Thanks! Now I have to decide what I am printing these all out on.........
Who knows the cheapest place to get magnet paper?

Crissi :confused3

Try this .....

Some people put their names on the FE they give and some people do not. It is up to each individual.

According to Kimberly's lastest update (8/1/08) there are 48 cabins participating. Drea is the FE coordinator.

It is up to each individual to decide on gifts per person or per cabin.

Enjoy your excitement. :yay: This is my fourth cruise and I am excited more and more each day.:thumbsup2

Ok. Thanks. I just want to make sure I'm doing it the right way. :)

Yep. That's what I counted. I got in on things late, and Drea said she'd add me.

Thank you so much for the info!

We just keep getting more and more excited. I guess I should expect that. As many times as I've been to WDW, I still do the same thing every time we go. :)

Shell---

I'm sure you COULD use vinyl clings since they're not permanent...HOWEVER...my fear woudl be that they won't stay up. In order for those to work doesn't the surface have to be perfectly smooth and clean? I honestly can't recall if the doors are smooth enough for a vinyl static cling thing to actually adhere or not.

How about putting magnetic strips on the back of the vinyl clings?

Crissi!!! For just getting started in this graphic business, you've done an awesome job!! At first I thought you were using the same picture of the Magic as one of mine, but once I looked at mine, I realized it's different.

Here's an unveiling of one of ours!

Okay.....I have to share my favorite one, too!!! :goodvibes .....

Kimberly, those are awesome! They gave me the chills. I'm sure it's going to be great to have Mom and Grandma along too! Neither of my 2 Grandmothers would be able to keep up on a cruise anymore unfortunately. We did cruise with my grandparents many years ago and it was great! I am so excited!

....Who knows the cheapest place to get magnet paper?

That's a great price at Wal-Mart! Another option is from Michael's Crafts. They have a box of either three 8"x11" sheets to go through your printer OR a long adhesive sheet that is 1'x2'. Both are made by ProMAG and cost $9.99 a box. I used my Michael's coupon and got it for $6.00. Personally, I like the long strip because I didn't want my magnets to be a full 8"x11". So that allowed me to position all my graphics, including my Mickey ears, to make the most of the square inches I had available to me.

One more question ... instead of magnets, can we use repositionable vinyl shapes?????

I agree with Erik that they may not stick. Another non-sticky option that doesn't leave residue is that pliable, stretchy Plasti-Tac or UHO Tac. I know I've seen that at Hobby Lobby and Michael's. It's usually yellow. You would only need a little piece of it on your cling to make it stick to the door. It's completely reusable, too. It's wonderful for putting things like your little munchin's work of art on your painted walls, too. ;) It also works great to stick a recipe up on the cupboard while you're cooking or baking.

YOU PEOPLE TALK TOO MUCH :lmao:

I was in Seattle, WA for the weekend and have a lot to catch up on :scared1:

Welcome to new comers.

Nice looking door magnets............i've got to get started on mine :rolleyes1

YUP I got to see the Magic in all her glory leaving out of San Pedro today! :cheer2:

Went to my neice and nephews baptizim (Im actually from San Pedro my hometown) and made a pit stop on the way to the reception to take the boys to see her! So we stopped at the Ports O'Call area and had some tasty beverages and chips and salsa at the Acapulco Resturant. We didnt hear the horn as we were inside (I couldnt remember if she took off at 415 or 445. Once we saw her moving from down the dock we ran outside to take pics.

Have to tell you how funny it was some ladies were behind where we were standing and they saw me taking pics and said you telling your boys to get a good look since there not getting on it..I kind of laughed and said oh No I told them the next time you see her we'll be on it.. we set sail in 55days once she gets back to FL. They choked on there margaritas after that remark! :scared1:

I cant wait to get on her now! The boys saw the Dumbo tron and they cant wait to watch tv on it in the pool. They did ask so which level will we be sleeping on.. umm no clue yet we dont have a cabin number still (holding out for the Walt Suite still :rotfl2:) They were asking all kinds of questions, which of course made me happy cuz any time I try and share with E I get ahh huh.. ok ya sure... and Im sure its in one ear out the other!

So here are a few more pics of her!
see why I need a new camera my flash did nothing

Kimberly and Crissi nice magnets I have been working on ours as well.

Drea OMG I have the chills how exciting to see the Magic today. Great video as well. Soon enough it will be our turn:goodvibes

I have chills, too!! I just cannot imagine how YOU three felt!! :goodvibes Great story about the women with their margaritas!

I have it, it keeps my camera dry, it takes a bit to get used to using it, I was wearing googles and it was hard to see the screen but I think it will be GREAT while in the water, a little harder underwater, make sense? I think its worth buying
Thanks, I can't wait to try it.

Ladies.......

I am officially obsessed with looking for dresses on ebay. If you don't have your formal or semi-formal dresses I strongly recommend looking there.

I LOVE Ebay. You are lucky you found a deal. I always get outbid :confused3 Of course when I try to sell they aren't all outbidding on MY stuff.. LOL

If I dont remember it... It didnt happen LMAO :rolleyes1

I am so incredibly lazy and behind. I have done hardly any shopping. Ds 2 still has no pirate costume. We're gathering stuff for magnets, shirts, etc, but haven't really done anything with them. I also haven't even tried on my gown yet. Don't know if I want to. :scared: I'm sure gained a lot of weight since I bought it- right after a successful bout with South Beach diet. Don't think I can get that slim in this amount of time...

The magnets look great. What we did last time for some was physically cut out clip art and glue it onto scrapbooking paper. For the official disboard group magnet, we just printed it off the computer. They we had them laminated and stuck magnet tape on the back. Worked well. We still have them all, but no scanner so I can show you what they looked like.

I have the themes for this trip planned:
oldest dd: Mulan
oldest ds: Disney Heroes (and he picked them out so I have no idea who he picked)
youngest dd: Princesses (of course) starring Aurora
youngest ds: Pooh and friends because he has no preference and we all picked for him.
me: Something with Aladdin and Jasmine and maybe an extra for not-with-us -Daddy.

So the daughter that's blondish, pale, blue-eyed picks Mulan, while the Chinese ethnic daughter picks the blondest princess of all them all. Little dd does not like Mulan. She doesn't have pretty enough dresses, apparently, and isn't a real princess. She did walk along the Great Wall singing "let's get down to business, to defeat the Huns" over and over again so at least she understood the movie.

So I took a plunge and bought Disney Vacation Club.

Let me know if you think the incentives were good or I got the standard deal.

Bought
160 points at AKL new village
16,840 for the points

Incentives
$1280 back in Disney dollars ($8 per point)
$500 Cash Back
160 Points Free I can start using now but expire in 1 year
Dues not paying until Sept 09 because village will not be complete until then.
I can however start using my normal allotment of 160 points Dec 1 2008.
Magical Fast Pass for my party for the Free 160 point allotment.

Thoughts??? Anyone want to buy some points?

In my opinion with other incentives I have seen the 160 Free points was the real extra value.

Crissi ~ The last cruise I put my door signs inside a clear document protector sheet (the kind that is open at both ends and goes into a three ring binder), used clear tape to seal one end and put magnetic strips on the back.
Doing it this way you can change the sign everyday without having to buy magnetic sheets. You can also interchange vertical or horizontal signs. (Yup! I'm cheap) :rotfl2:

Kimberly
~ Great signs.....I loved the old picture one.:thumbsup2
About the 1'-2' magnetic sheets. How does this actually work?

Drea ~ Thanks for the chills and thrills this morning looking at the Magic.:worship:

Julie ~ Hang in there:flower3: Everything will come together for you.

