Today's my sixteenth bday, so I went to get my learners permit at the DMV. I only got one question wrong on the written test!

But anways, whats the law about driving where you live?
Here its 16 for permit, 16.5 for junior lisence, 17 for regular lisence.

first off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

anywho... In jersey, you can get your permit after you have 6 hours behind the wheel experience, which you can't start until you are 16. at 17, you get your 'cinderella' license. Which basically is that you can't drive past midnight (hence the cinderella part) and that you can only drive with one other teenager in your car, not counting siblings. Yeah, no one pays attention to that part. and then at 18, you get your full license.

I don't know if it's true or not, but the rumor going around now, is that they are changing the law. If it's true, the incoming freshman won't get their permit until 17, and then wont get an actual license until they are 18. which would completely SUCK. but yeah. dont know if it's actually true or not...

Connecticut has this scewed up law though. You can't drive any friends until you have had your license for 6 months. First 3 months, you can drive yourself and parents and then the 2nd 3 months you can drive yourself, parent's and other family members. After you 6 months is up, you can drive who ever you want. Does anyone really follow that law? No, not really (I know I didn't ) CT wanted to reduce teenage accidents, but they way I see it, they didn't reduce the accidents, they just delayed them for 6 months..

Here you can get your permit at 15, your restricted license at 16, and then at 17 I think you are able to get the un-restricted . . . not sure. I guess I'll find out in 4 months . . .

First you have to take this retarted class, then after that you get a test. If you get a certain number of those right you get a permit that only lets you drive with parents or an older person with a regular licence. After you've completed ____ hours of doing that, you get a licence that only lets you drive from like, 6am to 12am unassisted. Your under that until your 18, where you get your regular licence. That might not be 100% correct though.

Also I'm kind of under some confusion. My mom lives in Florida, and it looks like there is this bill that will pass through the state legislature that would change the driving age from 16 to 17. So what happens if I get my licence up here in Michigan, then go down to Florida? Does that mean I can't drive?

Where I live you cannot get your learner's permit unless you are enrolled in a D.E. class (you have to be months shy of your 16th b-day to take the class). Then you need 25 hours of behind the wheel practice before you can get your license. For the first 6 months, you can only drive your siblings and one other person.

I turned 16 a while ago, and I still haven't gotten all my hours yet...so, I won't be getting my license until, like, August (which is a severe problem for carpooling in the morning). Oh well.

I got my temporary license yesterday ..but im 15 and a half. They are changing the driving age though to 18 if your birthday is in 1991. So my dad thought i should do it before they change it.

In New Hampshire..

1. 15 1/2 yrs old - you can start driving with a parent

2. drivers ed

3. DMV Test

4. 16 yrs old - drivers license

So what happens if I get my licence up here in Michigan, then go down to Florida? Does that mean I can't drive?

I think it depends on what state you're a resident of. If you're a resident of Michigan, technically that law wouldn't apply to you because you're not a resident of Florida. I'm not sure if that's how it works though..

lets see if i got this casue they just changed the law here in ny. and it didn't apply to me so im confused

4. i think 17 is full lisence after a certain amount of time after ur road test but im not sure

it sucks here in kentucky, were going to pass a law that lets us get a permit at 16 and an actuall drivers licence at 18
