Dreams Do Come True in Port Orleans. ~~*The End! Final Thoughts. 2/25 Pg. 41*~~

I'll take a quesadilla, a berry sundae, and a bar of Dr. Pepper soap, please. I already have a similar pair of Mickey earrings so I am all set on those. :lmao:

What a great evening you and Jen had!!! The boat ride sounds so relaxing.

I just noticed the link in your PTR tonight and was thinking how great it was I'd be in from the beginning when I find out you're already 4 postings and 7 pages in. Yikes! In like a day. Wow. I'm nominating you for Disboard Trip Writing Royalty!

What a great first day!

Dr. Pepper soap??! That is awesome! I just opened my first bar of Basin soap last week...:cloud9:

The berry sundae sounds just heavenly. Yum.

So glad you enjoyed WPE, we have eaten there a few times and it has never disappointed. Jen, isn't their creme brulee wonderful? And huge?!

Love your souvies too! Are those the same earrings that CP also has? They are very cute! :thumbsup2

I'm excited to see if you went back for the Mary Poppins cookbook and what you think of it if you did.

What a perfect first day!! I love the light fixture pic from TrenD - even if you aren't trendy enough for the shop, they still intalled some pretty impressive lamps for you!

The quesadila Jen got at WPE looks delicious. Katharina and I are planning on eating there next Thursday (:woohoo:) and I have read their menu so often that I always come up with new ideas of what I would want to order...

I love your shopping pictures, we really have to remember to that, too, with our souvenirs.

And thanks for the many updates, they are really wonderful to get into the mood for a Disney trip.

I found the note about the Disney Give a Day, Get a Day info on the ALLEARS newsletter.
... from Rob Herndon: I am a volunteer director at a local hospital. I signed us up to be a participating agency who offers the opportunity for folks to serve their volunteer time. And the response has been incredible! Now granted, I was not in the office on January 1st, 2nd or 3rd due to the holiday, but when I checked my email on Monday morning, I had more than 200 requests for volunteer service. Simply amazing! Normally, I may get a dozen a month! And messages are still rolling in. Unfortunately, I cannot accommodate new volunteers to just "drop in" and help out. Hospital volunteers are subject to background screenings, orientations and training before they can provide service, so I'm betting that most folks will opt for other, more convenient opportunities to earn the time required to receive a Disney ticket voucher. But just the fact that I've been in contact with that many people, in such a short amount of time is fantastic. SOME of them may end up becoming volunteers for me, or for some other agency perhaps, but that is the important part, motivating people to take the first step toward getting out and helping in their own community. I have talked with people from towns an hour away and some from the neighborhood across the street, but it took Disney's offer to get them to pick up the phone. For that alone, I think this is a wonderful promotion. I have heard that within the first 72 hours of operation, the Disney website performed SEVEN million searches for volunteer opportunities. They are only giving away ONE million tickets, so do the math. If everyone finds and performs some volunteer service, this may be a very short-lived campaign. However, I truly hope that Disney will extend the opportunity to everyone, because everyone CAN make a difference. And that, not the free ticket, is what this is all about.

What a fun evening at Downtown Disney! I'm so happy we have a zero blister/bandaid count! :thumbsup2 Both your meals look delish. Loved all your souvies!! Dr. Pepper soap is perfect for you, Leslie! And woot to Jen for needing a smaller size in the sweatshirt!!

Can't wait for more!! popcorn::

Wow am I late to the party! Signing up and going back to read! :yay:

Edit: Catching up on everything---

The pilot was bookin' it on your flight there, so early!

Thank heavens I've never had to deal with the TSM chaos! I've heard the same story over and over... I just hope they do something about it before someone gets hurt :(

I loved the family you sat beside during Soarin and had to laugh at your snob comment :) I had a newbie sitting beside me on our last trip and he was so fun to listen to!

When we were at POR, I was struck by how quiet and peaceful everything was. The values have the music going and the fun of the pools, etc and while that's one of my favorite things about them, its such a marked difference from the calm that was at Riverside. I'd love to go back again.

