We are considering Doubletree Suites for the last two nights of our trip this July. This is one of the 'official' Disney resorts so I'm assuming it can't be THAT bad, but I was hoping to hear from someone that has stayed there before. There will be betwenn 5 and six of us there (the youngerst being 13YO). I see they have a 2BR, would this be good for a group of 5 to 6?

Any and all help would be appreciated,
Thanks!

The Doubletree Suites can be a good value. I stayed there by myself on a short business trip but wouldn't hesitate to bring my family there if we were on a tight budget. The standard rooms are huge, about 600 sq ft, with a small bedroom (2 double beds) and a large living room with a sleeper couch. It's kind of like an Embassy Suites but the furnishings aren't as nice. Occupancy is listed as 6 (4 adults + 2 children), though it would be a pretty cozy for your situation (only one bathroom). If you can get a 2BR suite for a reasonable price that would be a good solution.

Technically it is onsite, but it is right across route 535 from the Crossroads shopping center. The "official" hotels in the Downtown Disney area all have great landscaping but apparently the quality is variable. I suspect the Doubletree is one of the better ones.
