Can anyone give me any feedback on the resorts at downtown Disney?

I have only ever stayed on site but am considering a quick trip down and to convince DH the price will need to be right. I am thinking of doing a Downtown Disney hotel and renting a car. Thoughts opinions? Personal experience? Would like any and all feedback.

Staying onsite at a value or moderate is an option too, but i cant even get on to Disney's site right now and went i checked last week options were slim!

I'm going to move this over to the Orlando Hotels board. That's where the DTD resorts get the most discussion. :)

Because of all the road construction at DTD/Disney Springs, I would avoid staying around DTD. Last May, it took me an hour to get from the Crossroads shopping Center to the Team Disney parking lot.

Thank you! I didn't even think about that!!!

We've stayed at the Hilton a few times and have had good experiences. They do have their own buses so you don't need a car.

The construction now in the DTD area is not effecting the traffic as bad as it once did since they opened one of the parking garage ramps and pedestrian bridge.

I have stayed at every hotel on Hotel Plaza Blvd. and all have their own pros & cons. The Best Western and Buena Vista Palace both have free parking. The Hilton offers extra magic hours until the end of the year. The BVP and Hilton are the two closest to DTD itself.

All resorts offer free transportation to and from the parks as well. The B Resort has recently been renovated to a more modern style hotel. Honestly, any of these properties are a good place to stay. You just need to look at them and see which one fits your needs, budget, etc.

Best western how far a walk to dtd transportation. How is pool n beds

The Best Western is about as far of a walk from DTD as the Double Tree is actually. They are near the end of Hotel Plaza Blvd. closer to the Cross Roads shopping centre than DTD. The beds are fine, nothing great but do the job after long days in the parks. Loads of pillows though :) which I particularly like.

After a certain hour (I honestly cannot remember) the resorts have a separate coach that comes by and takes guests to DTD itself. You could walk there from the Best Western, but even if you do not catch the DTD coach, you can always get on the regular bus to the parks and get off at the Wyndham LBV or Buena Vista Palace and just walk to DTD from that resort.

The Best Western is the first stop on the 'B' Bus run so you can take it to a closer resort and walk to DTD really easily.

The pool is just a regular pool and there is no hot tub at the Best Western.
