We have driven to Disney twice once we made it to Florence, SC the first day and the second time we stopped in Kingsland, GA. We are thinking we might want to try to make in to Jacksonville, FL this time. Has anyone ever done this? How long did it take and how much further to Disney? We do not want to drive straight through but do like to get the bulk of the trip out of the way the first day.

Well, we sort of did the opposite. A few years back we went to a PGA golf tourney in Ponte Vedra, right outside of Jacksonville. We left around 5:30 pm, and got home around 8:00 in the AM. This took into account a few stops for gas and stretching.

It was a good way to do it, however we were shot the whole day and part of the next. Good luck.

We drove straight through from Camden county NJ, to Orlando in 17 hours on the 21st/22nd.

On the 30th, we left around 4:30 pm, and got home in NJ at around 9:00 am or something like that.

Jacksonville is maybe 2-3 hours away from Orlando.. we have done it in two, and a few times three depending on the Daytona traffic.

From Jacksonville to WDW is approx 2.5 hours depending on I-4 traffic. This would be a great place to stop as you can leave early and still have a full day at WDW.

Not familiar with your NJ location but it takes approx 11 - 11.5 hours from South NJ to SC-GA border with 2 short stops and minimum traffic. From there it is approx 2.0 hours to JAX.

The Embassy Suites on Baymeadows road just south of JAX is a nice hotel. Breakfast is included and every evening there is a happy hour with free coctails. You may need them after 13-15 hours in the car! Have a good trip.
