Thanks to all of you who have recently submitted info requested in Post 577 and for sending some beautiful pictures of your family to put up on the website! Thank you again, Marsha (Brady961), for volunteering to create this!

Thought you might enjoy seeing some new stats about our cruise!

  • More than 215 people
  • 1 Honeymoon
  • 5 Anniversary Celebrations
  • 7 Birthday Celebrations
  • 1 Adoption
  • 1 MBA
  • 16 Cabins (not people) interested in Palo High Tea
  • 13 Cabins (not people) interested in some Fish Extender Fun
  • 8 Families interested in a pre-cruise on-line meets for the kids

Is it common to have so many Diser's on a cruise? I mean, 71 cabins, that's a lot.

I am so excited. I got off the phone today with my academic counselor and she told me that my last class will be the week before the cruise.....I WILL GET MY MBA :cool1:

Sorry just had to share....man I am so siked

What a great way to celebrate!!!! party:

Morning all!

The corrections on the site looke awesome. I'm not sure we need a new logo or image.....or if someone does create something cute with a more "double dip" theme then maybe just add it rather than replace the Pirates in Castaway Cay image because I think that picture is adorable. I love the cartoon-y Davey Jones! :)

As for the updated list....I'm impressed to see we have already got over 70 rooms and we're still so far out from this cruise (especially since I know there are a few more who aren't even on this thread yet and still others who are considering joining the cruise). That said, though, I think that certain cruises do attract large concentrations of DISers....I think we ended up with over a hundred cabins of DISers on the TransAtlantic and I know that there is a big big group of DISers forming on the Panama repo cruise in May (and probably August, too) of 2008. Personally I love being on the boat with a lot of DIS people because it's like travelling with old friends....and I think that as long as we're a good group of DISers that the CM's aboard the ship can get really excited about us, and how excited about the cruise(s) we are, too!

:cool1:

Have any of you celebrated a birthday onboard when it's not quite the birthday? I'm debating and debating about this. I know both my kids would probably enjoy having the cabin decorated and getting gifts (from Shirley, of course, LOL) for DD's birthday. But her actual birthday is the week after the cruise, she'll turn 6. Is that too old to celebrate when it's not really her birthday? She'll probably know better by then so I don't think I could just tell her it was really her birthday, I think she'd know it wasn't quite. :confused3

I love the website Marsha! Very talented group we have here. I wanted to show everyone a design (for door magnets, possibly tshirts - not our logo) that one of the DISigners made for our 2007 cruise. She is very creative and I wanted to share it here (of course, I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet:confused3, so I will post the link to her thread)

Just one more way to make us easier to find!

BTW, I am in on the contests. Love a challenge!

I think celebrating her birthday is a great idea! We celebrated my birthday last year and we were about a week early too. It was so exciting to get to our room and see the birthday door magnet and then to open the cabin door and have the room decorated!! It just made the moment extra special!

Didn't Disney create the concept of the "Verry Merry UN-Birthday?" Maybe the Mad Hatter will even be around that day! :)

Waaaaaaahhhhhhh! I need another Scoobypop hug! I gave your name the distinction of being the worst...but you are the BEST!

The people made that cruise. I wandered around the ship myself a lot as Scott was writing, but there was always someone I could bump into. We had such a sweet community. I crave that. Hoagie Pie, I so understand the family feeling on the boat.

Will I ever stop talking about it? So sorry to keep going on, but thanks for allowing me to.

Well? What do you guys think? Should we use what Marsha put on the site for our logo or should I continue plodding away in photoshop?:confused3

::yes:: or :sad2: Ha Ha!:)

Wow, I missed a lot last evening!:yay:

I'll check into the podcast idea...I have a pretty good idea of how to do a basic one...of course I think we should have one with an audio track (sound effects and music) and call-ins (how cool would that be! We could feature ourselves!) and listener mail. (Although I think we might need some kind of editor or like audio board or something to do that! :confused3 Anyone?? ) I haven't listened to the DIS unplugged podcasts yet, just the DCL official ones, and they don't tell you much you don't already know if you hang out here. They are only about 5 mins long, as opposed to the DIS ones that average about an hour. So I'm sure there is a multitude of info to be gained from those! (BTW I was thinking our segments would run somewhere around the 10 min range, weekly or bi-weekly until a couple of months before sail day then more frequently.)

Marsha the website looks fantastic, can't wait to see all of our smiling mugs on there!:jumping1:

Just did it in March (for me!) Doing it on this cruise for DS's 9th. (his actual BD is 10 days after we return)...I say go for it, she will LOVE it....just explain to her she gets to celebrate on the boat (and maybe just a small party at home, when you get back, small cake and a few presents?)

I'm working on getting us some more DIS'ers...just had another inquiry on my TR about this cruise!!:dance3:

Gosh, I missed so much....and I was only away for 12 hours! :sad2:

Here are some of the ones I selected:

okay...how did you get those pictures to post? I tried a few time this morning and couldn't get it. Don't you just love Pat's stuff!!! She has made quite a few things for our trip this August already. Please tell me how to post her pictures. Thanks.

I just did it the way that I post other pictures...save the file from her original thread by right clicking, save as...etc. I always save to my desktop (easy to find!!)
Then upload them to photobucket (or any other photo sharing site). All you have to do is sign up for their free service and then click on my album, and there wil be a box with three "browse" buttons, click on the browse to find the pictures on your computer where you have saved them (desktop, my pictures, etc. ) Then click upload. Once it is done, it will show thumbnails of all the pics you have uploaded. Once they are in your online album, there are three lines of text under the thumbnails. The line you want for bulletin boards is the IMG code(the bottom of the three under the thumbnail) To post it here, all you have to do is have two windows open, one to the forum where you are posting, and one at photobucket. On photobucket under the pic you want to post, just right click that line of text in the box next to it, copy it, and paste that line into your post here...

Hope that helps!:)

Yes, her stuff is gorgeous. I have actually pulled a number of her designs, I spent several hours going all through her thread....she is fantastic. Sha makes it look easy....believe me guys, it isn't.:scared:

I'm taking the laptop to work tonight hopefully the photoshop gurus there can pixie dust that logo and make it do what I want! :thumbsup2

I did it!!! Thank you very much!!! This was the picture I was referring to in my previous post.

Great!!

That's funny I have saved that design. I could have posted it for you!!!:lmao:

I love it!!

Just another reason to Drink wonderful fruity concoctions with alcohol

Now why would we be doing that? :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Hee hee

I don't know, but I think it's great! I say we fill up the entire boat and kick all the non DISers off. What? :rolleyes1

We celebrated our anniversary about a month early.....does that count?

I will have to check out the designs for a door sign this time. Last time we put up our Castaway Club magnet and someone stole it! :scared1: But then I found an abandoned green Mickey head in the hallway so I just replaced it with that :upsidedow

Yeah....I'm glad we have a lot of lead time! Jason and I thought our magnets from this past cruise were pretty fun and fancy (and Chris and Rob's magnets were amazing, too!).....but you guys are putting us to shame!! All those magnets and door signs are beautiful! The heat is on for us to really get to work on something fabulous....although we do have an awesome fish extender, so that's something at least!! :rotfl:
