Dreams come true...WDW 8/30-9/16

I can't believe he likes the Gremlins!! That's so funny! I think I was his age or only a little older when that came out!
LOL

Jay, we have been lurking your report for a very long time! You have a wonderful family, and congrats on your new lil cutie, who'll be here before you know it. We also have trouble making vacation plans elsewhere, as WDW is our priority! Just read that your DH has had back problems, and t curious on what spinal decompression is... , sounds like a very similar problem my DH has going on right now with his back too! Was he on any meds, too? Take care Jay! and have a VERY Merry Christmas!:goodvibes :santa:

"Stitch" was so excited to search out all of the toys! He kept saying he was on a toy safari! HA HA.

Here he is finding the last one...the mogwai, Stripe (from the old Gremlins movie...don't you pity me having to Christmas shop for him?!). He has his own very unique tastes!

Love all the new pictures Jay! The soap and bath stuff you got at the GF sounds wonderful. You know me, I would have taken a few pictures of them too. Hahaha.

Hahaha...glad you decided to skip the monorail, the mere mention of that "frog incident" had me laughing out loud again. I can just picture that whole hilarious escapade! Way too funny!!!!

Aww how sweet of Mousekeeping to take the time to surprise the boys like that! Little Stitch cracks me up....a toy safari!!!! Oh and I must say that Stitch and my little one have VERY similar tastes, Gremlins and Jack Skellington!!!!! Hahahahaha.....they would make quite a pair!!

Well I am so glad that the spinal decompression is working for your DH!!! Being able to cancel that surgery must have put smiles on both your faces!!! I hope you are doing well and I am praying that your sweet little one arrives soon - nice and healthy!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Wow, Jay, those bath products look wonderful! I heard about the H2O line and how fab it really is!! I don't blame you for taking pictures!! :lmao:

The Toy Safari!! What a total blast!! Disney really is wonderful taking the time to do things like that, to make each stay so magical. :wizard:

And I love Stripe, too!! :rotfl:

Our due date is the very end of January but my OB insists it will be way sooner then that. I am nervous and happy and excited and scared all at the same time!! :hourglass

I'm so excited for you! Praying all goes well for you and the little guy the next few weeks!

Dh is doing so much better! Spinal decompression has been a LIFE SAVER (or rather back saver) for him. This past week would have been his surgery but he has made such strides with the spinal decompression stuff that we chose to cancel the surgery! He still is not normal, but the nerve pain is gone. He had a repeat MRI and the herniated disc was sucked back in and HEALING! Spinal decompression is the most amazing thing!!:cheer2:

That's wonderful news!! I hope he continues to improve. That wasn't an option for me since my disc had fragmented, I'm so glad to hear it is working for him!

YEA! Jay's back, the baby's hanging tough, there's a new installment and the dear man is feeling better. What more could we ask for?

Merry Christmas!!

From one Disney obsessed family to all of you wonderful others...have a most blessed Christmas day! Enjoy the time with your family and friends.

Thanks for sticking with this report. I will post an update very shortly. Up next, a day of doing nothing but enjoying everything. :thumbsup2

:santa:

Ho, Ho, Ho....Merry Christmas to you too Jay!!!! Hope you enjoyed the day with your loved ones!!! Not much longer and you will be enjoying a new little one!!!

Merry Christmas!!! I can't wait to hear about your day of "doing nothing!" I bet it was just as magical as the rest of your trip! :goodvibes

Merry Christmas to you, too, Jay! I can't IMAGINE that you had time to post on Christmas day in a household with three kids! I bow in awe of your superior organizational abilities. lol

All caught up on your report. Silly finals got in the way!

Thank you for sharing the sonogram pictures. Though I have no interest in being an OB, I am looking forward to delivering some babies during my OB-GYN rotation, whenever that comes. How many weeks along are you?

The toy safari was so cute! Stitch and my little sister would have gotten along great when she was his age, she loved the Gremlins and things like that!

Hope you and your family had a very merry Christmas and all your wishes were granted!

Great Sonogram pics! I enjoyed our update and GF pics alot too. My DD wants to stay there so badly. Did you like GF or AKL better? I would assume GF from reading your posts. Too funny about Stitch and his unique toys, my DS is the same way. He had to have Kaa the snake from Jungle Book for Christmas :confused3 , didn't want Baloo, Mowgli, or King louie. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with your adorable family.

SO CUTE!!! My favourite is the dalmations....I think this is why we all love Disney resorts because although it's not a regular occurance for these lovely surprises to happen where else can you stay that they do occasionally happen?
So true! I love staying at Disney with my boys. I just get so wrapped up in seeing them living the magic that it comes alive for me as well. And your question is so very spot on...where else but Disney?!

We loved coming back to our room to see what the animals had been doing while we were gone. They were usually piled on one of the beds, with the remote control, watching television. They kids loved it. (So did we!)
Hee hee hee...tv addicted stuffed animals. I bet all three of the kids loved it! I know all three of mine did!!

I can't believe he likes the Gremlins!! That's so funny! I think I was his age or only a little older when that came out!
LOL
He got a dancing/singing Gizmo, a five pack of small plastic Gremlins/Mogwai figures and a Gizmo backpack as part of his Christmas loot. HE LOVES THEM! So much for normal;) But we love him anyway. :rolleyes1 ;) :lmao:

Yes, dh was on pain meds and also on muscle relaxers and nerve blockers (sort of like pain meds). NONE of it was doing much more then making the pain "just" bearable. Spinal decompression seemed way too good to be true...but it worked. It's a machine that dh is hooked up to that somehow creates a vacuum inside of his disc. We were told by both a neurosurgeon and an orthopedic surgeon that dh had no choice but to live in pain and risk permanent nerve damage OR have surgery. We ended up having to pay out of pocket for his treatments BUT it's the best money we have ever spent. You can google spinal decompression and get more info. I know it's not for everyone...but it really did help dh immensely!!

:santa:

I cannot help but take pictures of everything. It's some sort of addiction. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS!! I will be holding them close to my heart! LESS THEN A WEEK!!! I am so excited (and scared). We have had dealings with the NICU before and I am hoping we do not have a repeat of that. Although, I am ever so grateful that doctors/nurses so talented and caring are available should the need arise...I just pray that it won't.

:rotfl:
HA Stripe...I cannot believe you remember him! I had all but forgotten the movie (I hadn't seen it since I was a child) until the boys found it on tv once and asked if they could watch it...one time was all it took to start our very own little Gremlins fan club. ;) We now own both Gremlins and Gremlins 2 on DVD. :scared1: :lmao: How's that for strange?!

I'm so excited for you! Praying all goes well for you and the little guy the next few weeks!

That's wonderful news!! I hope he continues to improve. That wasn't an option for me since my disc had fragmented, I'm so glad to hear it is working for him!
Yep, once your disc breaks off...it's surgery. We were so very lucky that his only herniated (ha, I cannot believe I am saying that is lucky) . But it truly was.

YEA! Jay's back, the baby's hanging tough, there's a new installment and the dear man is feeling better. What more could we ask for?
Ummm...a happy new year?!:rotfl:

Merry Christmas!!! I can't wait to hear about your day of "doing nothing!" I bet it was just as magical as the rest of your trip! :goodvibes
It really was a GREAT day. I will be posting an update on it ASAP. I aim to finish up this trip report by the time I have to leave for the hospital next week. I am hoping to have it all "sewn up" by New Year's Day as we are announcing our 2008 travel plans to the boys that day and I was hoping to have this report done before I got a bit obsessive about planning our next one. ;)

Merry Christmas to you, too, Jay! I can't IMAGINE that you had time to post on Christmas day in a household with three kids! I bow in awe of your superior organizational abilities. lol
Not so much organizational abilities...more a computer that automatically logged on and the fact that my addiction to the DIS is a strong one...that and I really wanted to wish you wonderful friends a Merry Christmas.

All caught up on your report. Silly finals got in the way!

I am 35 weeks. If all goes well with the amnio and blood tests we plan on having a new little prince at 36 weeks. :cheer2: I am so excited to meet him. I really do wish he could have a few more weeks "inside" for his own good...but since that is not possible, I am trying to focus on the good, I get to see him sooner. :woohoo:

"Stitch" had safaris on the brain since we had just stayed at AKL. He still wears this cheapy little bracelet he got from the AKL Bush Camp. He calls it his safari band. :rotfl:

Great Sonogram pics! I enjoyed our update and GF pics alot too. My DD wants to stay there so badly. Did you like GF or AKL better? I would assume GF from reading your posts. Actually AKL wins hands down. I mean I LOVE LOVE LOVE the GF! It's beautiful, welcoming, relaxing and fun but AKL was all of that to the extreme. The entire staff at AKL was beyond helpful and the club level at AKL was an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10 while the GF club level was about a 7 (we had trouble with the pre-planners returning phone calls or emails) and the lounge was really crowded in the Sugarloaf building without any sort of view. At AKL the pre planners made me feel like I was the ONLY guest planning an upcoming stay and the club lounge at AKL was not crowded and had an absolutely stunning view of the lobby below.

All in all I would say that the GF is one of my favorite WDW resorts...but that AKL and the CR rank a bit higher for me personally. However, for a little princess in waiting princess: , I bet that the GF would be a perfect fit! I know our family will be staying there again...it was such a great place!! I think it would be an awesome resort for a little princess in waiting!!princess:

HA HA HA on the Kaa doll. Were you able to find Kaa for his Christmas gift? I sure hope so!!:thumbsup2

Update to follow shortly!! :yay:

At this hour, you should be sleeping, young lady!

Please train your husband how to post to this thread so he can let us know how it goes until you have the energy to come back to us!

OH, I leave for Florida on the 8th - so maybe you should pm your basin order before heading out for the hospital?

Gentle Hugs.
Linda

Just finished reading your awesome report, your boys sound like wonderful young men and it sounded like you all had the best vacation. Can't wait to hear the rest and hope all goes well with your new prince :goodvibes

I really want to try AKL even though I think DD would love GF. I found Kaa the snake at Disney Store before Christmas. DS seems to like the villians and unusual charcters best.

I can't believe you only have 1 week left until your sweet baby arrives. My DD arrived right at 36 weeks and was perfect and went right home with me. DS was born at 35 weeks and went to the NICU for just 1 day because of Jaundice though. He came home a day later than me. I'm sure your little boy will be perfect and healthy!! Hope all goes great with your delivery too.

I don't know how a day so filled with doing "nothing" on purpose flew by so quickly! Before I knew it, I was laying my head down on pillow and drifting to sleep...BUT let me start a bit before that. Let's start with me waking up and taking my head off of the pillow.

I didn't do that until just about half of the morning had passed. It was after 9:30 AM before we made our way down to the club lounge and grabbed some fruit and cereal for breakfast. We started out with "Stitch" and I having chairs and the others standing around...but slowly the lounge cleared out (as the food was taken away) and we found ourselves not only with seats but as the last remaining family in the lounge (after breakfast). Being as it was only us and the staff we let the boys grab some crayons and some of the coloring pages they had sitting out and go at it. You wouldn't believe how some computer printed coloring sheets made their mornings! The boys spent about 45 minutes coloring. And the club lounge staff was nice enough to offer to print them more of any character they would like to color (at least that they had computer files for). Not only did they print the pictures for the boys but they oohed and ahhed over their masterpieces and took the time to talk with them about how their vacations were going. It was a nice bit of personal interaction that the boys really enjoyed. While they were busy coloring and visiting, dh and I had a chance to talk about some of the many projects we wanted to start and/or finish before our newest arrival was to make an appearance. Dh jokingly told me he would either have to get a second job or I would have to learn to live without my Disney vacations to even get half of the things I wanted put on the list done. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: I very seriously told him I would miss him but that I hoped he could find a second job he enjoyed. :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: The poor man just rolled his eyes and told me I was a Disney addict...as if that is something bad?! ;) :confused3

After our long breakfast and relaxing time in the lounge we headed for the monorail platform and hopped a ride over to the Contemporary. The boys wanted to spend another chunk of time playing in the arcade there...I myself had some shopping I wanted to do and all of us were up for a small bit of exploring at one of our very favorite resorts. So...off we went, me hobbling a bit but a whole lot better then the two previous days.

