Double FP for resort guests with seperate tickets.

So take an old kttw card in with you ? And you can still get a fp?

This depends. I have tested 2 types of old KTTW cards (both RFID), one expired before the testing started and does nothing. Not even a slip of paper comes out of the machine. The other expired during the testing and it does pull FPs.

Obviously mine is an extremely limited test and it isn't like I tried a bunch of machines with the older expired KTTW card since it was mostly for curiosity sake.

So the tickets and room keys are not linked together in the FP system? You can get an FP with one and then get another FP at a different attraction right away with the other without the '2 hour or after your FP time' wait time?

I don't think this is so, at least not at all the parks, we tried to get consecutive passes and it would not let us, we could get two sets at the same ride, but if we tried to put our room keys in 1 ride then went right over and out our actual ticket in another ride it spit out the invalid FP thing. I think we were in MK when we tried that. we were just there last week 8/1-8/8

The same rules of FPs apply, no new FP until your current FP matures or the 2hr window (whichever comes first). Just if you have a physical ticket and a room key then you can pull with each of them.

I worked that way for us in mid-July. We could pull one set with APs for Splash, and another set with our KTTW cards for Thunder, for example. Each set had a 2 hour window and would not allow any further FP during the window. Maybe they are working on the loophole and have gotten it to read different rides differently?

I also want to add that I believe this only works with the RFID KTTW cards- this seems to have begun when they were rolled out and FP+ testing has been taking place. Old KTTW cards without RFID would have to be activated or would not have the ability to "mimic" magic bands.

We were there until 8/3 and the room key and tix got us FPs at different attractions.

So when did the testing start? I have old KTTW cards (with RFID) that were from beginning of last December... I wonder if it would be worth taking them to try? We have a package and are not part of the testing so we'll have our room key and tickets all on one KTTW card for this trip.

Since Disney is allowing this, it must be their new FP policy.

When will the CMs start telling certain guests?

Just think how much pixie dust is being spread around right now by giving the extras away.;) This will go away. Right after the FP+ testing/feedback phase is complete.

I'll make sure you are the first to know if we can double dip FPs this week.

Thank you.

Because I have learned on the DIS that if Disney allows something then it is their policy. So this "double dipping" is obviously their new FP policy.

I can't wait to double dip (maybe I can find a way to triple dip;)) and give away any FPs I don't use - in fact I think DGrD and I will pull FPs on our way out of the parks each day and give them away to unsuspecting folks just arriving - it will be our last big FP- hoorah!;):goodvibes:woohoo:
Enjoy everyone!

I feel sorry for the folks that are not testing and can't get fp after noon because all you are getting 3 times what you should.

Sounds great! I would totally do it too! :thumbsup2

I've even been known to wake up early and book my friend's hard to get ADRs for them at 180 days out using their account. I find it easier than having to explain it to them. I think their kids are glad their mom and dad know us. ;)

I like you--you're my kind of bad. :thumbsup2

You are an awesome friend!

I hear you! I am not testing either - we are DVC and are not included. I was teasing about the triple dip - and with the enforced return FP times I don't know if that would work anyway (but if I had kept my BCV KTTW from May I would be tempted to try that). However, if Disney is allowing testers to dble dip and gives me a card which works in addition to my tickets, I will use it - it will be our last trip to the parks with the grands and kids for a while - I am choosing to go elsewhere next year until they sort all this out - not a big fan of booking rides 60 days out.

That said - I am not loosing any sleep over the testing - recent tests seem to indicate that it is not affecting the lines very much, if at all - and the further into Aug you go, the slower it gets - in Aug we do RD in the morning, return to the pool after lunch and usually head back out after the daily thunder storm for dinner and a show or parade and maybe a ride or two. So it's all good.

So, wait... I haven't come back to this thread since page one.

Am I to understand that there is a possibility that old KTTWs may work to get FPs? I saw on another site that anything with a mag stripe might work? How can that be possible?

So could I take hoppers that haven't been used to enter the park to get FPs? What about old used Hoppers? Or a Hopper with the old Plus (waterpark) visit still left? I have a few of them lying around.

If we have a package booked...and are not testing magic bands...can we have the resort/guest services remove out tickets from our KTTW cards and they we can double dip the FP's? Or do we need to use the KTTW cards at least once witht the tickets, then have them removed? Would this raise suspicions of the CM's in Guest Relations? How old can the previously used KTTW's be. Would one's from a trip last year in Aug work? Thanks for any responses.
