Drama, Please End...Fun, Please Begin...A Sept TR Updated 10/31

Here we are at day 6 already. Vacation was flying by. The night before we decided that we would be going off site for breakfast. Joe was having trouble with his feet and wanted to get new shoes so we were going to the Nike outlet as well.

We decided on "poisonous Perkins" for breakfast. You may be asking why we'd go to a place that we have nicknamed "poisonous." Well, they opened a new Perkins here in town several years back. Joe and I went for breakfast. Later that day, I ended up at the ER...not because of what I ate, but because I had glass in my foot. In the waiting room were three people who all ate at the same Perkins! They were all having a conversation and all of them had eaten there that day....so had we. Turns out that we were fine but man, did that scare me. We ended up walking out though and Joe "operated" to get the glass out of my foot. After several hours waiting, I just wanted to go home.

Anywho, back to my TR.

We went to the Perkins near Crossroads. Our waitress was sort of interesting. There were six of us and she didn't write down a thing. She had a Minnie Mouse sort of voice from what I put in my trip notes. I was amazed at what she was able to remember. Later on that week we compared our bill to that of our breakfast at Kona. Guess what was more expensive...yep, poinsonous Perkins. ;) By the way, we do love the Perkins in Orlando and go there every visit at least once.

This is what I had and they were delicious!

Someone at the table had pancakes and check out the hidden Mickey. Thanks Perkins for keeping the magic alive!

After breakfast, we headed down the street to the outlet mall. I can never remember exactly what outlet mall it is though. We went straight for the Nike store. We may as well have been in Siberia. It was freaking freezing in that store. So cold that mom and I went outside while the rest of the family shopped. Joe got his shoes and my nephew got a pair as well.

From there we went to the Disney outlet. What a lame store. Holy crap, that place was almost scary. I did manage to find very inexpensive scrapbooking supplies and pixie dust for my holiday cards. Yep, I am one of those that loads my holiday cards with sprinkles.

From there we went back to DTD. I STILL needed to find a dang shirt for our photoshoot that was fastly approaching. Yes, I had set the whole stupid "earth tone" rule and wouldn't you know it...not a single earth tone polo in the joint so far.

We went to World of Disney first.

Disney2010Sony701.jpg

I remember getting a bunch of stuff and having it sent back to the resort, but ask me now what I got....not a clue.

We then went to Team Mickey.

And then Tren D, where I got two pair of earrings that I love. One silver, the other gold.

Disney2010Sony699.jpg

From there to Once Upon a Toy for more vinylmation trading.

Disney2010Sony698.jpg

I had been walking around with two in my bag to trade. I told Joe that I wanted to be done buying them because honestly, had we just spent $240 we'd have the entire TS set and we were close to that amount by this time. Well, he got another one and I think my brother pushed him to do it. :rolleyes1:scared1:

Next we went to Goofy's again. My bro wanted to get sugar free candy for his girlfriend and I really wanted a chocolate covered pretzel.

All of our shopping complete, we went back to our resort to determine what we'd do next since we pitched our itinerary out the window the night before.

My sister, nephew and I decided to head over to MK. I really wanted to see the parade at 3. The rest of the family stayed back at WL.

We took the boat over from WL.

Disney2010Sony703.jpg

We made our way down Main Street and talked about what to do first.

Disney2010Sony704.jpg

We had some time before we needed to pick our parade spot so we decided to have lunch at Pecos Bills.

Disney2010Sony705.jpg

Disney2010Sony706.jpg

I used the self service CS machines. Those things are pretty cool.

It was difficult to find a table, but eventually I was able to find one. I looked over and noticed that someone left a cell phone plugged in to a nearby outlet. They never did come back and get it and the people at the next table said it had been there the whole time that they were eating. Yikes, I hope the owner eventually went back to get it.

After we ate, I picked a spot in Frontierland and sat down for a bit while my sister and nephew went on a ride. I can't remember exactly which one though.

I took a couple of pictures and just soaked in the magic by myself.

