My brother, who works at USF, told me today that next week they are going to work on Sylvester McMonkey McBean's and His Unusual Driving Machines to get it up and running!!:bounce: :D

This attraction has been maintained. It is worked on constantly. It looks like from some picts at IOACentral that they will need to put together some type of show sceens in a couple of various locations and then loading gates and they could open it in a couple of weeks. But with this attraction no body knows except for the powers to be. I wouldn't trust the word of a regular employee though.

I thought there were some major safety issues with that ride.

The main reason why the ride may never open is because of evacuation problems. If the ride were to break down, there is not easy escape route to evacuate guests. The park would need to bring in cherry pickers to reach the guests. This would be a long and unpleasant process. The ride would have also had the lowest throughput in the park, even lower than Pterandon Flyers. Pterandon Flyers has a throughput of about 170 guests per hours. Thus, the wait time would be extremely long.

Robert- I'm not necessarily vouching for the authenticity of this report, for I doubt it will ever open either. However...
"I wouldn't trust the word of a regular employee though." Ummm....that coment doesn't sit right with me. It's some of us regular employees who give reputable information to this board first before anyone else.

Yes, but you give it for what you know. It's the area you deal with. This person not only doesn't work in Suess Landing, but they work at the other park. If you don't know if this is true, then why should this mentioned employee? Regular employees know in advance on things based on where they work, this to me just looks as if it's an employee rumor that has found it's way to USF.

Like Rocketman said. There are certain employees that does give good information and then there are other that like to make up things to see how far it will go. I know that there are the people that hear a rumor and will keep it going instead of trying to let the guest know that it isn't correct.

As great of an idea that would be, I'm sorry to tell you all that it will not be opening any time soon, nor are there any "real" plans to get it jump started. However, your friend may have seen some people work on it because a 3rd party is interested in working on something very similar. Now if that 3rd party were to actually invent whatever may be needed to outweigh the safety problems, you may then actually see Universal do something with driving machines but until then just keep dreaming...:jester:

It's been said before and I'll say it again "it's just an expensive decoration"
