DQ Ticket Question

I'm not sure where to ask this but I purchased a DQ ticket from Ticketmania in March for our May trip. After one visit, my grandson had to have more of DQ. Actually he would have spent every waking hour there if permitted. On his second day I asked if I could apply the cost of the one day ticket to an annual pass. They were happy to accommodate me but the annual pass was dated from date of purchase, not date of first use. Is this correct?
