Dreams Do Come True in Port Orleans. ~~*The End! Final Thoughts. 2/25 Pg. 41*~~

Your resort pictures make me want to upgrade for my trip. Your TSM run sounds like the running of the bulls they do in Spain. :scared1: I like your Minnie shirt. I have one of those I got for like 7.99 from the online Disney Store. Last but definately not least is you are looking really good.

Wonderful first update!! :goodvibes

You look so happy in the pictures and one can really tell that there 52 pounds less on you. What a great acchievement and congratulations to Marc! I think a bit of healthy comeptition can be great for motivation!

I think the empanada looks interesting, what was it filled with? Are there tomatos and/or cheese in the filling??

I love sitting next to first timers on Soarin and I am really looking forward to having my very own first timer along for every ride on my upcoming trip! :rotfl: And I think the parents' interpretation made a lot of sense, even if it was wrong. I still think, Soarin over America would make a fantastic update for this ride! :goodvibes

You look SO good! And congratulations to Marc, too, that's amazing!

I am a little afraid of braving the TSM stampede. That sounds absolutely insane.

I hope the blisters stayed away this time :sad2: I would have been freaking out, too.

WOW, you took some really great pictures of the resort and the room!!! Very nice!!!!

I never did ask to see your pictures so I never got to see the one of you and Jasmine and you look amazing!! What a great picture I LOVE IT!!!!

Isn't that stampede for TSM nuts? I'm lucky that I can send Shocker! Those folks show no mercy at all. So glad you weren't trampled!
It sounds like you found your Disney groove over at WS...
How awesome that Jen got to leave early!:goodvibes
Can't wait to hear all about your evening and Jen's arrival!
It really is nuts. I forgot to tell you all that my shoe became untied during the stampede too and I didn't dare stop to tie it. I had visions of falling flat on my face, luckily I didn't. I was able to tie it once the line stopped. Whew.

Now I am worried about your feet!

LL you look fantastic! I am sure that you did tour WDW so much better with your weight loss.

Glad you liked FQ. I too love the moderates....and FQ is probably my favorite!

I can't believe TSM was that crazy in January wow!
I was really worried about my feet too!!

I love FQ. It was so pretty and relaxing. Just loved it.

Oh my goodness! I'm stressed for your feet reading how stressed you are!

I hope that calms down for you.

Scary about the TSM rush, makes me not want to ever attempt DHS rope drop! Very dissapointing that the CM at LeCellier was rude.

YAY for Jen heading down earlier than expected!
I really was stressed about the feet, I did not want a repeat of May. I think the wise thing to do with TSM is to send one person to get Fastpasses and let the others go ride something else until that area calms down.

I just had to laugh at this. My grandmother always said the same thing. She never wanted to fly alone in case the plane went down. She didn't care if one of us would go too. :lmao:

I'm so glad that your first day was off to a good start and that you liked POFQ. It's always going to be a favorite of mine.
I can see why POFQ is a favorite of yours, it's so nice!
I so would love to have some solo time in the parks. And yes yo do look amazing - keep up the good work, I too have weight struggles and have hit a plateau. I don't think I have reached my goal for this trip in regards to the weight loss, but I keep trying.
If you don't have the Princess & the Frog CD/ Music you definitely need to get it, we listen to it every time we're in the car!
Love Ray " Going Down the Bayou!" :goodvibes
Thank you! It's hard work for sure. Yesterday was tough because on vacation I let myself eat those naughty things, yesterday was a long hard day where I felt hungry constantly.

Man no time like the present! I clearly was too busy at work and home to get on the first few pages but at least it is the first FIVE!!! Can't wait to read yay yay yay !!! :yay::yay::yay:
Hehehe, I am a woman on a mission. I don't want this TR to drag out. I'm ready to relive the trip now!

My lips are sealed about the answers to your questions. ;)

Ah, seeing pictures of POFQ made me remember all the things I love about it!!! Such good memories of our stays there! :lovestruc

That TSM rush is insane! I think it is the craziest one of them all! People are so nuts -- it's only a ride after all!

World Showcase looks nice and relaxing, but I am sorry that you were so stressed out about your feet!

Woo hoo about Jen getting to leave early! I was wondering how she was able to get to DtD so quickly!
I thought of you, Crissy and Laura's family while at POFQ. I remember reading all of your TRs and how much you all loved it.

WS was nice and relaxing and it usually isn't for me so that was really nice.

Okay, BACK! How nice to have a day to just do "whatever" with no set plan! I agree on the TSM -- it is the only really exciting attraction at DHS (for families) I think this is why it is still soooo popular. There are not many there. Of course there are other great things to do, but not as much as other parks... DISNEY needs to get in gear and add more crowd controlling attractions to DHS!
It's nuts. I was already dreading the next day because I knew Jen and I were going to participate in the stampede once more. Oy!

how can this have 5 pages already. OY!

okay gotta catch up!

EDIT: okay only 4 pages...
Hehehe, sorry!

I'm sorry you weren't able to do 4 parks, but I'm glad you got rest.

Soarin and ToT are the best rides to go with new people.

NOOOO not the beginning of a blister.....:sad2:
I'm okay with not being able to do the 4 parks. I decided it will be much more fun if I do it with someone else instead of going solo.

Wow, you are off to a blazing start! Great pictures - you look terrific!

I'm sorry you weren't able to do 4 parks, but why hurt yourself right off the bat if you weren't feeling up to it???
I guess I'm glad we didn't make rope drop at DHS on our trip! I would have cried! As I just posted in my update, we got there around an hour after RD and only waited 25 minutes even though it was posted at 40.

Hope the blisters stay out of your way!!
Yay for Jen being on her way early too!
Yeah, I waited about 20 or so minutes so it wasn't too bad. People are just freaking crazy getting into that line.

Can't wait to read more :)
Thanks!

You would not regret staying at POFQ let me tell you....not that I'm trying to enable you or anything. :rotfl: I love my Minnie shirt!! It was so comfy while I was down there.

Wonderful first update!! :goodvibes

The empanada I got was seafood, so it had bay scallops and other bits of seafood, it had cheese and a little bit of tomato. It was pretty decent. They also had beef or chicken as a choice or you could get a combo of two of them I think.

It was cute, you could be Soarin over America for sure. I just had to chuckle a little bit.

Thank you! We are both working hard.

You will be able to survive the TSM stampede. It will be okay, you have to ride it.

WOW, you took some really great pictures of the resort and the room!!! Very nice!!!!

I never did ask to see your pictures so I never got to see the one of you and Jasmine and you look amazing!! What a great picture I LOVE IT!!!!
Thank you! It's one of my favorites from the trip.

I LOVE your photos! :lovestruc I hope the blister calms down.

I am here! Welcome back! I am so excited to hear about you trip. You look great! I love the Mary Poppins cookbook. The soup at Sunshine Seasons looked great. I hope your new shoes helped your feet.

I LOVE your photos! :lovestruc I hope the blister calms down.
Thank you!! I really didn't take that many this trip, it was kinda nice to not have the camera in front of my face the whole time. :lmao:

Hello! Thank you!!

Hey LL and Jen! Love the title! :lovestruc I've had that song stuck in my head for about a week now, and that's my favorite line.

I just knew that you'd like French Quarter. I'm a little disappointed that the Christmas decorations were down already. I had heard that Disney was being really slow taking them down this year and was hoping that you'd get to see them. Christmas decorations or no Christmas decorations, it is just beautiful, isn't it?

LL, you've never been on Tower of Terror?!

Great pictures too, and I hope your feet don't cause all the same problems for May. Looking forward to more.

Hi there! The beginning of your trip sounds great, minus the blisters of course! :goodvibes

I bet you gals had fun at DTD, can't wait to hear about it!

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately Katharina won't be able to eat them then... :confused3 But I read somewhere that this stand also sells fried plantains and that sounds like a great snack, too! :goodvibes

Great start! :goodvibes Hope you're feet start behaving. :sad2: Wouldn't it be great if it was Soarin' over America and lasted longer....like a half an hour? :lmao:

I didn't post much on your PTR and now I realize why...everything I want to say everyone already posted! So ditto to what everyone said :goodvibes and remember if you don't see me posting, doesn't mean I'm not here enjoying every minute of it :thumbsup2

love the picutre of French Quarter, sounds like you had a great time, can't wait to hear the rest xx

Page 5, dang. Going back to read now. Really liked all your Tweet pics!

Acck, make that page 6, at least I'm at the top!

Great start, glad the arrival went smoothly! Fun first part of the day.

I have never been on the Tower of Terror. I have an irrational fear of plummeting to my death. I can't get over it. When I was little, I would have those dreams where you just fall and fall and fall and they scarred me forever. :rotfl2:

POFQ really was beautiful. DTD had most of their Christmas decorations still up and I heard just until a few days before we arrived the Castle Lights were still on.

Hi there! The beginning of your trip sounds great, minus the blisters of course! :goodvibes

DTD will be coming right up! :thumbsup2

Yes, they did have fried plantains. I was intrigued by them but decided to skip them.

Great start! :goodvibes Hope you're feet start behaving. :sad2: Wouldn't it be great if it was Soarin' over America and lasted longer....like a half an hour? :lmao:
Yes! A 30 minute soar would be fabulous!

