Double Shows in the Med

I will potentially get them 4 times each, back to back.
Wow!!!! That’s insane!!! So you will have to ration yourself on the first cruise in order to have something different to see on the next one!

That was the plan, with say each repeated on cruise 2, but now, yes 4 times!

Certainly puts you off from booking a back to back!
I wonder who the other entertainers are going to be? I can’t remember how many there are on a usual 7 night. Two or three maybe? Plus the usual bands in the lounges, atrium and Pub.
Let’s see if this number has been reduced.
I have seen the years schedule for John Charles who is an extremely popular entertainer on the DCL ships and I did think that this years schedule was vastly reduced compared to last years, but I thought that this was his decision. Perhaps that’s not necessarily the case!

Also.

If you have seen a show already, where do you go? Shops and bars, maybe Spa, win win DCL. You spend more.

Or you just hang out and chill like those of us who don’t like magicians, find ventriloquists creepy, and have never found a “comedian” remotely funny have been doing all along.

We don't always go the show every night. Sometimes, if it's a port intensive cruise, we are tired or don't get back in time. Sometimes we just enjoy chilling before dinner (late seating) so don't get to the show. But I'd maybe like to see it so I don't mind the concept of repeats myself. That way I feel I can go every second night or so and still see them all.

Exactly! Especially for me as someone who always skips the variety acts anyway, it would be nice to have a choice on which night I wanted to see a show and which night I wanted to chill.

It would also - assuming I went to the first night - give me the chance to go back if I got stuck with people like the rude bunch behind me on the Fantasy once who apparently thought that they HAD to attend a show, but they really wanted to plan their next day and talked the whole time so much that I could not even begin to focus on the show. It would have been nice to have another shot at seeing it.

It's possible, if DCL is looking to reduce the number of individual acts they pay for, they could pull out some of the shows that they do on the longer cruises. They're already paying the show CMs.

Things like Walt Disney Once Upon a Song. They basically just use one of the show sets (one that rotates and has stairs) and the entertainment CMs do a Disney review of songs through the years.

Or, on one cruise the show CMs did an ad hoc cabaret show in Promenade Lounge. They could let them do one in the big theater one night. I also saw this done on Holland America.

How about a basic talent show? Either for guests or CMs.

I could deal with the entertainment crew doing the music of Disney.

The others I'm not so sure I'd bother with. Especially a guest talent show.

But I'm also perfectly fine not going to things in the evenings. I skipped them all on HAL and most on RCCL. I found plenty to do without spending money.

Except I saw the other page of the Navigator where they have 4 other variety acts (in addition to Hector is Magic) performing on those nights in the adult club. So in theory they are still paying them, right?

But the pay is different for a large venue show, opposed to a small venue show. And, the individual entertainers always did a night club show plus a big theater show (on those cruises that needed additional shows in the WDT).

Now, they will probably only have one entertainer doing two shows in the night club. Or two doing one show each.

Well this is disappointing. :sad2: I don't want to see the same show twice. Like a previous poster said, I really enjoyed Hamilton but I am not dying to see it again. Even if a particular act isn't to my liking, I still prefer having something different in the theater each night.

The funny thing is that the current Magic mainstage cast (Magic 40) knows Once Upon a Song (the show even has a Moana update). They performed that, show for us on the EBTA with Magic 39 performing their last iterations of the other mainstage shows.