Oh we love Wolfgang Puck! Yum yum yum! And Dr. Pepper soap? That's new! I don't remember that from August! LOL at the visual of Jordan chopping away at it ;)

Yay! Caught up!

You are TR writing Queen! princess:Loving the updates and hope it is a sign of what a great trip you had- the enthusiasm is contagious.

I leave in less that 24 hours - I think I am down to 18 hours!

Love :lovestruc Basin soap - I still have mine from last trip and keep it just to smell, it perks me up! I am definitely buying more!
I also will be on a hoodie hunt - so happy Jen got her's and it's a size smaller - WOOT to her! :goodvibes

We have those Potato Head Parts too - well my DD does!

I think I am adding the shillouette pins to my souvenir list, Did you see any Orange Bird pins?

I hope to log back on before I leave (I like to check any last minute news items)! who knows there may be an update popcorn::

I LOVE the purchases & that mac & cheese looks awesome!!!! You are making me hungry. I've never heard of Dr. Pepper soap, but you can bet your bottom dollar I will be looking for that on my next trip! I'm glad there were no blisters, too! I can't believe you have 8 pages already!!! I have posted 100 photos so far & still only have 3 pages! :lmao:

Isn't the boat ride to Downtown Disney great. One of my favorite perks of Port Orleans.

Dr. Pepper soap? I've never heard of such a thing.

Great update! Glad you guys enjoyed your first evening together.

I have to agree with you - the boat transportation is the best. I love the boat trip. It will always remind me of my first on site stay at Disney. That was a trip so full of magic it was bursting at the seams! :wizard:
Awww, that's so nice that the boats remind you of that!

Well better let than never. Loving it so far. POFQ is so pretty! Yay for the blister situation thus far :banana::banana:

I MUST get Dr. Pepper soap!!! And that Wolfgang Puck meal. Looks sooooo yummy!!!

SOOOO which one of those things did you eat on the 14th in honor of the 12th anniversary of my 21st birthday???? :lmao:
All of them??

They also had coca cola, lemon lime, orange soda and root beer soap. I should have bought them all! :rotfl2:

Dr. Pepper soap! What a great find. I love the way it looks.

I hope your blister/bandaid count keeps looking like that! I'm so glad the new ones worked so well for you.
Me too, all the soda soap had different colored dots like that.

Oooohhh before I forget...Dr. Pepper soap!! My favorite soda!! :woohoo:
I really love all of your pictures from FQ....I think that is where I decided to stay my first night....I want to be close to DTD because we are arriving around 7 and I want to SHOP and eat there. I can get a decent AP rate too. :)
TSM is crazy in the am :sad2: it is a great ride but....really?
Funny...I always like hearing the screams of people on TOT hahaha:rotfl:
What a cute cookbook! I am going to have to check that out! Love MP!! :goodvibes So did you get it???? ;)
Supercute shirt Jenf :thumbsup2
I can't say enough good things abotu French Quarter, we loved it there.

I hate hearing the screams. EEK!

You'll just have to wait until Epcot day to see if I bought it or not.

Yay for zero blisters and zero bandaids. :lmao: Hope the rest of the trip goes as well.
You're going to tempt the stampede again? :scared1:
Yep....I did attempt it again.....

OOh, that food looked yummy!!

Good souvie shopping!! I love that t-shirt!
I bought Mickey earrings with the March birthstone for DD8. She doesn't have her ears pierced yet, but I told her when I thought she was ready, I'd give her a pair of earrings. So I'm saving them for that time, which will probably be for her birthday in March.
Awww, that's so sweet about DD8's earrings.

Great update! Sounds like you got a lot accomplished on your night at DTD.

I LOVE that boat ride! So relaxing, I agree.

That soap sounds right up my alley (as I sit here sipping on a Dr. P!).
I really love it too, boats are the way to go!! Dr. Pepper is my favorite soda and I miss it SO MUCH!

Hey LL!!! What a great update! Loved it! So much fun! Can't wait to hear more!!!! :thumbsup2 How fun Dr. Pepper soap! And yes isn't WPE the best? IT is a fabulous deal if you are on the DDP b/c it is QS. IT is my DH's favorite!

