Now a dumb question about the FE's.

Do we sign our name to the gifts? or is it anonymous?

I am going to put a gift tag on our gifts.

Wow. It sounds like many of you have lots of wonderful things planned for Fish Extenders.
Please know that I put our name on the list becuase we will have our FE up. I am planning on making a VERY small (worth about a nickle) token gift for each cabin. Other than that I have put most of my time and $$ into lanyards which are not really a FE gift I know. So, PLEASE if you will be upset if you give us one of your wonderful nice things and only get a tiny little token in return then please just cross us off of your distribution list. I won't mind at all. I just don't want to upset anybody. Thanks:)

Don't be silly ;)

I think we'll put a tag on ours but I don't know what we're going to give out yet. I think it is nice to know who it came from. I'm not concerned that the gift is expensive. I think the spirit of it is just to have fun. Certainly those who did all the work with the lanyards should participate and not expect to give more!:thumbsup2

As for my ? about do we exchange with the whole list or just those with families if we are a family, etc. - I don't quite understand the idea of splitting up the list the way we want. :confused3 Is everyone doing the whole list then?

We are doing one adult gift per cabin as well as one individual gift for each child. Just do it however you want. :)

I counted twice and I came up with 66 kids. I did not include the one son who was 18. (I did include Sara who was 3 mos). I just printed the list with everyone on it, including the adult list.
I have it marked now with allegies to. so far I have 3.

anyone else count?

I came up with 66 children as well.

I remember seeing a tip on here somewhere to bring a fan because the bathroom gets stuffy. What kind of fan? I was thinking it had to be battery operated, but is there a place to plug it in the bathroom?

Thanks,
Crissi

You know me... I cant sleep without my fan, I am "planning" to send down a box with my FE gifts, and a fan, that way I wont need to pack it and I plan to leave it at disney when we leave Pop:)

I just came back from Target and I bought 2 of these 5 inch fans in case you didn't have one. They run on 2 D batteries and also came with an adaptor so you can also plug it in.

That is the best thing I have found so far. A lot of them take 8 D batteries. Those are way too heavy to be carrying extras around.

Drea.........You are so correct about PATRON:rotfl:

Glad you had a great time out and can still sit at the computer and tell us about it:rotfl2:

Ok I did some tallying based on the Fish Extender Document...I did triple check, but it is late and my eyes are sleepy;) I can't wait to start making my tokens/gifts/whatever we are calling them.

Total 161 people
-----------------------------------------
Adults 93 total (38 male 55 female)
Kids 68 total (30 male 38 female) (including Sara at 3mo)

Do you have the address to where we can have thing sent to the ship? I know it was posted a while back. I didn't think I would do that, but now I think it might be a good idea. Have any of you had items shipped before?

Oh boy...those are not the numbers by age I came up with the two times I looked at the list today, one time of which was just at midnight, and I'm going on little sleep today/this week. I'll try counting again tomorrow! I'll be assembling all the gifts tomorrow with the assistance of my grandmother, so I will certainly get it all straightened out sooner than later!

GN all!

LOL I used the combined list for Females in the first column (Name) I had 38 and 17 in the next one (fellow cruisers column).

I recounted there and got the same...at least I think I did:rotfl:

I have not shipped anything before, this is our first Disney cruise:cool1: I did post on the cruise forum and people have sent things and it been ok so far, I will send it and keep my fingers crossed

On our last cruise we had our FE up and didn't get anything (okay...it was a Wonder cruise with a very tiny meet group and nothing like that was organized)

Sure Jen, rub salt in that wound! :lmao: Honestly I didn't even make it to deck 7 on that cruise, but if I had known you had it up I would have brought you something! :flower3:

I actually shipped something to one of the ships last week - I can't remember if it was the Wonder or the Magic. :confused3

It was pretty easy. Here is the address and instructions I used from a sticky on the Cruise Forum:

Sending packages ahead of time to the ship:

PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!!

-ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.

-The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.

-The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.

-NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.

- The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:

IDS c/o (Ship Name) / Ground Services
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
9001 Marlin Street
Cape Canaveral, FL 32920

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information:ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING

Packages must arrive by 5:00 PM on Friday for Saturday and Sunday sailings.

Packages must arrive by 5:00 PM on Wednesday for Thursday sailings.

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding.

These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

Good morning,

I've been looking for a nice beach in Grand Cayman that has or rents the beach chairs with a canopy since my mother is not a big sun worshiper :worship: and my son wants to rent the boogie boards. We are not going on an excursion and were looking to do this on our own.. I've been researching with not to good results. Can any one suggest a beach with these accomodations? Thanks:yay:

What are you planning on wearing formal night? With the luggage limitations it just seems like a total waste of preciose space to pack a long gown for me and tux or even a jacket for DH. His jackets seem to spend more time on the back of his chairs than on his body cause he gets hot.

But I don't want to stand out cause we are to casual.

So what are you and your familys wearing on formal night?

I am wearing a plain black dress, DD is wearing a dress, DH and DS are both wearing suits. I really want a nice formal picture!

What are you planning on wearing formal night? ...

We are all wearing long gowns. Well...I'm actually not sure if DM's is long, but Grandmother's and mine are long.

...Also here is a breakdown for someone that asked for it (again if you want to double check.. that might be a good idea LOL)...

Okay...I just recounted and found that the following were my discrepancies:

BOYS:
11 yrs - 1 (not 2)
13 yrs - 1 (not 2)
14 yrs - 1 (not 2)

If I add all the numbers up with my count, I do get Drea's total of 31 boys.

GIRLS:
8 yrs - 1 (not 2)

If I add all the numbers up with my count, I do get a total of 37 girls, which includes Sarah (3 months old) in the count. That makes a grand total of 68 kids.

Would anyone mind validating for me so there is another set of eyes on this? Please :)

Im so scared to mail a package, I just have that type of luck where it wouldnt be there LOL. Thinking of just putting it all in my carry on... or just paying the extra $10 for another baggage on the plane.. yet afraid that one would get lost too  lol (btw Kimberly could you put the mailing address in Post 1 purdy please. I have written it down and put it in my planner but for those that may visit us late in the game or those that dont write it down LOL thank you my dear!):cloud9:

As for beaches I thought I read that 7mile is nice and some of the hotels rent you chairs and umbrellas, Ill try and do some searching and give you a few links. found this on Cruise Critics site
Beaches
Best Beach for a Half-Day: Seven Mile Beach (which is actually about 5 1/2 miles long) starts at George Town and has everything from beachfront bars to watersports.

Best Beach for the Dedicated Beach Bum: Again, Seven Mile Beach is great for catching rays (sun rays, not stingrays) and has watersports rental facilities galore.

Secluded Beach: Try Cayman Kai, Rum Point or Smith Cove.

Best Beach for Watersports: Aside from Seven Mile Beach, the best wind surfing is found off of East End, near Morrit's Tortuga Club.

As for formal wear, I wanted the whole gown and tux's for the boys but as we get down to packing etc... it will be a black dress for me, and suits for the kids and E, He has a grey pinstripe but I think Im going to get him a black one, so we all match. Plus a guy always need a standard black suit. But he had to be different and difficult and get grey pinstipes :confused3 . then for Semi formal night they can just take there jackets off. I might look at buying a cummerbun and tie to go with their suits for formal night depending on price.

I recounted last night and had the same as Drea 37 girls and 31 Boys I did not break it down by age though so I can't help you with that.

Drea......I have mailed down boxes on my last three crusies and NEVER had a problem receiving them in my stateroom as long as you follow the directions given :surfweb:

I plan on doing it again this trip...I send down all my tolieties(sp) along with shoes that take up alot of room in the luggage:idea:

charlie:woohoo:

I have the only 8 yr old girl. :(

We cheated for formal night, we are going to Palo. :) Last year we wore nice dresses and the guys wore suits.

Dh isnt packing a suit, only dress shirts and ties. The suits take up too much space in the suitcases.

Anyone using space bags at all?
I am thinking about it, but does anyone know if your clothes get wrinkled?
