Drawf mine train - are we setting ourselves up for disappointment?

It was open for a brief time this morning and we were lucky enough to ride it.
It is short but it stops/slows a couple of times to show off the atmospheric touches. I would describe it as 30% Matterhorn and 70% Pirates of the Caribbean.

I think a large group of people who will be disappointed in SDMT will be the ones who want this one ride to compare to all of Harry Potter Land at Universal. The entire Fantasyland expansion was a response to the original Harry Potter and SDMT has the unfortunate problem of opening so close to HP part II. Disney dropped the ball with Harry Potter and their response to it and one ride, no matter how good, can not make up for that failure.

I'm just expecting a solid D Ticket, a good and entertaining ride. This won't be another Radiator Springs Racers, and was never intended to be.

I'm surprised by all the hype honestly. Probably due to it taking so. dang. long. to complete, it built up the suspense.

They've said all along that it will be in between thrill level of Barnstormer and BTM. i.e. tame. I just hope there is super duper theming. That will make it a success for me.

I love massive coasters, but that's not what this ride was ever intended to be.
