Dinner for two!
After our cabana day, we had a very special meal planned for dh and I. We were going to eat at Narcoosee's...just the two of us!! In order to do that, we had to convince the boys to go to a Disney kid's club again (OH YEAH, that was hard!!

). This time we would be doing the Neverland Club at the Poly. For some reason, when we had booked this meal the week before in the AKL concierge lounge, they told us that the Mouseketeer club at the GF would be closed this night? I have no idea if that was actually so or not, we never did check on it.
While dh took the monorail over to the Poly to drop off the boys, I rested a bit and then got ready. We should have had plenty of time for dh to get the boys to the Poly and then to get back to the GF and meet me in our room for the short walk over to Narcoosee's from the Sugarloaf building...however, it started to rain while dh and the boys were waiting for the monorail...and by rain, I do mean pour. Dh said that by the time the monorail picked them up, it was crowded with wet people who had been in the parks all day. He said it was not the best smelling monorail ride ever.

Boy, am I ever glad I missed out on that!

He also said some "crazy woman" (his name for her) had picked up a
frog (yes, a real live cousin of Kermit) and brought him with her on the monorail. He said that in this overstuffed standing room only monorail car filled with dripping wet people the "crazy woman" had to start showing off her frog, as you can imagine, it was not the best of ideas. One of the other women got panicked by the sight of the frog. Another little toddler started crying. In all of the chaos, dh said that the "crazy woman" lost the frog. It simply hopped out of her hand and into the jam packed monorail car...dh said the panicked woman who had been simply upset and scared looking/saying frogs need not be on the monorail was now almost in tears, loudly asking "where is that nasty frog", "where is that gross thing" and kept hopping from foot to foot (which caused her to rub against other people around her) and the toddler then realized the frog was "out" and started shrieking and climbing up his mom's body. Dh said it would have been funny at the time...other then it was stinky, loud and jam packed.
Dh also said it was about this time that the monorail had to stop due to lightening. So...there he was, stuck in the monorail with the smelly, dripping wet people, an escaped frog, our three boys, a panicked woman, a shrieking toddler and his exasperated parents, a "crazy woman" who kept calling for her frog by way of "here froggy froggy" and looking around like she expected it to come to her and to top it all off, the time was ticking by and he knew he still needed to shower/get dressed before dinner.
Dh said it was about 10 minutes into this "ordeal" (his words again)our boys started to worry about the frog. They kept asking him what would happen to the frog, would it get squished, would it get killed, would it get smashed, where was the frog. He said he was busy comforting them that the frog was surely hiding somewhere in the monorail car alive and well staying away from the people while the husband of the panicked woman was busy loudly telling his wife that the frog must have been squished to death by now and she should calm down. Eventually the monorail started to move once again and dh and the boys did make it to the Poly. Dh said they never did see what happened to the frog...so if one day you should hear a croaking while riding the monorail...
Notice how much detail I got from dh about this incident, this 20 minute monorail ride was described with way more detail (and words) then the entire day he spent at Blizzard Beach with "Aladdin" and "Stitch"!! Leave it to a man!
By the time dh finally made it back we had only 15 minutes until dinner, he showered faster then I thought humanly possible and was dressed and ready within 10 minutes. I was mightily impressed with his supersonic showering/getting ready abilities. I must say, I think I may be married to a real live Dash.
Quick change accomplished, dh and I headed over to Narcoosee's. The leisurely stroll I had envisioned did not take place, but it was still a nice walk (without pause). When we arrived, I was instantly overjoyed with the views I saw out of the windows! AMAZING! Water level looking straight out to the Magic Kingdom!
Dh and I checked in and sat down to wait, within minutes, we were being seated...