These guys came along and entertained everyone for a few minutes.

It was getting interesting now, as the streets were starting to look like this in anticipation for the parade.

Disney2010Sony737.jpg

My sister and nephew came back and were pretty much squeezed out of our spot. There were a ton of people that just came by, MOVED OUR STUFF, and took a seat. We had water bottles and things on the ground and apparently they planned to sit there instead.

My nephew and I got up and went towards the rope to try and take pictures. All of a sudden this lady shoves her way over and LEANS in to take her shots so that no one else could take a picture unless that had her big ol' head smack dab in the middle of their shot! She squeezed out this child in a stroller. I told the dad to just move in near me and he spent the entire time dodging this lady who was sure to fall on his child. It got so bad that I said "REALLY?" Well, isn't that amazing that the same lady that I asked nicely in English to please stay behind the rope so that we could all see suddenly looks over and gives me the stink eye! The man next to me said thanks as it seemed to do the trick and his child was no longer at risk of her falling on top of the stroller. People are so dang rude!

Anywho, I managed to get some pictures of the parade. It's funny because I've never seen this parade from anywhere aside from Main Street.

After the parade we were going to head back to the resort. I really wanted to see Philharmagic though so we made a little detour.

I love Philharmagic. I could sit in there and watch the show over and over again and not get bored.

We headed back to our resort as we had an ADR at Kouzzina that night that we were really looking forward to.

What is with ALL the RUDE people this year at Disney? I was amazed at the rudeness we encountered. I usually don't let things bother me, but it just seems that more and more people have a "selfish" attitude and it is all about "me" and the he double hockey sticks with everyone else.

Despite it all, you got some great parade pictures.

I'm with you...I could sit and watch Philharmagic over and over again and never get bored.

I think I know which Disney outlet you went too...and it is the crummiest of the three we go to.

When we got back to the resort, these were waiting for us. Our Mousekeeper Maria had left us quite a few towel animals thus far.

Disney2010Sony844.jpg

We decided to take one car over to the Boardwalk. When we got there, somehow we missed the self park and ended up in way in the back of some lot that appeared to be cast parking since there were no parking passes on the dashboards of the cars. We decided we'd ask the valet once we got up there if it was okay to stay there.

It was quite the walk to The Boardwalk but it gave me time to take a few pictures.

You may be thinking that it looks like this is going to be a drama free day. Hmm, could it be?

Those pictures are amazing!! Great update....cannot believe that woman at the parade...and she gives you the stink eye.....wow...what else can you say?

That burger from Pecos Bill's looks delish!! Can you believe we have never eaten there? Next time.....;)

:cloud9:
I just DIED of jealousy. DIED!

You still got the best shot last year. You had Snow White too! :goodvibes

That woman at the parade was a piece of work. I felt so bad for the dad that was next to me.

You should try Pecos Bill's. It's one of my favorite CS places. :goodvibes

I just remembered something pretty important.

While we were waiting for the boat to MK I got a text from Stefy telling me that Splash was on FIRE earlier that day!:scared1::eek:

There were people talking about it on the boat over as well and we were all curious as to if it would be open. I had also heard that they had evaculated Frontierland for a bit as well.

By the time we got to Pecos Bills, Splash had reopened.

How could I forget that???? There was so much drama during this trip that I guess it just slipped my mind. :confused3:guilty:

Hi, Sophia. I think you missed my post earlier (I think it was between your two updates). I can't believe how rude people were this trip. And I remember you telling me about Splash Mountain. That must have been scary.

Kathy,

I did miss your post! Thanks for letting me know.

Rude people were all over the dang place this year. It was amazing.

I love Philharmagic. Every time I see it, it's like the first time all over again. I get that same feeling.

This was definitely the crummiest outlet of them all. We usually just go to the Nike store and that's it. Had it not been 10 below zero in there, I probably would not have gone to the Disney outlet store at all. THAT store was definitely creepy. :scared1:

Wow - I can't believe how quickly you're getting your TR done! I just now saw it (and read through it) today!