Question of the Week

What is your ideal (localish) evening? ie--you are planning an evening (or afternoon or whatever) out. This can be a splurge--you don't care if tickets to whatever it is you want to do are high. But, no fair hopping a plane to WDW or Vegas, etc (now if you live nearby:rolleyes1) So, when you have the time and the money what is it you really like to do if you get to plan for YOUR OWN ENJOYNMENT (will you take in a ball game, a movie, a concert, stay home, play golf . . .)???

I'm cheap also:thumbsup2 I have done the same thing. I have also made daily signs to slide in there which are really backgrounds for a scrapbook. I may have a few stickers or some writing in boxes which will later hold photos right over the stikers, etc. It makes putting an album together when we get home quick and easy (not that I am anywhere near that organized for this cruise:eek: )

Well, I know MY answer: In the summer time I would head North to my favourite restaurant (I love to eat out) called CAMP. It has memorabilia from lots of local camps and the BEST food--lots of very unique menu items.
After dinner we would head to one of the many professional summer theatre companies in the Lakes Region to see a show. If I were going out tonight I'd see The Full Monty in Lincoln:) During the rest of the year I would need to head south to Manchester or Boston for the best theatre (and if money is not an object I am going for a pricey show;) ) and I would have stop at Margaritas for yummy Mexican food and drink along the way.

I can Guess Dave's answer: I think he would either:
Pick up some nice bottles of wine, a selection of imported cheeses, fresh fruit, bread, etc. and invite a few friends over for a casual evening of good food, good wine and good conversation (he tends to be a home body if he can't go AWAY on vacation)
OR
Head to Boston for dinner at the Barking Crab (Lobster Bisque) and to see The Blue Man Group.

I'll ask the kids later and post their answers.

Brilliant idea with the sheet protector!!! I never even thought of that!

The 1'x2' sheet has wax paper on the top that you peel back and stick your paper on. The key is that you don't want to pull all the wax paper off. start with like 2" peeled back, position your paper so it's square on the magnet, then slowly peel the wax paper off as you apply the paper down.

That's a great price at Wal-Mart!

Wow. You guys bought that up fast. By the time I clicked on it, it said "Not sold online" and "Not sold in stores"..Oh well! ;)

Crissi and Kimberly your magnets are very nice!!!:thumbsup2

I finally got my thousands of backgrounds and clip art and fonts ready and organized to start working on the personalization. (YES thousands! 1,648 files to be exact in my magnet folder!...and some of those are RAR's with a ton of images inside) It's going to be so hard to narrow them down, but I'm thinking some of us will hvae some with very similar backgrounds...;) (Kari has such good stuff in her bucket)

I went ahead and installed the Gimp program to start editing them but it seems really difficult so far. I had to install a trial of Adobe Illustrator too (for something else ...shhhhh, it's a secret!:goodvibes ), but i'm hoping I can just download another trial of PSE6. It's so easy! If not...I always have word!:rotfl:

Drea, you lucky duck, you. How exciting, I'll bet the boys just LOVED seeing the Magic like that!

We're pretty dull. I guess I'd have to say if money was no factor to rent a room out at the Don CeSar or Vinoy on St. Pete Beach or any of the other beaches up the Pinellas coast...spend the day out on the beach and in the pool drinking fruity foo-foo drinks with umbrellas, eat grouper sandwiches for lunch from Frenchy's, The Hurricane, or Gators on the Pass (depending on location), back out to the beach....hand dipped ice cream from the Candy Kitchen on Madeira Beach in the afternoon...sunset sitting on the beach, then out to dinner at Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa or The Wine Cellar on Mad Beach. (Born & raised here and never been to either of those!) And we would be doing all this with a BABYSITTER all day..I think that may be the best part! (Hmmm I noticed that I mentioned the food a lot. Weightloss challenge going not so well  )

Welcome to DVC.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We bought our membership on the Magic this past New Years Eve cruise. Thinking about buying more points this cruise will see what they offer. We are on the 3 day special Magic cruise before the 27th cruise and we are using our DVC points to pay for that:cool1: :cool1:
