Drama, Please End...Fun, Please Begin...A Sept TR Updated 10/31

I think the best place to get coffee on Disney property is the Kona Cafe. Are you going to Kona?

The Kona menu doesn't really appeal to us-- although DBF loves the idea of pressed pot coffee. We usually like to save our dining credits for dinners. We're looking to do different things during our next trip, though, so maybe we will book a breakfast. Thanks for the tip!

We usually do Kona out of pocket and save our dining credits as well. They are actually less expensive than going to say Denny's or Perkins. :scared1: If you have the chance, you should give it a try, especially if your DH likes coffee. They have the best!!!

I'm so mad.......

I did an entire update and lost it!!!!!! :scared1::eek::scared1:

I guess I will have to wait and start over after work. :sad2:

Okay, I am FINALLY caught up. First, let me just say that Mark and I thorougly enjoyed our time with you and Joe and the rest of your family. I am so glad that we were able to work it out.

Now, I jotted down some notes of things to comment on (I won't comment on everything or this could become a book :rotfl:).

As I knew some of the drama of the trip from our meeting, I still can't get over the lightening striking TOT--I would have been nuts if I had been on it.

I'm sorry about the car rental issues; we weren't too happy with Alamo ourselves this year. You took great pictures of WL; and I agree with you -- Roaring Forks is AWFUL!

I love the photo of you and Joe with Karin and Tom--what GREAT people.

Your AK day sounds great and I can't believe Joe got hit by a flying duck. :rotfl:

I'm glad your meal at Fulton's was good...but sorry you got sick. Love your shopping day--what fun. We LOVE Mama Melrose too (we hope to be back there next year).

You poor thing! I can't even COUNT how many times that has happened to me. I finally learned my lesson: type it into Word, even inserting the code from your photo server and then copy and paste. It's just too heartbreaking to lose several hours of work!!!

We look forward to seeing all your pictures. We will be making the trip to 'house of the mouse' next Sep.
Hope to see you there.

Let's try this again and hope I don't lose en entire update.......

I was looking forward to day 5 for a lot of reasons:

1. It was a new day and hopefully nothing craptastic would happen
2. We were meeting Labsrus! (C&M) after breakfast at CP
3. We were meeting charlfours (Stephanie, Allyn and Lilian) at MNSSHP

Thank goodness I called the front desk the night before to ask what time the first boat to MK left. Response: 30 minutes before park opened. Well, that wouldn't work because we had an ADR an hour before the park opened. That meant that we'd drive over. We figured that I'd drive one car to MK and Joe would go and get my bro and meet us there. Perfect plan, right?

My mom, sister, nephew and I make our way to MK. We got a fantabulous parking spot in the very first row past handicap parking. Yay, that's good!

I took these as we walked to the monorail.

Notice anything missing from the pictures? Well, that would be people...including CM's.

We walked over to get on the monorail to MK. Yeah, no such luck. Sorry, can't take that one.... We searched for a CM to see if we could take the resort monorail and found some guy....who wasn't a monorail dude and had no clue but he did find a monorail CM for us...they were no place to be found when we looked for them.

They confirmed that we had to take the resort monorail. No problem, or so we thought. We got on and of course, there was no one on but us and a couple of other people in another car. The thing starts leaving the station and all we heard was a huge scrape and a thump or two. We then stopped. All this time I am texting Joe who isn't even at MK parking yet and our ADR was in less than 15 minutes.

The monorail took off again and we got the same thing......scrape and a thump. He kept going. Pulled ijto the Poly, loaded a few people, left again and you guessed it....scrape, thump, stop. Got to the GF, loaded a few people, left again and again......scrape, thump and stop.

We pretty much crawled to MK. All I wanted to do was get off that thing. We get to MK and it was less than 10 minutes before our ADR. I sent Joe a text and he said they were on a monrail. Ok, cool, we'll wait here....even though the whole idea of me getting the early ADR was so that I could take empty picutures of MK.

I took these while we waited:

Another police dog on duty..........

Disney2010Sony536.jpg

Once they got there we had to high tail it to CP...as in run, which meant NO PICTURES FOR ME! Dang, I was mad.

Ok, so I got ONE picture............

Disney2010Sony537.jpg

Next up.....did we make it to CP in time?

We really enjoyed meeting you both a well. I'm glad that we were able to work it out.

My God the drama this year was insane.

I am going to put Mama's on the list for next year as a must do. We loved it. Me getting sick after Fulton's was my own dang fault. I should have told them no butter on the plate at all. me + butter = disaster.

I think Roaring Forks is by far the worst CS place on property. It wouldn't stop me from staying at WL though. ;)

We really enjoyed our time with Karin and Tom. I wish we could have spent more time with them.

I am still wishing that I could have seen the flying duck!

Stefy told me the same thing...type it in Word first! I've now learned my lesson. I was so mad!

We look forward to seeing all your pictures. We will be making the trip to 'house of the mouse' next Sep.
Hope to see you there.

All of my pictures are digital so I don't have any to bring to dinner tonight. :sad2:

We did book for next year, but we're going about a week later. I think our dates overlap though. :wizard:

None of us ever ran track, but we sure did sprint to CP. We were 10 minutes past our ADR time and I was getting worried. We got there and of course, there was a HUGE line. I checked us in and got this:

Disney2010Sony538.jpg

You'd think that I'd have had some time for pictures. Nope, for the first time ever, we were called so fast that I didn't have time to get my camera out of the bag. I was sorta sad, to be honest.

We were seated right away.

Disney2010Sony541.jpg

Disney2010Sony542.jpg

The first character to come by was Eeyore. He's my favorite of the Pooh gang.

Disney2010Sony543.jpg

Disney2010Sony544.jpg

Next was Piglet. My brother is a Piglet hater. Has been all his life.

Disney2010Sony545.jpg

Disney2010Sony546.jpg

Disney2010Sony564.jpg

Disney2010Sony563.jpg

Disney2010Sony548.jpg

Next up was T-I-double G-RRRRR

Disney2010Sony551.jpg

The characters came relatively quick so we waited before getting breakfast.

Disney2010Sony555.jpg

Anyone ever had Pooh's Peach Whateverthisis? OMG, it is sooooooo yummy.

Disney2010Sony554.jpg

Next up was Pooh himself!

Disney2010Sony559.jpg

Disney2010Sony560.jpg

When we left CP, I stopped to take these:

Disney2010Sony567.jpg

Disney2010Sony568.jpg

Disney2010Sony569.jpg

Joe took this one:

Disney2010Sony570.jpg

After we ate I sent C&M (I have to remember to ask them if I can use their names or not tonight...we're having dinner with them! :goodvibes) a text to see if they were in the park yet. They were making their way in so we decided to meet in Adventureland.

Disney2010Sony577.jpg

Disney2010Sony565.jpg

I don't remember if it was me that wanted to ride the Carpets or if it my nephew wanted to ride. Anyway, he said he'd ride with me so we got in line. Honestly, we just boarded our carpet. Well, I told him not to make the thing go up and down. Did he listen? Well, of course not...he's 13. Needless to say I was screaching like a 3 year old and wanted OFF that dang ride immediately. He was laughing. Meanwhile C&M had met up with the rest of the family and they were all witnessing my screaching.

After the ride ended, we were let out the gate by none other than Aladdin and Jasmine. Did I have a camera ready? Of course not! Ugh.......

We all decided to ride PotC together.

Disney2010Sony578.jpg

After PotC, we all walked over Splash. As some of you know, I didn't ride Spash for years and years. Now I love it...well, at least I use to love it. Apparently they switched up the timing of the ride. You are all guaranteed to get soaked now. As a car comes down the huge hill, the water cannons go off. Well, they now hold a car that right in the line of fire! Every single time! Honestly, we were soaked. Drowned rat soaked. Gross soaked! I felt so bad. We just met C&M minutes before and I get the supid idea to ride Splash and them soaked! Ugh!

Disney2010Sony582.jpg

Disney2010Sony583.jpg

Disney2010Sony584.jpg

Disney2010Sony585.jpg

Next we went over to BTMRR, which was a walk on. That was awesome. Secretly I was hoping that we'd air dry a bit while riding.

Disney2010Sony587.jpg

After that we didn't know where we were going to go. C&M had said earlier that they were going to to go Tom Sawyer's Island. After we rode BTMRR, we headed that way. C&M were still waiting for the boat over so we all were able to ride over together. I had never been before so this was a first for me. Am I missing something? I was really disappointed. Mom nearly freaked in one of the mine thingys. It was so hard for her to walk. I did walk over the barrel bridge though. Figured why not since I was over there.

Disney2010Sony589.jpg

Disney2010Sony591.jpg

Disney2010Sony603.jpg

Took a couple of pictures of the Libery Boat too and what would become our next stop...HM

Disney2010Sony593.jpg

Disney2010Sony595.jpg

Disney2010Sony596.jpg

Disney2010Sony598.jpg

We were still pretty wet and our original intention was not to stay at MK too long since we were going to MNSSHP that night and we didn't want to wear ourselves out. We decided though that we'd ride HM aka as "the smelly ride" which is what my mom calls it.

Disney2010Sony605.jpg

Disney2010Sony607.jpg

Disney2010Sony610.jpg

Disney2010Sony615.jpg

After HM, we made our way back to WL, via the boat. We decided that since we had our cars in great spots, we'd leave them there since we were headed back for the party anyway.

I took this on the way out.

Disney2010Sony624.jpg

And these on the boat back to WL.

Hi Sophia!

I wanted to let you know we got home this morning and I am going to sit down with a cup of tea and catch up on your TR!! It was so wonderful to spend time with all of you and thanks again for breakfast....we really enjoyed our time with you guys....

Now .... off to catch up!!!

Awesome update, Sophia. SOrry about your not being able to get pictures before breakfast. We had an 8:05 breakfast and I forgot to take many pictures (there were a lot of things I forgot to do this trip).

I love all the pics with the characters (Eeyore is Mark's favorite; I lov Eeyore but Tigger wins out just a tad).

We didn't ride Splash Mountain after you told me the story (I knew Mark would be ticked especially since we had to drive to Marco later that day).

Smart move leaving the car for MNSSHP!

Great update, Sophia!

I still can't get over all the mishaps that happened during your trip. But I could have told you that getting to the MK in the morning can be an ordeal - been there, done that (several times for ADRs and tours! Freaks me out to be late for a tour :scared1:)

Smart move leaving the car in the "preferred" spot (that's what we call it! :lmao:)

Can I second the "word" option for trip reports! Learned that the hard way, I am no longer taking a risk. :goodvibes

Sophia, you can use our names, that is fine.
So for all of you that are following Sophia's trip report, Labsrus1 = Chuck and Mary :cool1:

I love all of your pictures, but the ones of the Contemporary are my favorite! They look gorgeous!

Hi! I was going to text Jasmine to see if you were home yet. I was worried though because I knew that you had the special texting plan but I didn't know if it was for a limited time.

It was so nice to meet the both of you and spend some time together. Breakfast was our pleasure.

I can't wait to hear all about your trip!!

I can't believe how many things I forgot to do this trip!:scared1: Hat pictures being one of them.

I do love Tigger too but there is just something about Eeyore!

We only rode Splash that one time. OMG, we were drenched!

Oh Karin, there were so many mishaps! They gave us something to laugh about after a while. :rotfl:

I like it..."preferred" spot. I think I'm going to use that next time.

I am using Word for my updates now. ;) I am beginning to think that many of us have learned a lesson!!!

Sophia, you can use our names, that is fine.

Everyone, meet Chuck and Mary a.k.a. Labsrus1 :teeth:

We'll see you shortly! We are leaving here soon to meet you both for dinner!

I love all of your pictures, but the ones of the Contemporary are my favorite! They look gorgeous!

Thanks! I took several during our trip. It's a great view from the boat from WL to MK!
