Dream 8a

Yes, that would work (and she offered to give up the bed). I did like the thought of having the additional beds for increased flexibility.
And I don't think the lack of a split bath will be much of a problem.

Mom in the pullout room and you and and DD in bedroom?

Next question is it a flip down sofa (sleeps 1) or a pull out sofa bed (sleeps 2), hmmmm.....

I thought the 8As had 2 large portholes. This looks like a Veranda room. I'm confused now. :confused3 Thanks for posting them though because this gives a great idea on how they look. :goodvibes

As noted, 1 porthole in bedroom and 1 porthole in room with couch.

It is from both 5020 and 5022.

My friends have these rooms booked for our cruise this August as connecting rooms.

I like that floor plan, as long as the privacy divider still exists. Does anyone know that? :goodvibes Also, I don't see the murphy bed, or the pull down. Am I missing something? Finally, is there a TV on the wall opposit the bed?

Better than a privacy divider, you have a physical wall to divide the space. Only question - where is the entrance door (in bedroom or living room area?)

8a rooms only sleep up to 4, so we knew they were going to be missing 1 bed. I assume that the sofa bed is a traditional pull out 2 person sofa bed versus the flip over bed if it sleeps 4, since there is no apparent ceiling bed or murphy bed.

So can you have ajoining staterooms in this category? Would end up being alot of room!!:cool1:

Yes

I would be very interested to know if there is a TV on the Bed side of the room and if there is a divider screen.

I am really liking this room, can't wait to see the Cat 8A HCP, 6014. I know that the bathroom will be different, as it needs to be a roll in shower with seat.

Per comments on the FB photo, there is a TV in both rooms.

I'm booked with 4 people in an 8A. Booked it online through Disney. I was hoping for a pull down bed but I guess I have to wait and see for my specific room.

Not happy if there is no split bath. Ugh!

Since my friends only have 2 adults and 3 kids booked across their 2 8A rooms, they should be okay. But agree that it's odd that they aren't split, and apparently it's pretty small, so they didn't use the extra room to make the bathroom bigger.

Noticed the Disney website lists 8A as "split bath with round tub and shower (in most)."

I'm wondering if some have split baths and some don't. The rest of of category 8's do not have the (in most) listed with them. Perhaps a difference between regular and HA?

Yay! I love it. I have room 5518 in a month and 5520 in November. I booked 4 people in it for November. Just me and the DH for February. Now I am really excited.

The person that posted these images on the TA's Facebook page says they are of room 5020 and 5022, which are connecting rooms. 5018 would be a H.A. room, probably with a larger bath and railings. Not sure if that would have the round shower or not. Right above on Deck 6 are the other 8A rooms, at it looks like the H.A. rooms (6510/6512/6012/6014) look bigger on the deck plan image than the regular 8A rooms (6016/6514).

I've now changed my Fantasy reservation from June 2012 8C to two weeks early in May with an 8A room (6016). Price difference was $240. If I would have stayed on the June cruise, I'd have to go with a 8A on Deck 5 and the price difference would have been $400.

I had asked about the split bath feature to a DCL rep via email. See an exerpt from the response below.

>> Please be assured, your stateroom #6016 will definitely have the split
>> bath feature. That means it will be as follows:
>> -One side has a commode, vanity mirror, and sink
>> -The other side has vanity mirror, sink and round tub/shower. The
> round
>> tub has a built-in seat, a rain shower head and a hand-held shower.

This seems strange given the pics we are seeing.

Hmm, at this point I'd wait for a real picture of room 6016 (or any other 8A room) to know for sure about the split bath and round shower. It's not a huge deal to me, but would still be nice to have that extra bathroom space. All we know at this point is that the room 5020/5022 don't have the "family" type shower.

I brightened one of the pictures so you can see more of the desk area:

The FB poster wrote that it's a flip-over 1 person sofa, and not a 2 person sleep sofa. So now I'm wondering if there is a murphy bed in the room, since there seems to be a lot of room where the person is standing to take the 1 picture, given that you can see the end of the couch, and can see that the desk extends further past the couch end.

I have looked at the pictures several times and it seems to me that the bathroom and entrance are located in the bed area. The pictures of the living room area are interesting. It obviously has a long desk centered on the wall with a couch near the porthole but in the other picture showing the couch you see a wardrobe (closet) at the far end. That cannot be the same couch but you can clearly see the end of the desk. It can't be the same couch because the first couch is between the porthole and opening and the second pictures clearly shows the couch next to the warddrobe. MAYBE there is 2 couches, hence sleeping 4 people. Any thoguhts?

I think they said one image was from 5020 and from 5022. Maybe that is why the couch area looks different.

You are probably correct but I sure hope I am. I have those 2 rooms booked next January so am very interested for more reports. I am bummed about the lack of split bath. I thought that was a Disney signature! Oh, well. Space and double portholes make up for it.

Okay, I realize it is in fact two different rooms because if you look carefully at the desk the TV is in different locations. Darn!

Glad I stumbled onto this thread! We're booked on the Fantasy in May 2012 and had picked an 11C room on Deck 2 (wasn't looking forward to a low deck, just because I've never been below Deck 5) - thought the difference in price would be significant - apparently I was wrong.

Was able to switch one of our two cabins to a Cat 8A (5520) - it just looks so much roomier - or at least it gives each person their own defined area. Since we were booked in a Cat 11, we are prepared for the single bath.

Looking at the deck plans for the Dream/Fantasy, there appear to be 12 of these rooms (1 handicapped): 5018/20/22, 5518/20/22, 6012/14/16, 6510/12/14

Thanks for sharing.
