! Recovery was very smooth. Although now after getting his nighttime dose of pain medicine he is up and can't go back to sleep, so we are both up!:o That's me yawning! LOL!

The surgery itself was very quick, and apparently when he woke up in recovery room, the first thing he said was... "did they do it already?". Too funny, apparently the morphine he got in surgery was working well! back in day surgery after about 2 hours he was already asking for solid food. He had no problem talking or swallowing. We are very fortunate things went so well. Again, a big thanks to all of you!

That is great, Vija, so good to hear all went well for your little guy. Hope he feels good today and forward. Good news. :sunny:

I'm glad he's doing well. My ds had his tonsils out 2 years ago and it's helped so much.:) My ds fell in love with fudgesicles after he had his tonsillectomy.:teeth:

So glad to hear all went well. That is funny about him asking if they had done it yet. I know from when I have had surgery, it is a weird feeling to wake up "a second later" and have it really be quite longer.

So happy to hear all went well. I hope you are both sleeping in today! ::yes::
