Ok, I know this may sound a little crazy to all of you, but don't you all agree that we have ALL had our Dreams come true by just being able to go to Disney in the first place? :cheer2: There are many families that will never be able to go to Disney:sad2: . Just being there year after year is a Dream come true to my family and I. We are all very lucky to be able to go to the happiest place on earth. :woohoo:

Ok on another note: I absolutely love watching other people win stuff too, my goodness, I watched the promo commercial online and bawled like a baby!!

I'm totally with you!! I feel so blessed that we have the means to travel to such a magical place. We were treated like first class guests!! If that isn't magical, what is? :goodvibes

Also, I witnessed a family win to ride the teacups with Alice and Mad Hatter. I thought that was so cool living a dream through them!

I agree. While some trips are more magical than others it is a dream come true for me that my family has the means and is healthy enough to go as often as we do.

I also love seeing people win or a person (child or adult) light up when they see their favorite character.

I've been meaning to put something along these lines on this part of the board for a while now :thumbsup2

I cannot go to Disney each year, but do feel soooo lucky to be able to have visited the parks three times previously, and once again next year. It's a joy and a privilage to know that I've been to each park and enjoyed everything about them, knowing that some families will NEVER experience the parks in their lifetime.

So thank-you OP, I hope this makes people realise that just GOING to Disney is a dream, much better than 'ears/pins/lanyards' and just take those as a bonus if the magic comes to your side! :wizard:

I totally agree.....one of the best days of my life right up there with marrying my dear wonderful husband and the birth of my Daughter is the day I signed and mailed my DVC contract......I was more thrilled that day then the day I closed on my house.

And every day I appreciate what I have been able to achieve.

I'm bumping this one. Great observation!

My 14yo daughter assumes EVERYONE goes to Disney a few times during their childhood. She is lucky enough to have gone even once. Not to mention 2 more times on top of that.

The first time I ever went to Disney is when I took her for the first time. I was 27.....

It's easy to be swept up in the YOAMD's and yes it would be very neat to win something but I'm thrilled just to be going. As London Tipton would say "yeah me!" :rotfl:

I totally agree. I was never able to go as a child, so I am making my first trip in a month at age 34. When I was a child I remember wanting to go, but it was never even an option to us.

When my wife and I were planning our marriage and honeymoon, we talked about WDW. In the end we decided to go to Jamaica instead (not that I'm complaining about that! LOL)

Next month my dream will come true when we get to take our daughter. She is 7 years old. I'm sure every parent will agree that their dream is to make their child's dream come true. Seeing my daughter get to do something that I never was able to is the best thing that I could hope for. If we are lucky enough to win something from YOAMD that would be unbelievable, but I feel like I have already won.

I agree totally! I love watching the looks on peoples faces when they win! we haven't been that lucky as of yet, but hoping.........

we go to DLR 2-3 times every year (only 5 hours away) for weekend trips but only do WDW every 3 years since its such a big trip for us to make with the time change etc.

DD and I love both parks, but DH can skip DLR with no problem, but he is like a little kid when we go to WDW (it was our first trip together when we were first dating and DD first disney experience) it holds such wonderful memories for us all and we get to experience it again in only 21 more days!

I imagine others here have said something similar (I'm new here!), but my parents would NEVER have taken us to WDW. We couldn't afford it and they didn't like crowds, heat, rides, junk food, etc. I used to hear about other kids' trips and think they must be the richest people in the world. Now, my husband and I have taken our kids twice and are planning our third trip in June. Every time we get there, I just can't believe I am there! I try so hard to make my own kids understand how lucky they are, and I think they do. My mother does not get it ("Oh, why are you going there again?). Each time I go I'm that 12-year-old girl (in a 46-year-old body) who dreamed and dreamed of going to Disney, drinking unlimited Cokes, going down the pool slide over and over, and having my picture taken with Minnie. Last night, as we were talking about our June trip, my DH said, "You know, this will probably be our last trip to Disney" (our girls will be 13 and 15 when we go). I nodded and said, "Yeah, probably…" but inside I was saying "Dream on, buddy, cuz I ain't done with Disney yet!"

:goodvibes totally agree

Oh, this brought a tear to my eye! This is exactly how I feel about it. I was fortunate enough to go once as a child but I hardly remember it. But, I had that dream of being able to go again and feel like a child again, doing all those things you mentioned (plus unlimited ice cream!).

It made me feel so unbelievable when I first entered MK as an adult and I gasped in awe at Cinderella's Castle down Main Street. I whispered to my fiance, "Am I really here?" It was such a magical moment.

I agree we were lucky to be able to go last year and this year will probably be the last time that we get to go for a while. I'm the only one in my extended family that has been able to go and DH is the only one in his family that has been able to go. So we both feel really special.

I know exactly what everyone is talking about. I have beenso very blessed. This will be my fifth time going in January and I'm so excited. My friend and i worked extra jobs this past summer just so that we could go in january for our graduation present to ourselves. Plus we had to make sure we paid our tution bill (last one :cool1: ) It's such a blessing that we have been able to get through college, have good part time jobs in order to pay for our dream disney graduation vacation. we could care less if we win any dreams, just as along as were together and having an amazing time. God Bless!:yay: :flower3:

I totally agree. I am just blessed to have been able to take my family to disney world for our first trip this past august! I think I was in tears as we approached the MK to see the castle for the first time ever was amazing!

My dk's both say they can't wait to be able to go again and are constantly talking about the things we did...this is now 6 months later and they are reliving our trip every day.

it was a dream come true for us and we will never need a dream squad to give us stuff to make it so. (as much as it would be cool too though lol)
