YUP I got to see the Magic in all her glory leaving out of San Pedro today! ​

That's just awesome!!! I get all excited just thinking about driving into WDW each time we go, I can just imagine how you felt seeing the ship right there!!! Cool, cool, cool.

Question of the Week

What is your ideal (localish) evening? ie--you are planning an evening (or afternoon or whatever) out. This can be a splurge--you don't care if tickets to whatever it is you want to do are high. But, no fair hopping a plane to WDW or Vegas, etc (now if you live nearby) So, when you have the time and the money what is it you really like to do if you get to plan for YOUR OWN ENJOYNMENT (will you take in a ball game, a movie, a concert, stay home, play golf . . .)???

Hmmmmm .... That's a tough one for us. We love just a night at home (everyone on their own laptop ) watching the scifi channel, but we also love going to the Fabulous Fox Theater to see a Broadway musical. Yeah ... I'll take either one.

I know there are a few of us staying at Pop Century Resorts the week before the cruise. If you didn't know, someone has put together a DIS Meets for Wednesday, September 24 starting at 9:00 pm by the Hippy Dippy Flower pool. The organizer says "LOOK FOR THE LIME LIGHTS BY THE POOL".

Between the Pop FAQ thread and the Meets thread, there appear to be quite a few people from the DISboards who will be there the week of Sept 22. I'm going to TRY to make it.

Speaking of meets... anyone staying at the Country Inn and Suites pre cruise.... We will be there the 25th around 7pm. Friday Hitting the Kennedy Space center but maybe we can meet in the Breakfast area Fri Morning.. or even Thursday night.. is there a bar there? (I know you would think I would know this huh... off to find out now!) LOL

*** Or for that matter if your just staying in Port Canaveral/Cocoa Beach area.... maybe we can meet somewhere for Dinner on Friday?*** Just throwing out idears!

Question of the Week

I have two answers. Because I live only 40 mins from WDW property, I could say that my perfect evening would be a trip out to Epcot with dinner at one of the nice restaurants, watching the fireworks and then staying the night at one of the fancy schmancy resorts.

Now, what is more in our means at the moment AND something we do fairly regularly is to head to our favorite little hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant with a few close friends, Stefanos, and have a wonderful calorie-laden meal topped with espresso and the best cannolis on the planet. After that, we would head back to the house (only about 5 minutes to drive) and play a board game or Rock Band.

Come to think of it, we might have to do it again this weekend.

Thank you for posting this....it reminded me. I finished printing and cutting all the lanyard name badges yesterday (Sunday.....YEAH!!! ) and am now in the process of sorting and organizign them for distribution.

On my current spreadsheet are still a number of gty travel parties with no room numbers yet. I know that DCL should start assigning some stateroom #'s in the very near future.....so if you are on my lanyard list and you were a gty....please be sure to keep checking for when you get a room # and once you get it, send it to me so that I can make sure I have it documented.

Here is a little thought for all to think about... I have always cruised with a large group of DISer's and have always had a group photo taken of us by the cast members...they are more than willing to do this because its $$$ for them...Since we have such a large group...we can take the photo on the deck in the back of the ship...not sure what floor its on...we have done this before with 85 people and the photo comes out great...I will scan a copy of it if you would like to see what I'm taking about...
we would need someone to organize this both with the group and the photo staff...any takers??????

Denise...the COVE is the adults only bar area...there are no TV's there...you are thinking about the sports bar....maybe you can escape from the children for a little while....they are gonna love the club!!!

Ladies.......

I am officially obsessed with looking for dresses on ebay. If you don't have your formal or semi-formal dresses I strongly recommend looking there. I just got a tea length red chiffon strapless number that was worn once by a bridesmaid for TEN DOLLARS. It's in excellent condition. Some are new with tags! I am searching again just for something to replace all of my boring semi-formal stuff! But most of them are selling for under $30 and about $10 shipping.

Search either "bridesmaid" and your size (generally one higher than usual dress size, depending on the manufacturer, but most list actual measurements) or by "formal dress" plus your size. I have about 8 that I am currently watching.

I love a bargain.

That sounds like a good idea. I have also seen it done inside where the group is on the bottom floor (3) of the atrium and the photo is taken from above..(Deck 4 or 5). That would work well if we have inclement weather.
(Though it would be hard to keep others from walking in/by the group and getting in the photo. I wonder if the other Dis Meet group had theirs done at 3:30 AM to avoid that problem! )

We have been discussing our next cruise a lot lately. I was curious for those of you planning to rebook on board what are your thoughts? We like to cruise at this time of year so we are looking at Easterns in Oct and Westerns in Sept/Oct. Hard to decide, the prices are very similar.

I have also seen it done inside but the photo from the rear of the boat is amazing....plus there are no worries about people walking by....someone can also make a banner with our group name and dates of sailing...

Not sure if we will rebook onboard, I HOPE SO! I really like the Easter that is the same week as ours next year, Sept 27-Oct 5, now I just have to get Dh to agree
I am trying to talk DH into booking a Cat 11, its much cheaper than the Cat 6!
