Thanks for the initial welcomes!! ....

So I have tried to skim all the pages before this.....but are we set yet in who specifically we should be sending our information to? And what information specifically they want? Will there be a website, etc.? Sorry to ask so many questions when so many of you have been a part of this thread for a long time...just trying to get up to speed!

Also....on the TransAtlantic the DISers were a HUGE group and we were super organized with lots of awesome group ideas (door decorations, bracelets, Tshirts, special lanyards, fish extenders, meet & greets, etc. etc.)....it was Jason & I's first trip as DISers but it was amazing....so as we all start gearing up for the Double Dip we'll definitely have lots of great ideas!

:tigger:
Erik

We're all certainly looking forward to new great ideas, so bring 'em on everyonel!!

Suggested Group Activities
I consolidated the list just this past weekend. See page 38, post 569. Erica reminded us of a few more that were posted at one point (see page 39, post 571). Clearly this list will/can grow with new ideas!!

Roll Call & Potential Activities
I'm the go-to-woman for the roll-call list. Take a look at my signature, and you'll see a link to a specific post that points out what we're looking for in the database at this time. You have the choice of using the Hotmail account I setup (see my signature block) or PM me through the board to pass along your info. If your personal email acct has your last name, even though you don't know me :rotfl: , I assure you it will be kept private unless I or Marsha have your permission to include it on the website. Personal email addys will also be kept private.

Website
Marsha (aka brady961) volunteered to set up a website for us. She's currently busy counting down to her cruise on June 21, so she'll get to it in time...and we obviously have time! I'll work with Marsha to ensure she gets updates to put on the website. I think it was MAGICFOR2 who suggested pics be put up on the website as well, so we'll see what Marsha can do for us.

Logo
At this point, the following people have stepped up stating that they are going to try and work on a logo. I know that they are all soliciting anyone to feel free to come up with something...then maybe we can conduct a poll to vote! :) Correct me if I'm wrong on this list...I'm using memory! :scared1:

  • Jen (Nenner1)
  • Lionel (the other better half of zweilhund)
  • Lisa (scoutsmom99, volunteering services if needed)
  • did I miss anyone??

I hope that answers your initial questions, Erik.

Welcome Erik!

My friends just got back from the Med Repo too - so if you saw a reeeeeaaalllly tall guy who is missing his right arm and a tiny little girl with tattoos on both shoulders that was them! They're pretty hard to miss.

I forgot to tell everyone that my friend came to collect her hedgehog, who survived the two weeks here. As a thanks, she gave us her signed Ducky Williams print! I was like

Sil, I'll show it to you in July :goodvibes it's awesome! We're still waiting for them to post the pics online so we can live vicariously through them popcorn::

Awe....how terribly nice!

Thanks for the initial welcomes!! I have to agree with Hoagie that while the TransAtlantic was an AMAZING cruise...truly an epic journey, figuratively & literally.....that the real highlight of the cruise was all the DISers. Jason and I met and bonded with so many people who will unquestionably be friends for life and lots of future vacation buddies!!

Erik - you brought a smile to my otherwise sad face. I am going through my Disney depression. HELP!!!!! You and Jason were awesome and I am so excited that you are on the same deck and SO CLOSE - I LOVE IT! We are trying to get a couple more people to book and I am really missing everyone and the bond that we shared. Darrell and I are only children so we always look at it like you guys on the boards are the big family we never had. I haven't read any posts just the last couple and saw you - smiled :yay: :yay: and had to write quickly. I will catch up on the weekend. By the way, I have the Barcelona newspaper - front page of the ship. If you want a copy PM me with your address and I will mail one out to you with a copy of the article. Give Jason my best!

HI gang. Sorry I have been busy either away at WDW weekend before this last one. This Memorial Weekend also away and just got home tonight.

I will be happy to put something together as a website. The URL though will be "generic" as I will use one of my email accounts that offers free webspace. But like in my signature the Name of our Sept 07 cruise is link to website. So you don't see actual URL until get there if click on link.

Give me some time to get settled, esp with work. Someone I believe said they have a list of ppl's info, if that could be emailed to me, that would help a lot.

Also somewhere I saw the categories/columns/info ppl would like on the site, could someone also email me too?

I will get started as soon as I can.

On another note, yes I am preparing for a 3 night cruise on the Wonder June 21. I didn't take my computer with me so haven't been online in a few days. Well, I am so excited as they have announced Florida res rates for the June 21 cruise. So before I even read any other emails, checked here etc.... I immediately called and rec'd a nice credit !!!! WOO HOO.

Ok i return you to the normal topic of crusing in Sept 08 <G>

pit303 - Hi!!! We're actually north of Philadelphia (about 1 hour).

Thanks for everyone for getting so much together and organized. Can't believe it's only 16 months away!!! :lmao:

Sure sounds like we're all going to have a blast!!

Wow, this board has been very busy! It took me a while to read thru the posts from when I was last on. It sounds like this is going to be a great cruise. We have another thread for our August 07 cruise and it isn't anywhere near as busy as this one. Can't wait to meet everyone. Welcome to all newcomers. Glad to hear all the trans-atlantic cruisers had a great time. Wish we had been there with you, but DD and DS can't miss that much school. BTW, I love the skeleton with the ears! Great idea.

Hi everyone! Going crazy - getting ready - already "too excited to sleep"

Kimberly and Marsha, thanks so much for your organization for all of us! It will be great to have it all centralized.

Welcome Aboard to the Newbies! Glad the Repo was so great! Erik, We will be checking out the model unit for VAKL next week!

Gotta Go get to :laundy: - there's only two of us - where does it come from? :rotfl2:

You guys are so lucky to get such wonderful EB Med Vets on your cruise! Erik and jason are just really super nice people, and the Hoagie Pie clan is uber-fun. They really seize the day!! (;) ;) ) but be careful, because they will win every contest they enter!!!! I guess truthfully, between Hoagie Pie and Jason and Erik, all the medals on your cruise are already spoken for!

Tammie, have a FABULOUS time with your sister and her kids! I've been reading your PINK MICKEY CROC TOUR pre-trippie....very exciting! I just can't imagine how thrilled they are, and how exiting it will be for you and Jim to see it through their eyes for the first time!

Safe travels and have fun!

OHHH BOY! Hoagie Pie, Jason, and Erik come with references??!!! Are they paying you Disney Dollars to say this?? :rotfl2: WOW! I have a lot to live up to!

Calling all other cruisers....we need a plan to distract these guys so they don't make it to the contests! hehe

Aw thanks! DizzneyDAnn's not so shabby herself! ;) Our LDS spit-fire party animal....you should all see her work it out at Rockin' Bar D dance parties!!

As for the medals...you haven't even mentioned yet that Hadley and her family are ALSO on this cruise....so when you put me and her rockin' son, Rio, together....that's it.....how does that deliciously awful 80's Starship song form the movie "Mannequin" go??..."NOTHIN'S GONNA STOP US NOW!!!" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm actually just waiting anxiously for Hadley (NHDisneylover) to meander over to this thread and start posting!! :)

Have you ever stayd at AKL before? The resort itself is AMAZING...before we ever stayed there a lot of people on the boards and the DVC yahoo group all said that it wasn't worth the extra money just to have giraffe and zebra outside your windo...but we couldn't disagree more :woohoo: .....if you're anything like us...once you've stayed there you won't ever really want to stay anywhere else....that's why we HAD to buy at the AK Villas!! They're going to be gorgeous...AND big...much more like OKW villas than some of the more recent builds. We haven't even had a chance to book using our AKL points yet and we're already thrilled about owning there!

