Draining of 20,000 Leagues Lagoon

The Muppets are also "non-disney" but disney bought the rights to them. I would love a HP ride

Can you imagine what the "Imagineers" could do with a Harry Potter attraction??? That would be great!!! So many possibilities!!! And you know it would be a hit!!!

Journey to the Centre of the Earth will work better, I think.

Harry Potter at WDW! too cool..........i remember going on the 20,000 leagues under the sea ride when i was a kid..... it was cool back then.....

HP would be a good addition as it would bring a contemporary element to MK(good for business). :earsboy:

Goodness. I knew this would happen eventually. Both my dd and ds think Ariel and her family live in there :) It worked out nicely since Ariel had her meet/greet next door to the lagoon.
We are going November 26. I wonder where I can say they moved LOL

I believe I read recently that the Winnie the Pooh lawsuits had been settled.

As for HP not being Disney-related, that may be true, but other attractions aren't either. I don't think the Indiana Jones or Star Wars movie series were Disney. Were they? I don't think so, but am not 100% sure.

Having said that, I guess most of the MK attractions are "Disney", but, at the same time, some came from books that had nothing to do with Disney when written (e.g., Swiss Family Robinson, the Brer Rabbit books).

Yeah...I guess you guys are right...many of the attractions at Disney are not Disney related. I don't know why, but it is a little hard for me to imagine a HP attraction at Disney. It would be wonderful, though!

Is Ariel's Grotto (where you can meet Ariel) closed because of the revamp? If so, is there another place to meet her?

Thanks!
Kathy

Hey, Korey.

I know what you mean, though. It seems kinda strange. As long as Mickey remains the sorcerer's apprentice, I'll be okay with it, I guess!

For those of you that can not see the pictures on the wdwmagic.com site, try disabling your anti virus software temporarely. Depending on the settings it make be blocking the images. I know that I have had to do this in the past to see the images.

GAkitkat Is Ariel's Grotto (where you can meet Ariel) closed because of the revamp? If so, is there another place to meet her?

I believe that I saw that it was still open through a pathway that they made with the boarded walls that are covering up the drained lagoon. I saw lights on the night that we were there. Anyone else know if it is, in fact, still open?

Korey

Ariel's grotto is still open and you can still meet Ariel. The same entrance (behind dumbo ride) is used as before just the lagoon side is boarded up. We were there from 6/27/04 to 7/1/04 and my DD was able to see her favorite mermaid.

I think that Harry Potter would work better in MGM which really needs help anyway. After all, there's a lot at MGM that isn't actually Disney. I know that Winnie the Pooh is an outside thing too but it still seems like Disney somehow.

We saw the drained hole last month and I agree that it really smells awful! DS found a crack and we managed to see that the lagoon was just a big muddy hole.
