Dream a Little Dream: May 8-12, 2011

I still can't find 4 day navigators! I need to know the dining rotation and get a better idea of the show schedule so we can book adult dining next week. But I want to make sure we can still fit in the show that night, pirate thing, all 3 dining rooms... I have now heard 3 different rotations with the "double" restaurant on the 1 and 4th night, 2nd and 3rd, and 3rd and 4th.

You really won't know for sure what rotation you will get. Since they have different ones. Pirate night is the night you pull out of castaway cay. That is for sure. But as far as the others your best bet is making a guess. Then set your time. It is easier to change your res. then to get one on the boat. You could try to call DCL and see if they have your rotation set. Also I know several people that do both. They either make early res or late one for whatever night they want to. That way they go to dinner and eat light with the kids and then have their own big meal. We are not planning on eating at the extra places just due to the fact we want to be able to eat up the other places. Remember you can always change it. I know that is not what you want to hear. But they do work with you aboard the ship.

I'm looking for the 4 day navigators also and have not found one yet. Hopefully someone will post one soon.

Howdy folks. My wife and I will be on this cruise. Figured I would say hello. I'm Paul, wife is Alicia. Can't wait to set sail on the Dream!!

Has everyone heard of the next check in with Disney Cruise...I am unsure on how I feel about it. :confused3

But after so thinking  and the stories I heard I guess it is a good thing. Here it goes I hope you all understand it.

When you log on line to fill out our forms..which yes is done 75 days out (90 days for castaway club) You have to pick your check in time. They are doing this to easy the lines at port. They will have different times to choose from and only so many guests per time slot.

So since we are cast away club members I get to log in on Feb 7th and fill out my forms and do online check in. I also get to bok shore trips and the adult only rest. But now I also get to pick (or have to) the time I should arrive at the terminal for boarding. It will be under online check in. :surfweb:

Any questions yet......ok so if you lon online now and click on the online check in tab on the left you can watch a goofy movie showing you and telling you why they are doing this. It is cute.

I hope I explained this well enough for you. If you have any questions please ask and I will try to answer them.

I can tell you they have not said how many staterooms per time slot will be taken. They also have not said if you will be allowed in the terminal before your time.

Our ship is SOLD OUT...so there will be about 4,000 people sailing with us. So log on early and get what you want. You can start logging in at midnight. Keep that in mind.

And is anyone else in a CAT 5E I heard fun news about that. Let me know and I will post it.:woohoo:

Thanks for the head's up on this. This is my first Disney cruise so I can't do the on-line deal until 2/25. I certainly hope I can get a early time.

Hope you'll enjoy your trip with us and this thread.

:tinker:Poussière de fée!

Thanks. This will be our third cruise. We just got off the Wonder in December. The Dream looks awesome. We are really looking forward to the new dining options. :thumbsup2

Do we have to pay in full, before we can go online?

No, you can check your reservation and view the video without being paid in full, But, you will not be able to make other dining reservations, view your paperwork, or make reservations for shore excursions until you're paid in full. Also you can't make any of these reservations until 45 days before the cruise if this is your first Disney cruise - February 22 for us.

I was able to check in online last night. All port arrival times were available.

There are still Palo dinners and Palo High Teas available. As of now, there are no Brunch reservations available. It is my understanding that more may open up at the 90 day mark.

There are still some massage times available everyday.

Remy is also still available.

We have about 2 feet of snow here in Skokie. It is a good day to work on Fish Extender gifts. :)

Thanks for the info...we can do ours on Monday and I will be online at midnight on sunday getting us all set. I really want to get the early arrival time since last time we were like the last group to get on. Lets put it this way we did not even get a group number we just walked right on that is how last we were. So I hope this time we can get on earlier.

For this reason we decided not to use DCL transfer, and are renting a car so we can arrive earlier at the port. We will be at Bay Lake Tower prior to the cruise, and are picking up a rental car on Saturday.

we too rented a car and even are staying a hotel the night before right by port. But from what I was told your check in time will be printed on the paperwork and there is no getting until that time. They are doing this just to keep the lines down. I did not like this at 1st but then after thinking about it. I do not want to wait in line for an hour just to get thru tsa to enter the treminal. I think it will work out fine. Just log on early and get the time you want. I have been told the earliest time is 1030 am so that is what I am going for.:woohoo: I wll let you know what I see is left on Monday after I pick as a castaway club member.

That is our plan as well- an earlier boarding time. I am also still hung up on the dining rotation. Not so much exactly which night is which dining room, but what nights to they repeat. On our last cruise the dining room repeated on the first and last night. But I am hearing just about every combination now on the Dream and do not know when to book Palo to go on the "repeat" night. I saw some posts that said the 3rd and 4th night and some said the 2nd and 3rd nights repeated?! Also I am wondering if the Sail Away party overlaps with the first show which I thought was at 5pm, but also more things I don't know. But what I do know is i need to pay for my cruise soon.

What I have found in my time on the wonder is that they repeat the last night. As far as the show time and sailaway party I have not heard but if I do I will post it for you right away. YES PAY FOR THE TRIP NOW....you do not want to wait for the 22nd if will slow you down in picking boarding time and shore trips. Pay for it the sooner right now then the better. They will not let you book that until yor payment clears. Since this is your 1st trip you have a little time but not much. :yay: and let me tell you that paid in full feeling is great.

OK, I'm confused  which is not unusual at times. So on Feb 22, I can obtain my boarding time? I bet by then most of the early times will be gone.

Anyone getting "cold feet" about this cruise? I tend to be a worry wart but there are many posts about how disorgazined the ship is and there are long lines for everything.

I am a Type A, worry wart. My sister is getting married on the cruise, which is exciting, but I want everything to schedule out perfectly for us and there are so many unknowns. I am reading about the disorganization, the Aqua Duck not working, AP not working. I don't know the repeat dining days, etc. so I can't schedule Palo for all of us.

But Disney excels at customer service. They have 3 months to work things out and I bet everything workable will be worked out by May 8th. I believe that. I expect each month more and more magical posts and trip reports will be coming.
I like this thread the best. You all seem to be a positive, yet practical group. I should stop combing through all the new Dream posts daily and just wait for one of you to tell me the Navigators are finally posted and get back to worrying about --do I rent a car for the week or just a day? What day should we go to which parks? How many days do I have left on my passes anyway? Who is going to watch the dog? You know all the regular stuff. And put a hold on the micro managing of the cruise for a little while longer.
