Dress Shopping

Sandy-- I missed the pictures of your DD's wedding. It sounds beautiful! Can you link to the thread where you posted them?

And back on topic-- I don't think you can ever get a dress too early! One of my suitemates in college actually bought a gown *before* she met her DH. She was really confident she would get her MRS degree in college, and she did! :)

While that is really extreme (and yes, we totally made fun of her for it. If I had done that, I would have ended up using the dress to prop up a table like Liz Lemon on 30 Rock. ) I don't think purchasing a year in advance would be bad at all. She loved the gown and like Lynn said, there is always the chance a designer could discontinue a style. And fashion won't change that much so you don't have to worry about looking dated.

WOW! I'm not sure I could plan a wedding of that size in such a short period of time.

This made me laugh because the other day my DBF and I were attendants in his older brother's wedding, and the entire event was planned in less than a month! I was actually asked to be a BM two weeks before the wedding date!! I had to go to David's Bridal for a dress because the bride absolutely wanted her girls to wear a color she'd seen there, and the employees were having a fit with me for needing one so last-minute. Luckily I managed to find the ONLY dress in the entire store in both that color AND my size. The wedding was planned so quickly that the bride had to borrow a friend's wedding gown because she didn't have time to get one unless she found one that fit her perfectly immediately.

To the OP, I think it's perfectly okay to go ahead and start looking at dresses! DBF and I aren't even getting married for about four years, but I still look at websites and magazines to get an idea of what I like and where to find better deals. There are just so many options out there, it's good to take your time and find the one you absolutely love! And the BM dress you posted a link to is my favorite dress on the David's Bridal website! I saw it a couple of weeks ago when I was shopping for my BM dress, and so far it's my favorite style that I've seen. I hope to find similar dresses for my BMs when the time comes, because something like that would flatter all of their different figures.

Enjoy looking for your dress!!

Unfortunately, I do not have a link... I have only posted a few here and there to show the flowers, the cake or the characters.

I'm hoping to actually post a link to all the pictures that I believe may be of interest to brides that are planning a wedding at Disneyland. As I said previously, we had to take many things sight unseen... I was very nervous about the trumpeters, but they ended up being wonderful.

This is where I did post a few pictures...

Beautiful! Her gown and flowers were stunning! I love the maids gowns, too-- so sparkly and pink! :) Thanks for sharing. I, too, am in awe of the 12-week planning!

Thank you. Her BM gowns were beautiful... VERY sparkly. They were really stunning in the evening sunlight and on the dance floor.
