Congratulations on your upcoming vow renewal. I llok forward to seeing all your plans unfold...and photos of Sunrise Terrace
Thank you so much!
I don't know how I've missed your PJ but I just read through it. What a sweet love story

My H & I both moved from MA to FL within weeks of each other and met down here in FL, isn't it funny how things like that work out?
Your dress is beautiful! How great that you got such a deal on it.
Sunrise terrace is the most beautiful location, I can't wait to see your pictures!
My H and I had a similar elopement. It was May in FL and so, so hot. I'm so happy you are getting your dream vow renewal and that you are recovering from your surgery. What a nice way to celebrate!
Thank you! It's definitely funny how things work out that way. As my former roommate would say "When it's odd, it's God."

Summers in the South are kind of miserable, that's probably the one thing I don't miss about TN.
So my first rant in my planning journal, I will try to keep it brief. Work has been dreadful lately. I have been in retail management for the past 6 years for the same company, and due to my condition I just can't do it anymore. I think sometimes when you have surgery it's thought that you're going to be "fixed." As great as this would have been my body hasn't fully recovered, and my sciatic nerve and muscles are going to take awhile to heal. I had to demote, and am using this as an opportunity to enroll in school, as I had planned before all of this started to happen. The demoting hasn't been the worst part, now they are barely giving me any hours. What scares me the most is the idea of losing my health insurance due to my lack of hours

For someone that has much more recovering to do this is so scary, plus my insurance covers DH. I am going to speak with my school about their student health insurance coverage as a safety net, but I know the coverage won't be near what my work's health insurance provides.
"Reception" Plans
After the whole work situation I was not wanting to think about wedding planning, but this morning I spent a few minutes on the Disney Wedding Blog and it really turned things around for me.

I think our vow renewal will definitely be on a tight budget due to my loss of income, but we're pretty frugal people and I kind of see this as a fun challenge now.
Originally I had planned our ceremony being at 3:00 PM at Sunrise Terrace followed by cocktails at Territory Lounge, dinner at Artist Point, and a fireworks cruise on the Grand Yacht. This idea is now out, cost isn't even the main factor in this decision. When I really thought about our guests and what they would enjoy this scenario just didn't seem to fit. Two of our eight guests are little guys, and I know if I were a kiddo visiting WDW for the first time having to go to a wedding and a nice dinner would be borderline cruelty. I also have a pretty nutty FIL coming as well, and I just never know what's going to come out of his mouth

So I am also being considerate of the patrons of Artist Point this evening.
Our new plan is to have our ceremony in the morning and then we will serve our guests brunch and head into the parks together. I was really inspired by
Michelle + Russell's video and budget spotlight. Our videography will be through DH's best friend, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate our family and friends coming together. I know I won't be able to wear my gown into the parks, but I will wear a little white dress, and DH can wear wear whatever he wants.
For our rehearsal dinner and our brunch we are planning on renting a villa through David's Vacation Club Rentals, and will bring in catering from outside. From what I am calculating, our rehearsal dinner will be about $200 and our brunch $100, but these will increase when we add beverages, tax, and service fees. Also I am planning to order DH a grooms cake, most likely from It's Tasty Too. At this point I had looked into a swalphin ceremony, but DH loves the terrace. We thought AKV would be a great place to rent a villa, but only if we can ensure a Savannah view.
Our other location we are considering is OKW, we love OKW and the living room and kitchen space offers more seating. We will just have to wait and see what's available.
If DH gets a great job offer after his training program, then we might just look into a Grand Villa, until then I am really excited about our new plan. Our guests will be more likely to enjoy their time, and we want them to understand why we love WDW so much.

I plan to set up some games and such in the bedroom area for the little guys.
Oh here is a picture of the groom's cake I am wanting to order. DH loves to collect vinyl, and I think he would LOVE this
I will post our estimated budget soon
