We like to take a pitcure for our CHristmas cards....

Fast....cheap...and who knows when we will ever look this good together as a group!!!!!!!!

I have the only 8 yr old girl. :(

We cheated for formal night, we are going to Palo. :) Last year we wore nice dresses and the guys wore suits.

Dh isnt packing a suit, only dress shirts and ties. The suits take up too much space in the suitcases.

Anyone using space bags at all?
I am thinking about it, but does anyone know if your clothes get wrinkled?

You can get your clothes pressed on the ship....really does not cost that $$$

charlie:woohoo:

....(btw Kimberly could you put the mailing address in Post 1 purdy please....

You got it! PLEASE make sure you read up on the entire list of guidelines for shipping. It's more than just putting the address on a shipping lable on the box. I included the link to Shirely's post so you can read up on all the necessary details.

I recounted last night and had the same as Drea 37 girls and 31 Boys I did not break it down by age though so I can't help you with that.

No worries. The numbers for the ages of the kids are particularly important to me because based on age ranges, there are different gifts coming from me. It sounds like the grand total is something we all agree on though. :)

So what are you and your familys wearing on formal night?

We are so on the fence....mainly because of me. I have a lovely long black lace gown but I am not sure I will fit in it. I hope so.... If I can squeeze in it (and not get the visual of that SNL skit with Chris Farley in a tight dress with it all coming out the top and the bottom) then Ron will get a suit and possibly Brendan too if we can find one for him at a good price....otherwise they will go shirt and tie. Unfortunately since we had to get a new air conditioner last month we don't have all the money we thought we would for shopping. Brendan needs all new "cruise" clothes (long pants and nicer shirts) since he lives in T shirts and shorts. I just bought Savannah a handful of nice sundresses off the clearance rack at Justice last week...so all she needs is a couple of really nice gowns...or charcter dresses...she wants to be tink or cinderella! I was in TDS last week and they didn't have anything! Nada!!!

Sure Jen, rub salt in that wound! :lmao: Honestly I didn't even make it to deck 7 on that cruise, but if I had known you had it up I would have brought you something! :flower3:
Awwwww, you are so sweet! I had to put it up even though we did not have a FE going since I had just gotten it and it needed to be christened!

I've been working on my magnets this week. I have about 100 images for Pirate Night alone. Guess it's a good thing I have 2 doors!:rolleyes1

I am getting custom made stickers that say.

"I Love FatCat"

:lmao: :thumbsup2

For formal night, I found a great dress in my closet that (amazingly) still fits me - it is just past the knees in the front but longer in the back. It's a black slip with a sheer, sparkly sheath over it. And it's free! Lionel is wearing his black pinstripe suit.

I know it's a little different for us, since we are driving and not flying, but I find that a garment bag holds the formal wear very well. We have a pretty small one with hard sides, and last year it held Lionel's suit, two dress shirts, two ties, his dress shoes, three of my dresses and my dress shoes - and it still had room for more. We'll be bringing it again this year, along with our regular suitcase, and a third suitcase for all of our rum cakes ;)

We used space bags for the dirty clothes on the way home - after we wore things, we just put them into the bag. Made packing easy on the final night. :thumbsup2

For formal night I will be wearing a long black skirt, a silver top, and silver sandals. DH and DS will be wearing black suits. DD is currently slated to wear a little sundress/Easter dress, but I'm toying with the idea of making her a party dress instead. (Yeah... in all my spare time...)

Well she's the only 8 yr old for the Fish Extender exchange. There are certainly more 8 yr old girls. I'm out of town right now, so I don't have access to the database. I'll look the stat up for you Monday or Tuesday!

I have purchased the Travel Space Bags. I figure if I put things in there that I would not want to be wrinkled (like undies are no big deal), if I don't want to send out for pressing, I can always throw a wet towel and those clothes in a dryer and the wrinkles should come out. ;) I'm glad some of you recommended the luggage scale, because I certainly don't want to end up going over 50 lbs. just because the Space Bag give me more luggage space to fill up!

Enjoy the remainder of your weekend everyone!

Val, Savannah is almost 8 (she will be 8 in February). There aren't many 7 y/o girls on our meet either, maybe one other. So maybe our girls can hang out together!:cutie:

Jen:
Natalie would love to meet Savannah and hang with her. Nats bday is in Feb too. Natalie will be fine...her big sister is in the same club with her too. ;)

Thanks for everyone for the advice about the underwater camera bags. We just got one too.

Anyone know how much the pictures might cost at the Dolphin Encounter.

I don't have any luck with the Travel Space Bags, they always rip on me.
Yesterday I found the 2 1/2 gallon Hefty one-zip bags at Target. They work better for me. I usually roll my sportswear, underwear, etc and put them in bags.
I'm trying to get everything in one checked bag.....since I am travelling solo and meeting family in Orlando.

Tiffany, our fellow cruiser made mine and Crissichef's FE, they are AWESEOME! she goes by gradysmommy( ibelieve)on ebay, check out to see if she has any!

So what are you and your familys wearing on formal night?

My brother is getting married the week before the cruise so I'm wearing my bridesmaid dress...all I need to do is get lots of alterations made and I will be good to go! Mom is wearing her Mother of the bride dress. I'm paying to have an extra suitcase, but I'm not typically a light packer. I'm sending lots down ahead of time to my resort and then we will just bring everything with us to port.

I think I posted before, but this is my dress mine is a /pewter/gray/dark silver color and has a tangerine sash:

ebay has fish extenders from about $7.00 and some that start at about $20.

The $7 including shipping are made of plastic and I assume the seller found a lot of like 100 for $1 each and is re-selling.
Apparently they were originally marked as beanie bag holders.

Anyone actually see one of these in person?

Are they nice or junky?

I saw a picture of one of those hanging on someone's door in one of the "what is a fish extender" threads and it looked fairly decent, but I have no idea what it is like in person.

She's making mine too! I can't wait to see it :goodvibes
Tiffany is super duper talented, hers look amazing. There is another seller on ebay who hand makes them and hers are very pretty as well. I just prefer Tiffany's style :thumbsup2

That looks perfect! :thumbsup2

I only had one bridesmaid dress, and it was from the early 90's. Metallic purple with puffy sleeves. Would have been great for 80's night, but not so much for formal night :rotfl:
Needless to say I didn't keep it around....

We were out FE Fun shopping today after church! What fun!

For formal night I am wearing a simple purple dress and Megan is wearing a pretty party dress that has purple in it. The boys are wearing tux shirts with matching Mickey Mouse vests and bow ties (that I found on ebay a looooong time ago) and black pants. The vests and bow ties have mickey dancing on a piano and playing a purple guitar, so we will all coordinate!

Charlie - I love the idea of using this as a Christmas picture! Hopefully we will be able to get a great picture of all of us in our formal wear.

ScrappingJen - We are also on the Pirate Encounter at 9:30 in GC! This should be a lot of fun!

Has anyone seen the weather lately? There is a tropical storm heading straight for Cozmel! It's TS Dolly. It doesn't look like it will be very intense though or turn into a Hurricane before it hits land.

Things are getting pretty active right now. There is currently 3 named storms and one is just off our coast in NC. I didn't even know it. That one is named Cristobal. Not much of a threat though, just a lot of wind and stirring up the water.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Tiffany

Hi,
I just wanted to put out a post that the weight loss forum is up and running at www.disdoubledip.com under weight loss challenge. Thanks to whoever made this thread for us.

Come over and join in the discussion.

For formal night oldest dd and I are wearing gowns. Younger dd is wearing (if it fits) her flower girl dress from my nephew's wedding. The ds's are doing rented tuxes. For semi-formal: Chinese night: little kids in pants and shirt outfits, big dd in a dress, me, I'm not sure yet.

So just got back from the new batman movie - very good :thumbsup2

I think someone asked me if they should take young kids to it - its kind of dark and scary for younger ones - Heath Ledger is especially creepy as the Joker :scared1:

Let's see. . . For formal night both the NHDisney lover men will be in tuxes (with tail coats none the less). What can I say? My men love to dress!;)
If I am able to fit in it I will be in a floor length (with a very shoet train even) pink gown (the imfamous oink barbie dress). If not, I will be in another slightly less formal but still very over the top gown. Marika has a great floor length silk dress we got on super clearance (marked down to $12 from $280) last year which should just fit which she is very excited to wear.
For semi formal Dave usually just does a shirt and tie. Rio will wear his linen suit IF it is not ruined in Hello Dolly (he is wearing it in the Sunday Clothes scene and has to be on his knees at one point on our always filfthy stage--so it may not survive:rolleyes: )

So the kids and I are trying very hard to figure out WHEN this week we can work in seeing Mama Mia. Has anyone seen it yet? How was it?

Socutsmom99--I adore your dress. Beautiful:love:
