Hi there! We are planning to rent a car for most of the days we are at WDW. We will be using Magical Express to arrive and depart and getting a car onsite. We plan to visit Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral one day, have dinner at Emeril's one night, drive to a Sonic, etc.

What is the easiest route from WDW to Kennedy? Will there be toll roads? Which routes are the least crowded? Most easily navigated? Any help would be appreciated!

Get a Florida map. Also, the Kissimmee tourist office sends a good local map. The Bee line (Highway 528) is the way to Canaveral. It is a toll road.

I have maps, I just need the wisdom of experienced travelers to assist me the questions above! :flower: Thanks for your help!

How much are tolls? How are they collected? We have transponders for the few toll roads we have here, but those are a private agency and I'm fairly certain they won't work in FL. Thanks!

I would recommend taking 417 to 528 (Beeline). On 417 there are at least 2 maybe 3 toll booths that are personally manned. They can make change. Each toll is $1.00-1.25 per car. On the Beeline, there is one toll just as you get to the Beeline--I think it is around $1.50-2. All of these are manned. There is an option for a pass, but that is for locals who travel these roads frequently. We don't have toll roads, so I don't even know what a transponder is or if it would work. It isn't a bad ride. Just follow the signs to Cape Canaveral off of the Beeline. Should take about an hour or so, depending upon how fast you drive.
