Hi Everyone,

It's been NUTTY since the kids got home - and trust me - don't do a house renovation at the same time the kids are comign home and just before a trip when half your staff is leaving for college and then gain like 15-20 lbs worth of water weight and end up on water pills and have a million tests to see what's wrong and worst than whatever could be wrong - now nothing fits!!!!!!!...I NEED A VACATION!!

First - I'm working on the treasure map tonight - PLEASE - if you want to be included - please PM me ASAP!!

Second - Gustav looks like it's making a direct hit to GC. I can't even begin to get caught up on posts - anyone know what will happen if we can't go there? My dh calls me JWW - the Jewish Weather Worrier...and believe me, I'm JWWing!!!

Third - crap. I forgot what 3rd is/was.

I'll be back.

I need booze. LOL.

From what has been reported, I believe Grand Cayman did not receive any major damage.

If you do have a system you want to sale, please PM with your price and shipping fees and we will discuss. I'm not sure how much he will play or pay attention to it but want something for the long car ride down. Thanks.

From what I read about Grand Cayman's damage, the news report went something like this:

"Two people fell over when they were trying to take pictures of the waves, but no other injuries have occurred because of Gustav"

It sounds like, people wise, it didn't do much damage. Haven't read any reports about serious damage either...

In the middle of Texas, it looks like our zoo day may get cancelled Thursday because of rain...Reese & I always go to the zoo the first week of September because the schools haven't started taking their field trips yet & we have the entire zoo almost to ourselves.

Anyone else in harm's way by Gustav? Elliotts_Mommy--keep us posted on how you're holding up

I'm sitting here in my living room with DM and DGM. DGM has never seen the Travel Channel DCL show, so we're watching it right now.

After we got through the bit on the restaurants, Grandma asked "Now on Monday is when we go to Palo for brunch, right?"

"Yep!"

"Oh good! I can't wait for all that seafood!!" she said.

Then I said "So we go to Palo for brunch anddddddd......." as I stared at them. Then it hit me!!!! Why tell them that we got Palo dinner reservations?!! I'll let it be a surprise!!! BRILLIANT!

My dress was a bit of a surprise. I pulled it out of the bag to try on, and looked at it...and looked at it....

"Oh! I didn't remember choosing the red version of the fabric. I know I was debating between that one and the one I got, but I guess I forgot."

They started laughing. "Well, we decided to make a practice dress first! We went back and bought the red fabric."

Sooooo...I LOVE the red!! I'm going to end up with two beautiful dresses!! I guess I'll just book another cruise to get use out of the second one!

Well, just driving by to share my excitement. I'll catch up with the posts tonight!

I feel like a loser. Here I am bellyaching about my house being redone for fun, my kids being home, my ever-swelling ankles and whether or not we'll make it to Grand Cayman and there are people who will, maybe for the second time, lose everything.

I will not complain. Ever. Again.

I can't even believe they're upgrading this storm to a Cat5. Absolutely unbelievable.

On another note. Has anyone received any cruise documents?

Tell me about it....I taught 1st grade and boy, my first year was rough! I caught every single bug out there, even though I washed my hands like a mad woman & kept antibac gel on my desk for using always! After that first year, it wasn't as bad, so I think I got used to it. Now the last time I remember being sick was about 4 years ago when Reese was 1! Knock on wood....

That's good to know. The past two Christmases we've debated buying one for Reese. Was it worth the $$? I think this year Santa will for sure bring one. We're on the plane every 6 weeks or so, and I would love to squeeze in extra educational stuff whenever possible

I would offer Megan's to you, but you would have to wrestle her to the ground for it.

Rhonda and I bought these for the girls the same year when they were 3. We were just talking about how it was some of the best money we ever spent! Megan is 5 and still loves it and plays with it all the time. We make sure we have it for trips and even at church during practice each week.

I just finished printing off all my door signs! I have most of them cut out and bought the magets for the back today! One more thing soon to be off my list!

I've also spent the last couple of days going through all the designs I've collected over the last 15 months and compiled them into a door sign file (that I've already printed ) and a T-shirt pile. I've added the personal stuff to the designs, purchased and washed all the t-shirts. Now I'm just waiting for the transfers to arrive.

Stay safe Elliot's Mommy and family! I can't even imagine being anywhere near a Cat 5 Hurricane! I've been through some Cat 2's and 3's, but nothing as bad as a 5!

I knew I forgot something....Lois--your grandson is VERY talented!! I remember when I was in 4th grade, we had to draw a picture of a bluebonnet (the TX state flower). I got in trouble, actually got in TROUBLE because my picture was so horrible. I tried! I was eight for goodness sake. To this day, I can't draw worth a lick, and that horrible art teacher (thank you Mrs. Blankenship) is burned into my memory!

Your grandson, on the other hand, is AMAZING! Thanks for sharing the pictures!