Great report. POFQ looks lovely!
Thank you!

I feel like I hit the update jackpot here! I got to read your beginning posts, and today's all at once, woo hoo!

I love POFQ. It is such a relaxing resort and your photos really make me want to stay there again. :goodvibes

I would never do the "running of the bulls" for TSM. I understand that it's an awesome ride, but nothing is worth that to me, not for that stress, so I can understand how you felt. Crazy.

And let me just say...mmmm...butterfinger cheesecake. I think that's my favorite thing that you ate so far. :thumbsup2
I really hope the running of the bulls dies down...but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I wish people would just chill then it wouldn't be so bad.

I am not a huge fan of butterfingers but that cheesecake was delightful!

I have had the quesadilla, and it was very good.

You girls are off to a great start. I can feel the excitement, energy, and enthusiasm of a trip's beginning in your words. Nice souvenirs.
The quesadilla was my favorite thing from Wolfgang Puck. So yummy! Yes, we had a lot of energy and enthusiasm on this trip.

Dr. Pepper soap??!!!??? GET OUT!! (Said in my best Elaine voice..hehehe) I will be making a trip to Basin for that!

Great update! Love all your pictures. We enjoyed WPE last June too. My DD got that mac and cheese and ate up every single bite!

I'm glad your new sneakers seem to be doing better. Hope it stays that way!:goodvibes

Jen-loved the shirt and hoodie!!
I can't wait to use the soap. I've been saving it for this weekend so I can really enjoy it. :rotfl:

Holy smokes, Leslie!! I looked yesterday to see if you'd started, but didn't see anything and now I see you've already got a bunch of installments up! :worship:

Very excited to get started! :cool1:
Thanks for joining in! I'm a woman on a mission with this TR.
ooooo dr pepper soap! I'd probably just start chewing on it...;)

Sooo glad to hear that the new sneakers were much better than the old sneakers.

Thanks to both of you for your comments and pictures of WPE. It'll be my first time eating there so I'm glad the reviews continue to be positive.

I'm jealous you get to stay at POFQ.......
I keep smelling the soap....it smells good enough to eat. :rotfl2:

New sneakers were much better than the old ones.

You will LOVE WPE. It's so yummy. Everything we saw there looked delicious. I want to try the chicken pocket, I think it's called a moo shu chicken pocket or something like that.

I have to say that I found POFQ just as relaxing as Wilderness Lodge...maybe even more relaxing but that could be because of my mind set this trip.

All caught up!

Loved seeing your pictures of POFQ. I'm disappointed that we didn't get over there to explore during our stay at POR. Well, besides the short trip through on the carriage ride.

The boat ride to DTD is one of the BEST things about staying at PO. :thumbsup2

Glad you liked Wolfgang Puck Express. It's sooooooo good!

You came away with some great loot on your first day. Love the earrings. :goodvibes And so glad your new sneakers are working out - so far.....
I agree, the boats are a fabulous addition to the amenities at Port Orleans.

I did come away with a lot of loot on the first day...a lot more than I expected. :rotfl2:

What a great night. Jen ordered my favorite thing ever at Wolfgang Pucks!

I totally understand LL about your love of boats at WDW.... it is my favorite mode of transportation too, even more than monorail.

Love the purchases... I want the shirt and hoodie!
I love the tee that Jen picked. I was disappointed with Disney's variety of plus size tees, most of the sizes were still a little too snug. They of all companies should have a better variety in my opinion.

I have the same sweatshirt:thumbsup2 Im very excited about shopping in TrenD on my next trip!!!

Can't wait for what's nextpopcorn::
TrenD was very neat. Probably be another update sometime tomorrow. :thumbsup2

YAY for new shoes! I hope this trend continues.

Ok those light fixtures at TrendD are ADORABLE!

Your lunches looked so yummy, I may just have to eat there :goodvibes

What a lovely lovely evening. :thumbsup2
I loved the light fixtures, they were so pretty in person.
Holy heck LL! 4 chapters of yours and Jen's TR since yesterday!? I am utterly amazed, especially considering I have yet to start mine yet! Man does time fly, I can't believe you guys are back already!!
But I'm looking forward to lots of BFF moments together! :goodvibes
We are on a mission! I don't want to drag this one out...I lose my enthusiasm for the trip the longer I wait to write.

