Hi Newbie Cruiser and welcome to the meet! You may get hooked on cruising and have to change your screen name to "used to be Newbie Cruiser"!

Here is something else I wrote for my last cruise meet:

To those that are new. There are lots of things happening the first day on board. If you have not done a meet before, you may get on board and think that you will be uncomfortable or be the odd one out. Please come. It is a very welcoming environment and from personal experience, you miss out on so much if you skip it. My first cruise I decided not to go because I thought it would be weird and my husband did not want to go. On my second cruise I insisted my family go and what a wonderful way to meet like-minded folks. Some of those on the meet I hardly saw the whole cruise, but there was always a smile. Others became friends. We threw cabin parties before dinner, went to shows together, danced and won contests together. I am still friends with many today. The great thing about the meet is you can go and then figure out if and whom you may want to spend more time with. If you don’t click with anyone – that is okay. I noticed my daughter, who is extremely shy (you would not know it because she really works at hiding it) has a much better time on board. Everywhere she goes, she runs into kids she met during the meet.

Got our docs today too! No stateroom numbers yet though. I'm going to withdraw our participation in the fe as we have two cabins and could be anywhere with or vgt rate and the kids will be spread out between the two and they will be fighting over who has the fe outside of their room. We can organize a meet up at the Bon voyage lounge at 3pm on embarkation if anyone is interested. The lounge is on the first floor of the grand atrium.

Great idea - I'm in!

I was wondering if anyone snagged a Cabana on the family beach? want some help paying for it?

Anyone snag Palo or Remy reservations? if not and you are still looking, they always hold some back on board.

I hope everyone will be at the meet - it really helps to have friendly faces on board.

Thanks for all the info!! I actually live north of Orlando as well, it's just easier to say Orlando than to explain where Sanford is. LOL

My daughter turns 2, 2 days before sailing and she too is shy around new people. My 4 year old, not so much. I don't think he's met a stranger he didn't like. LOL

This will be our first Disney cruise as well as first cruise period for my kids and only my second cruise, the first of which was when I was in 10th grade so it might as well be my first. lol

I'm super excited, and nervous (why? who knows!). I'll definitely try and get my group to go to the meet once we board.

I've never been to the White Cup. If I'm not at home in Sanford then I'm usually at work in Orlando. LOL

Funny story but on our cruise this past summer we set a dis meet up and only one other couple showed up, but it happened to be great childhood friends of someone my husband works with, whom he casually mentioned would be on the ship. What are the odds out of 4k passengers that the first people we met were his friends. We went to two tastings together and saw each other all over the ship and hung out on cc together.

I'm itching to pack, but I'm holding off to see what the temps are going to be as they can be from one extreme to the other this time of year.

I live southwest of Orlando in Polk County (near Animal Kingdom), but my midwife is in Sanford, and both my kids were born at the birth center there. My DD is 4 and EXTREMELY outgoing. She loves the Oceaneer's Club and will probably stay there all day every day if we let her. This is our second cruise - first was last year.

I'm itching to pack too!! But first, I must compile the various lists of helpful tips & hints. I'm hoping DS will be fully potty trained (long story) by the time we sail so he can take full advantage of the Oceaneer Club.
