Dreaming of my first Cruise

Ok after reading and learning more on how to do a pre trip report (Thanks to reading Karin's ) here goes I'm hoping today to get my confirmation from my magical TA that my final payment went thru so i can do my PIF dance
and figure out what is the next step on the DCL web site the only thing i know is i have the second seating for dinner . hoping to know more in a day or so then i can do a day by day itenary . from day 1 to day day 10 then departure day

my trip starts right here At jfk we have delta taking us to our magical place where we leave at 145pm and arrive at 443pm

then when we arrive at our happy place . time to get the mini van we are renting thru dollar

then it is off to port canaveral for the first time .
We plan on stopping along the way to grab a bite to eat fast food and since it is our first time heading this way I think it will be as i see something i will stop .

Jeff, I have made the drive to the Port from the Magic Kingdom, and if my memory serves, which is debatable, there really isn't much to stop for on the way. Once you get there, there are any number of places to eat.

Jeff, your best bet is, once you drive into Port Canaveral (the town?) there are lots of places to eat, there even is a Publix, if you need to stock up on drinks to take along on the cruise.

Ok so i have decided where we are going to eat after arrival in Orlando and before our 2 hour drive to port . Waffle House we do not get to eat here offten and they have decent food .
I'm really glad it was not a 3 hour tour (Gilligans Island )

Then it is off onthe road to port canavaral by land and sea

hope the car does not sink i need this trip

And instead of driving on the water - there is a better solution, you might consider sailing on one of those heavenly Disney ship! Disney DREAM would be nice, wouldn't it?

Debbie I so know what you mean when i was in the military many years ago i could not wait to get home to first have real pizza because the food out of NY where i was was not good . I love diners we have one in rockville centre that i not that cheap but makes reall good food .
As per waffle house i would recomand it it is a place for good late night snacks too we went there after the parks in dec I had a burger and waffles umm good

So i got some bad news the other couple that was comming with us missed there last payment and they knew it and disney cancealed there trip it was there fault cause when i went PIF i told them to go too and they knew it . so now there has to be what i hate changes !! . This does not mean im cancealing my trip because they made a mistake NO NO NO everything stays the same way but when we go cruising they are going to US and they are going to spend the 2 days with us at the port then take a shuttle to 4points sherton on I drive near US.
Back to my trip when we arrive at Port Canaveral it is off to the best western

I was told it is close to the port to take a tiny nap and head to the pool for a quick dip then i think we might do quick and easy dinner a fast food night then maybe do what i like to do scout areas to see whats in the area things to do , eat , and anything intresting ? after this it will be off to bed for a well needed good nights sleep ZZZZZ

I am sorry to hear the other couple missed their last payment and caused you to have to change your plans.
I don't know about the BW at Port Canaveral, but overall we love BW! Always clean and nice size rooms!

Aug 28th Departure day --
I get up early and will load mini van with our suit cases before everyone gets up . then hoping to have a big breakfest who? knows when i will eat we have the early arrival time of 11-1130am then again do not know what to expect first time cruising hoping to catch up with a Disfriend or two that can help along the way . while hopefully wife does pre boarding since i have already did the on line pre stuff I will return rental car to dollar theen catch up with the family a do what i do best Commando charge