No worries! Thanks for popping in. :goodvibes

Thanks. French Quarter was so beautiful...even in the middle of January!

Can't wait for morepopcorn::

Welcome!!

Thursday January 14th – Part Two.

I left off with the decision to wear my new sneakers to Downtown Disney to see if that would help the spot on my right foot that was rubbing. I was nervous but figured it couldn’t hurt.

I was very excited that I would be taking the boat to DTD. There is just something about a Disney boat ride that makes me super relaxed and calm. I just love them! I think from now on I must stay at resorts that offer some sort of boat transportation.

Once again I have to agree with you! While I'm not a bus person by any means, I loved riding the boats! It was very calm and the views were breathtaking at times. I also liked the lack of crowds and just the peacefulness of the rides back and forth!!!

This boat captain was hilarious. As we passed the little birdhouses near Saratoga Springs he made a joke about how Disney really knows how to grow resorts….by planting the seedlings and watching them grow. Too funny….but you probably had to be there.

I also loved seeing the Treehouse Villas. I hope I get to stay there someday!

I poked around DTD a bit, I had about an hour before Jen would arrive. I checked out Tren-D. I don’t think I’m trendy enough to shop there.

DisneyJanuary2010100.jpg

Then I went to the pin shop and bought a few things. Then I went to Basin and bought the most wonderful thing EVER.

Are you ready for this?

DR. PEPPER SOAP!!!

Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I am so excited to use this. It smells just like Dr. Pepper.

After this, I went over to Wolfgang Puck Express to meet up with Jen and after a few minutes there she was. Yay!!

I got myself a bit turned around in the middle of the Marketplace, I'm glad Leslie was able to direct me to where WPE was. I had no clue!!! It was great to finally be out of the car and in my happy place. No worries I made sure to park next to a light pole in parking lot B so I would remember exactly where we were when the time came to find the car again LOL!!!

We surveyed the menus and decided to each order something and share.

I ordered the four cheese macaroni that came with a salad and Jen ordered the BBQ Chicken Quesadilla with Crème Brulee of course!

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2001.jpg

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2003.jpg

They were both DELICIOUS! Better than delicious. Mmmmm. So good. We had a great meal catching up and plotting our next move…shopping but of course.

The food here was amazing! I'm so glad we decided to split our entrees. The quesadilla and the macaroni cheese were amazing!!! I was glad to finally try this place!! And the creme brulee...oh my lovely creme brulee. It was great to get that on the first night and really enjoy it!! WPE is a great restaurant and I would gladly eat there again!!!

Jen wanted to check out World of Disney and Once Upon a Toy. I, decided to buy some Mr. Potato Head Parts, complete with Little Mermaid Hair & Tail, along with the Mary Poppins accessories. At World of Disney, I bought a luggage strap – mine had broken on my suitcase and some cute little Mickey earrings. Jen bought her hoodie and a Mickey tshirt.

At this point I did not realize that everywhere was offering the AP discount so I wanted to make sure I got over to WOD so I could make use of my 20% off and boy let me tell you that adds up!! Of course I had to get my annual hoodie and even better it was a size smaller and fit very nicely! I also have a huge weakness for Disney shirts so of course I had to buy one LOL!!! I loved Leslie's earrings and I regret not getting a pair for myself but like I always tell myself when those regrets come creeping in...there is always next time!!!

After that, I decided I wanted some ice cream for Ghirardelli. Mmmm, so good. I couldn’t finish it all but I had ordered the berry sundae, it was delicious. It had these little blueberry type candies on top that were so good. I could have eaten a whole handful of them.

DisneyJan2010Day1andDay2012.jpg

That sundae did look quite delightful, I had no idea it had blueberries on it!!! YUMMY!!!!

Continued in next post...

After we were done shopping, we hopped in the rental car and headed back to POFQ to get some rest for the next day! After we watched Grey’s Anatomy of course, I tried to stay up for Private Practice but fell asleep during it.

Just wanted to add...had no trouble whatsoever finding the car that night WOOT!!!! Enjoyed catching up on what was going on Grey's. I don't often have time to watch a lot of tv at home so it was nice to relax a bit!!! I do believe I fell asleep a bit earlier than Leslie did LOL!! I don't remember much of Private Practice that night!!

Blister Count: ZERO.

Bandaid Count: ZERO.

That’s right. My new sneakers felt so much better on my feet. It was like I had new feet. I think my older ones rubbed on the side of my right foot which made it uncomfortable. My new ones were roomier in the toes and they seemed to make a world of difference that night. I was planning on wearing them for the full day tomorrow.

Souvenir Purchases for the Day.

These pins were for my friend at work, I had a pin list I was shopping off of for her.

Will I survive a second TSM stampede?

Do the new sneakers really work?
