With all of the catching up you've had to do, you may have missed my "Welcome" post to you and Glenn. Check the link below out and let me know if you have more questions! Basically, I have a database that is modified literally daily with new info that's being provided to me, and when the new website is up, everyone and every data point mentioned in Post 577 (which is is updated everytime there is an interesting stat that needs update, and the date of that update is noted there as well) will be at your fingertips as well.

Hmmmmm....actually I don't think there is a way to do that on here. It's all in an Excel spreadsheet that is 133 rows long and spans columns A-AG.

Here's the best I can do at this point. If there's a DISname repeated, that means they recruited another family to go with us. There are other columns that I'm not displaying here that would give more specific to that point.

So here's a snapshot in time (as of last night) of who's coming, by DIS name only.

Hey everyone!

I notice lots of people are looking for the roll call and the new website. I know that someone is working on the new website but, as you might imagine, it takes a little work and time to get it up and running----so we're all waiting for it to be up and running....but I"m sure it's coming soon!

As for the cruiser list......thanks for posting that Kimberly!!! I have actually been thinking about that lately myself. I am going to need the list of DIS screennames and every "real" name for people sailing with us so that I can make the nametags.....along with all the cabin numbers for each (so that I can deliver the nametags to cabins if people aren't able to get them from me in the port or aboard during sailaway). So, Kim, you and I should be touching base soon to figure out how we're going to do that.......with so MANY sailers it probably wouldn't hurt me to start working on it shortly after the 1st of the year.

Also as a matter of preference....how do people want their names on thier nametags? First name AND screenname? (as seen below):

Or do we prefer to have only our names and no DIS screenname? And if we DO use DIS screennames, how do we want to indicate our family members who aren't actively posting, but traveling with us? Or do they just get their names and only the active posters get a DIS name?

As I said, Buckeye Gal still has the info, and I bought the URL for 2 years, so we're good for when he gets free time and finds out what he has to do to get senior college credit (aka, use the cruise website for his senior thesis--the class starts at the end of the month).

Erik, I'm all for the using both names if the person has two names, and using the real name for non-DIS'ers.

I'll PM you, Erik, regarding "the list".

MY VOTE: Personally, I would appreciate seeing BOTH on the name tag.

There are some DISers who have chosen not to provide their real names or names of their kids, which is perfectly fine. We should make it clear that if we decide to include real names, this personal info you provided to me is going to be the same database Erik works from to create the name tags. Thus, you won't have to pass along this info to Erik, too.

Consider that if we decided to include real names and you want names of your family and friends on THEIR name tag yet you haven't provided me with that yet (and you can validate that once the website is up or feel free to PM me), then you'll need to send me updates to DOUBLEDIP09-2008@HOTMAIL.COM.

Oh no worries!! It's not always so obvious!

Just note that the link to the website that's in my signature is the OLD website, so it is outdated. Jeremy (LadyShiva's DH) graciously volunteered to take over our webmaster role. The first site in my siggy was a good start to getting feedback as to what we want to see on our very own site. So I greatly appreciate Marsha's (brady961) efforts to get us thinking about this!

Hey All,

I haven't been posting much because it has been busy, but I am reading. I like the lovely house and I am totally green with envy of those who are cruiseing now and those who are doing b2bs.

On the Transatlantic cruise here is how the name badges were done (I personally like it that way):


Each badge had the person's real name in larger type on the top line and underneath the DISname of the main poster for that person's group.

So, mine would say:
HADLEY
NHDisneyLover

DH's would say:
DAVE
NHDisneylover

DD's would say:
MARIKA
NHDisneyLover

etc. For Rio and even my in-laws Hank and Jan. Not everyone posts, but it helps to know which poster the random Hank or Jan or Dave is associated with as we have probably all read about him/her. It also helps everyone to know which of (likely) several Daves, MY Dave is.

For those rare cases where more than one member of a family posts, each has his/her own DISboard name listed underneath.

I suggest that to help us KNOW when there are individuals from the same family posting seperatley and wanting a different DIS name that when we get closer we ask to have info submitted to me or Erik (we'll tell you who) in a standard fromat. Something like:
DISname
first names of all under this "umbrella name"
a room # for delivery

For example, I would then PM myself the following:
NHDisneylover
Hadley, Dave, Marika, Rio, Hank, Jan
5530

But PLEASE don't start PMing those yet. We'll let you know when we are ready for them (sometime closer when it is less likely plans will be changed, etc.).