The boys had a great time playing in the arcade with their dad while I had a blast enjoying one of my favorite activities, shopping! Now, since I didn't have near enough by way of bath products by the time I got done with my Basin shopping (HA HA HA) I did a bit more. The concourse shop had a good selection of H2O products. They carried more then one line and I had fun sniffing my way to my final choices. I had no problem finding enough products that appealed to me...my problem was making myself make the hard choice to set some of them back down. ;)

I thought of spending my gift cards on the H2O stuff, however, I figured I wanted to find something a bit more lasting to use those on. As I worked my way through the store picking out gifts for friends and family back home, I spotted a display case that clinched what I would be using my gift cards to purchase. I saw a display of precious moments figurines. Now, I am not a collector of Precious Moments figurines, but I saw the sweetest Christmas figurines ever. *I will post pictures shortly, I just need to download them into my computer and then upload them into my photo account first.* One of the figurines was of a boy building a snowman and the snowman was wearing Mickey Mouse ears. It reminds me of "Aladdin". The next one I fell in love with was a little boy next to a dog house all decorated for Christmas. This one reminds me of "Goofy". It's actually perfect for him because it has Pluto on it. I love this one so very much. The last one was of a little boy opening a present that has Donald Duck popping out of it. This one reminds me of "Stitch". I cannot wait to pick out another Christmas figurine on our prince-to-be's first trip to WDW. I had to make myself not pick one out then. It's good I waited because I still over spent my gift cards by about $35 on just the three figures. BUT...I feel like I really put them to good use and I was reminded of our great trip this past September as I set those figurines out on the mantel as Christmas decorations. I hope that warm feeling and the wonderful memories always come flooding back to me as I set those figures out each year. :cloud9:

Purchases made I met up with my menfolk and we headed to the monorail platform and hopped over to Captain Cook's for a late lunch before once again boarding the monorail back to the Grand Floridian.

This time only "Aladdin" and myself chose to ride up front, the two younger boys said they would rather ride in the back so they could keep an eye out for the renegade frog.

But the views were wonderful and I really enjoyed having a bit of time alone to visit with "Aladdin". I was in awe of how handsome of a young man he is growing up to be as I saw him sitting there. So I took the liberty of snapping a few pictures. :rolleyes1 Not that I really needed a reason to do so. ;)

The sky that day was the exact same shade of blue as his eyes. I couldn't have asked for a better back drop to get two of my favorite pictures of him.

He is growing up so fast that I have to shake my head in wonder at how fast his childhood is flying by. Not only is he no longer my little boy, he is quickly becoming a young man. It's wonderful to see him turning out to be such a good person but I still get that sad feeling in the pit of my stomach every time one of these moments hits me and I realize he is far closer to being a young man then an infant. Ahhh...but enough about my weird mind wanderings. I also snapped a picture of the good looking resort we were about to pull back up to, the GF. I think it is just stunning architecture. I love the bright white, the deep color of the roof, the turrets, the clean lines and the classic look of it. It truly is pretty as a picture!

More to come (after a break for sleep ;) ).
Up next, swimming, lounging, music, dinner, beach time, glow time, fireworks, electrical parade and lots more pictures. :thumbsup2

Your ornaments sound lovely and how cute to pick out one to resemble each child :goodvibes

The monorail photos are lovely, I love the black and white one :thumbsup2

That was a lovely morning! Time to totally relax together and enjoy each other -- I think all vacations should include moments like this. :cloud9:

Can't wait to see a picture of the Precious Moments.

Alladin is so sweet, caught in a moment of time between a man and a boy. Those are their own precious moments.
