I am talking about the people that do not have a green card to work but yet they are able to work. I see a lot of them working in hotelsYou're right. They should make a law that only people born here can work here. Let the immigrants collect welfare.
you live in the city right they must have different programs down there. we have more people on the system in upstate ny then we do in the rest of the state.I'm sorry, I'm just having a hard time believing these programs exist in the state where I live and pay taxes in.
You ask hotel workers to see their green card?I am talking about the people that do not have a green card to work but yet they are able to work. I see a lot of them working in hotels

Just in her countyYou check the green card of people working in hotels? Or do you have a sibling that runs the hotel industry as well?
no . but most of them do not speak English. we have a local hotel where they all work and they are paid under the tableYou ask hotel workers to see their green card?
To be quite honest there are jobs that people who were "born here" simply won't do. I live in Canada but I believe there are similarities. My DH is a painter and he spends his days at construction sites. It's dirty work and it takes its toll physically. The majority of people you meet at a construction site speak with an accent. If immigrants were to suddenly stop working our countries would come to a screeching halt. It would be pretty funny if your suggestion came true though. You're right. Does you cousin or aunt run the payroll system? Or are you asking to see their pay stubsno . but most of them do not speak English. we have a local hotel where they all work and they are paid under the table

So you don't kNow. You assumed and you know what they say about people who assume
I know...I was agreeing with you.I was being facetious.

it is a local Hampton inn. we have pool party's at during the winter and I was talking with one of the workers, and she was telling me how she sends money back home too her husband and kids and she told me she was paid under the table. how they get away with it is crazy.again, how do you know that they are paid under the table? Because it would be really hard for the hotel to get away with that.

this is true. I remember seeing a story on the news a few years ago where they would pick up workers at the mexico border could work in the fields and get paid.My daughter's mother/father in law speak very limited English. They came over on a boat from Cambodia. Their kids are all Americans, and they have all their papers.
But you wouldn't know if they were "papered" or not. You would just assume because they don't speak English very well.
And as far as the illegals taking jobs from Americans, well, try getting those guys out of Harlem or Detroit down to Cali to pick those almonds or Florida for oranges. It wouldn't happen...hard work is something a lot of Americans just don't want to do.