I didn't know Hadley had booked! She's really sweet and looks wonderful ALL the time. And yep, with her family on your team, you can't go wrong! I really like Marika. She's a sweet girl and very nice to talk to. (Still sorry I stole your sun-glasses Marika--I'm just slightly competitive!) I didn't get to know Rio at all, but he flies well--especially when Erik threw him up in the air to get on Mickey-mania.

Erik--when you're LDS, you can't drink or smoke--so you just gotta dance--but the way I dance:eek: , I am sure some thought I was drunk!

I tried to look up the specs on this cruise and couldn't find it anywhere. Any clues?

Also--bummer that there was one category 9 for the PC westbound this morning, and someone snagged it as I was booking . GRRRRRRR

pixiedust: :welcome: party: :welcome: pixiedust:

to all of the new members of our growing family!

Here's a thought:idea: .....I just came across all of the DCL/DIS podcasts...haven't had a chance to listen yet (have been furiously downloading all night), and I noticed the Med folks had a podcast for their cruise.

SO I GOT TO THINKING:scared1:

How cool would it be for *US* to have our very own podcast?

I mean, after all we are going to run out of space here before too long (heh!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: ) No, kidding, I just thought it would be kindof neat. It could explore excursions, onboard activities, DIS meets, and all other details pertinient to our cruise. And since not everyone can *cough*cough* totally afford the exorbitant cost of wireless or internet on their cruise (or frankly, not many people may want to be bothered with going online during their cruise when they could be hanging out by the pool with a cold beverage), I thought what a PERFECT way to have tidbits of information, stored on your ipod in audio files! Easy to plug in and listen to when and where this or that DisMeet is or who is doing what excursion , etc. etc. right from the terminal, or your stateroom, or from a lounge in the Quiet Cove!!
:music:

I don't know exactly what doing a podcast entails as far as recording (other than you can do it thorough the mic of your computer or even using a phone) and even less about bandwidth and servers and a webpage to hold them (but WHAT IF we got picked up by itunes??) I would be happy to check into doing it (AFTER I get done with that logo of course)...FWIW, I do know I have heard some pretty bad ones, even from itunes, and I KNOW we would be better than a LOT of what's out there!:rolleyes1

So, what's everyone's $0.02 on that??????

First a special Thank You to DizzneyDAnn, Hoagie Pie, and Erik. Here I was browsing this new thread that I'm about to join, and I saw all three of your names and started bawling my eyes out.

Rob and I also just got off the Repo, and the only thing that made debarkation bearable was knowing I had another cruise (2 actually) booked. I had no intention of even thinking about the anticipation of this one yet, being so far away still with other trips to plan, but I HAD to jump in when I saw posts from our Transatlantic friends. DizzneyDAnn, that last moment of seeing you at the Marriott is still breaking my heart. :sad1:

Erik already mentioned it, but yes, the Dis portion of the cruise we just got off made it all the better. So here I am officially introducing ourselves on this thread. Chris, 38, and Robert, 37, from Las Vegas. The double dip will be our 5th Disney Cruise.

Looks like a great group to get to know so looking forward to watching this thread grow. Take care all!
Chris

We're glad to have you!

Lol, no you are definintely NOT the only one. Believe me, I was teased relentlessly on the last thread and cruise as a result of my name. There was a small discussion on the Repo thread about how you read screen names and they are not what you think they are. I won the distinction of having the "worst", as it was misread often. My little Boston Terrier's name is Scooby, thus the SN. :)

Hey there ScoobyPOP! :rotfl: I admit it...I was guilty as well of the poop!

So glad to have you and Robert with us!
You're not one of the habitual contest winners, are you? :) I hope we will continue getting you excited about your 5th cruise!

When you get the chance, please check out the Post 577 link in my signature block and reply if you so desire. Have a great one!

I think that's a GREAT idea - that would mean less paper for me to carry onboard and potentially lose in one of my cleaning frenzies :rotfl:

I have no idea how to do one, but I'm sure we could find out in the next 16 months, right?