As I was reading, I thought, "didn't we have a trip like this?" so I had to go back and find notes on it. Mine was just the first couple of days, though. Traffic put us an hour behind schedule, DH's water bottle leaked all over my bag (2/3 of my clothes were wet), our flight was delayed 3 hours, we got to our hotel to find it had been ON FIRE and we couldn't get in after a LONG day of travel, finally changed hotels at midnight and then had to change back the next day. After that it got better. I hope your trip continues to improve. :)

Your DN has sure grown up since earlier pics I saw of him!

Oh, and I'm surprised by the crowds in your photos. We were there Sept. 3 (Friday before Labor Day) and Magic Kingdom was empty! We had a blast with no lines!

:welcome: It's nice to have you along.

I think I would have lost it if the hotel had been on fire. :sad2:

I was wondering if Labor Day weekend was crowded. We had crowds but we really didn't have too long of a wait...except for EMH night! :scared1:

Aww I miss MNSSHP!!! I really want to go again!

Looks like you had a fun time at WCC. I love the huge refill glass. :lmao: When we went we had a good time but nothing particularly funny like that happened. Well, there were the few people who would ask for ketcup and then all the kids would have to bring their bottle from their table. So much fun.

Tiana and Naveen are awesome. I was also really impressed with how much time they spent with everyone. We also had a little food conversation, of course ours wall all about the cheese.

Hi! I started reading your report this morning and almost dropped my kids off late to school because I couldnt stop reading!:goodvibes Going back now to finish up!!

I just read the whole thing!

I don't think it was just your trip that had higher than normal levels of drama around this time, things were just a little 'off' at Disney this September, it seems!

But I am enjoying your report, craptastic stuff and all! :goodvibes

Hi Sophia!!! WOW! Those were some seriously amazing pics of the parade. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr-eat job!

ON FIRE??!! That's rather scary!!

You got amazing parade pictures!! I love the shot of Dale (or is it Chip??)
I'm right there with you about Philharmagic-- love the music. Love everything about it!

Ohh i hope your day stays drama free. Love the MNSSHP pictures. Can't wait until next year when (hopefully) we get to go!

Can't wait to hear how you liked Kouzzina. I can't decide if I want to try it or not.

P.S. Way to go. You got back after me, and your trip was like 3 times as long and you're further along than I am :rotfl:

We've been thinking about changing our vacation time to February and then going for a weekend around our anniversary in September, but I don't want to miss MNSSHP. :wizard:

WCC was fun, although a bit loud at times. ;)

I really enjoyed our interaction with Tiana and Naveen. :goodvibes

:welcome: Glad to have you here! What was up this year for September trips? I've been reading a few TR's lately that also had drama. :confused3

Yep, craptastic seems to describe perfectly some of our adventures this year. :lmao:

Hi Sophia!!! WOW! Those were some seriously amazing pics of the parade. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr-eat job!

ON FIRE??!! That's rather scary!!

Thanks Liesa.

I still don't know exactly what was on fire but as soon as I heard, I thought to myself....."figures"....the way things were going, nothing surprised me.

You got amazing parade pictures!! I love the shot of Dale (or is it Chip??)
I'm right there with you about Philharmagic-- love the music. Love everything about it!

Thanks. Chip is the one with the dark nose. The only way I can tell them apart is to think about Chip having the "chocolate chip" nose. ;)

I too love everything about Philharmagic. The only thing I'd change is to make it longer. :lmao:

Ohh i hope your day stays drama free. Love the MNSSHP pictures. Can't wait until next year when (hopefully) we get to go!

I have been trying to move along on my TR since I really only have the weekend to get to it and I'm anxious to start my PTR for next year too. :goodvibes

Have you been to MNSSHP yet? It's a lot of fun. I like it better than the Pirate and Princess Party that they use to have. Never been to MVMCP though. Would love to do that once too.

I'm enjoying your TR. :goodvibes

Stay tuned for thoughts on Kouzzina. ;)
