Dress for BBB

We are taking our 3 girls to Disney World this September and we are going to do BBB this time. My concern is that they won't have an Ariel dress for my oldest(10) at her appt and she will be heartbroken. My wife and I have been searching on Amazon/EBay for a high quality Ariel dress size 14/16 (I believe) and haven't had much luck. Any suggestions as where I can find a good quality dress that she can save as a keepsake? I've read the the Disney Parks Authentic dresses are a better quality than the Disney Store dresses etc. I called the BBB and they told me if I was concerned that I should buy my own and bring it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I absolutely would not just count on them having it there when you arrive. Keep scouring Ebay. The larger sizes are much harder to come by though.

I read somewhere that there was a lady on eBay that sold high quality dresses and shipped them to you resort and everything. I can't remember when or where I read it though. It was in the last couple of months.

As someone who has a child (9 yo) reaching that size range it is hard. Most of the custom outfit designers stop at about size 8 or 10. We need 12 now and our choices are limited. I often ask the seller if they can make the dress/outfit in a size larger, knowing it will probably mean an additional fee. Most will if their patterns can go larger. Sometimes they can't. Go on Etsy, not ebay. In my opinion, Esty is the place to look for custom outfits. Search Ariel dress human if you want the human form dress (teal)

So, if she will be devastated to not get Ariel then I agree with BBB, bring a dress yourself. I always set DGD up to know that she would have the choice of the size in stock vs a specific princess but I realize sometimes their hearts what their hearts want.

The one thing to note, if you go with the custom dress route, they will probably not be the sparkle overload dress that you find at BBB. It will be just as beautiful, more so in my opinion, but kids don't always share that view. The want those sparkles. I wouldn't go with having one shipped to your resort though, I'd order it in time to have it shipped to your home, so you aren't cutting it close.

Not sure if you are looking to save money, but you can get the Disney Parks dress before you get to WDW. The Shop Disney Parks app is a way to purchase all of the merchandise (97% of it. Once in a while I see something that says 'in parks only') from the Disney Parks. You can ship to your home before your trip. The dress comes in XL, which is 14-16. This won't save you any money, but you'll get the exact same dress you would get at BBB.

I second the recommendation to shop Disney Parks. Even if you weren't looking for a more difficult size to find, once when we went to BBB they didn't have the dress my daughter chose in her size which was kind of disappointing given the prices, so we learned our lesson and brought one to the park the next time we went to BBB. They hung it up for us at the front of the park for the same price as a small locker so we didn't have to carry it around all day. Very convenient.

You may be able to find a Halloween costume the that works since you are going in September. Around here, the first costumes show up in mid-August at Costco and are everywhere by Labor day.

I agree with the PP by the end of aug beginning of sept halloween costumes will be out and I'm sure you'll find something.

I would use the Disney Parks app- I also called and bought one over the phone once. I think I called the store at Downtown Disney. It cost me a fortune, but I needed a "human Ariel" dress for my daughter's birthday.

Another option is Etsy. There are some exquisite options on etsy. Just do a search for a human Ariel costume.

If you want the mermaid option, the Disney Store options are great. Their dresses are just as good as the park dresses- I actually think the park dresses have gone down in quality. The Frozen dresses in particular are a terrible quality. The Disney Store dresses are great.

Thank you all for the suggestions! We would need to either get the XL or an adult small. I'm not concerned with paying $100ish but don't want to get carried away because I have 3 daughters doing BBB

I was looking at the Shop Parks App today for something else and looked at their costumes and they did have the Human Ariel dress in XL in stock for shipping. I'd order it. It is the same exact dress sold in BBB
