The vgf view types and rooms throw me off big time with their "resort studio" confuzzling me with "resort view" og. Im so afraid im going to screw that up because im trying to piece something together there. It should say BPK RESORT VIEW or something more to differentiate, dyslexia is a real thing lol

I agree, this is very confusing. Even when I asked my guide about a "resort view" favorite week in the original building he told me it is still labeled standard in their system

They need to just stick with something, standard view makes more sense to me than resort view. I suppose resort view sounds prettier

I agree 100%! I think standard made a lot more sense. Even at places like Y&B Club cash. Standard was parking lots and roof. Garden/wood had foliage. Now it's all "resort" and luck of the draw.

Even "preferred" view? Why wasn't pool/garden at BWV renamed preferred while leaving "boardwalk view" an option like "theme park view" at other resorts?

Disney claimed the change was to streamline things, but in traditional Disney fashion it caused more confusion.

I think the streamline was also to consider cash?

As I mentioned, evyerone has their own idea of what a view should mean.

With resort, I see it as anyting that is there…nothing specific..where preferred may be something that people would see as more…like at RIV, the lake.

Resort views at BPK can have a nice view of the pool while others will be a roof top.

Leaning, if you opt for preferred, your chances for something nicer are more or less guaranteed vs resort which they are not.

Same with the original building. Some are worse than others.

We aren’t big view worriers so we never care what we get. I have shared my thoughts that some of those first floor PV rooms at RIV that look at bushes only might be better as resort view.

Ive noticed that vgf preferred view is harder to get than resort view in the month im going which is interesting.

I thought most people go for the cheapest room. Preferred view is lake with boat parade? Are the resort views there really bad or perhaps more resort view rooms are at this resort?

For the original building, there are only about half as many Preferred as Resort.

So, even if the Resort views are booked at a higher rate, as long as they are not booked at 2x the rate, they will last longer.

I think they've been calling those rooms Preferred for cash reservations for some time now, so the DVC points chart finally matches.

I had no idea! I was only familiar with what comes up under the search on the website. It actually makes me feel better knowing preferred was included on the chart. Otherwise it made no sense at all to me

In my experience preferred view tends to be around later at VGF, so it could just be the dates @Girlstar30 is looking at...

As an owner, I have yet to have issues booking VGF at 11 months, and for much of the year even close to 7 months isn't too bad. We have stayed in February, March, and May so far I think. Stays have ranged from 1-6 nights. I think particularly with the new inventory, many folks have realized how much further their points go not staying at VGF so they own at VGF, but happily trade to BWV, SSR, BRV, or just about anywhere else has a better points chart with the exception of Poly.... But, I suspect Poly is even taking some pressure off VGF right now as people want to experience the new tower.

I really wanted to stay in a one bedroom grand flo but I couldnt bring myself to pay the 277 points for 5 nights for the 5 days I wanted, so studio it is! I had that booked too and changed my mind at the 6 month mark so stalking has commenced!

I am up against rundisney and spring break so this is not for the faint of heart. My stalking needs to be ramped up to once every 10 mins!