SEVEN PAGES ALREADY!!! :faint:

:rotfl:

Going back to read....
Welcome!

I'll take a quesadilla, a berry sundae, and a bar of Dr. Pepper soap, please. I already have a similar pair of Mickey earrings so I am all set on those. :lmao:

What a great evening you and Jen had!!! The boat ride sounds so relaxing.
:rotfl: You are too funny! The boats are so relaxing. I really love them. I've always liked boating but Disney Boating brings it to a whole new level.

I just noticed the link in your PTR tonight and was thinking how great it was I'd be in from the beginning when I find out you're already 4 postings and 7 pages in. Yikes! In like a day. Wow. I'm nominating you for Disboard Trip Writing Royalty!
Awww, shucks! Thanks. ::goodvibes

What a great first day!

I'm excited to see if you went back for the Mary Poppins cookbook and what you think of it if you did.
The berry sundae was delicious. I could really use another one just about now.

I don't know if they are the same ones or not. Are they CP?

You will have to wait and see until Epcot day if I bought the cookbook or not. I will admit I did have flashbacks of the bunny that I never bought in that very store....I was anxious that it would still be there. :rolleyes1

looks like a fun tr..................subbing.............
Thanks for joining in!

Yay for no blisters, fun shopping, yummy food and good company!
It was a wonderful evening!! I rediscovered my love for downtown disney this trip for sure.

What a perfect first day!! I love the light fixture pic from TrenD - even if you aren't trendy enough for the shop, they still intalled some pretty impressive lamps for you!

Yes, those lights were installed for me for sure! :rotfl:

I haven't dug out my Mr. Potato Head yet but I can't wait too.

I did see quite a few Orange Bird pins, especially at the bigger pin shops in the parks. :thumbsup2

Woo hoo for leaving in 18 hours!! :dance3:

I LOVE the purchases & that mac & cheese looks awesome!!!! You are making me hungry. Dr. Pepper soap? I've never heard of such a thing.
I agree, it's a wonderful perk!

I hadn't either. I didn't even know to look for it but I am so glad I found it. I found the coca cola one first so after that I was on a mission. I may have gasped and done a little jig when I found it. :woohoo:

:worship:

I CANNOT believe that y'all are already on page 8 of your TR! You ladies rock!!

I am still doing laundry!!

Really glad to read that you were having no blister issues so far. :thumbsup2

That TSM stampede sounds awful. We got there about 10 mins after park opened and I guess we missed most of the runners.

I hope you decide to get that cookbook. Too cute! And your earrings are so cute! I always forget to look at Disney's jewelry. :sad2:

:yay: for Jen getting out soon and :woohoo: for you guys lovin' WPE! It's my favorite CS place hands down and beats some TS places! YUM!

Can't wait to read more!!

I hope to get started on my own TR this weekend. It'll be interesting to compare our different days at different parks during the same time frame!

:goodvibes

Yay for being caught up!

I love Southwest, I have always landed early with them. It's a nice little fact I always forget about too so I never count on it.

Stayed tune for more thoughts on TSM....

I have to agree with you on the values...they are much more chaotic for me. I need a little more peace after spending days in the parks but I understand why people do love them.

:worship:

I'm on a mission to get this thing finished before I'm in my post Disney trip doldrums. :rotfl2:

I haven't done any laundry yet....Marc did some today but I was smart and contained all of the laundry in one suitcase.

I was trying to decide. They look like the exact same design and type of stone, but I couldn't tell if maybe yours were a little bit smaller.
They are quite small....I think I did see some larger ones.

Whoops! You're too quick for me... I edited my post with some comments. :thumbsup2

Btw, I cannot WAIT to see your pictures when I get home. Dang work blocking photobucket!
I saw your comments. The pictures are great....I have to give most of the photo credit to Jen from here on out...I took less than 300 pictures the entire trip! :scared1:
