Hey! Anyone miss me? LOL!! Life has been a bit busy around here, and I've not had the chance to check in. Did I miss anything good?

Good morning!

I have to tell you that I've been in tears much of this morning. A local CBS morning news anchor, Heather Pick, passed away yesterday at my age, age 38, of breast cancer. I didn't even watch her that often, but you could tell that she had a wonderful spirit. After watching today's 5am-7am newscast (I had recorded to watch later this morning) that was a tribute and celebration of her, I am just in awe of what a wonderful person...wife, mother, friend, and professional...she really was. Not that you would remember, but she's good friends with Jack Hanna, so he would sometimes let her travel with him to NYC for the David Letterman show. So she would sometimes be seen on camera on Dave's show bringing out animals. Anyways, her passing has really hit me.

I never even knew she had breast cancer until 2 years ago when I had a scare. I saw her story in a brochure at my surgical oncologist's office. One would never had known that she had been going through treatments. What an amazing, selfless person! So I'm going to take this opportunity to remind all you women out there to not overlook exams and be a good friend, mom, sister, and daughter and encourage those loved ones to do this too. A self exam is how I discovered I had a lump. I was very forutunate, and I want the same for all of you!!! :grouphug:

Oh, that's so sad, Kimberly. My mom is a 13-year breast cancer survivor.

Hey all finally up and recovered from the Marine Corps Ball. We went on Thur and well partied a bit to hard LOL, since we had a room at the hotel where the ball was we knew we only had to walk home so the drinks were flowing... on top of that Friday was my bday, so I would buy a drink for E for it being his Bday (the Marine Corps that is lol) and he would buy one for me for mine. Suffice to say Friday morning was not fun, drinking like your 21 then waking up and remembering OH ya im 31 I feel it now LOL.

Heres a few pics we dont get the profes ones back for a few weeks. (usually we get them back same night digitally... not with this company they used)

E & I

Table saved for those marines that are no longer with us, and gave the ultimate sacrafice.

Not an ebay find but almost as good Erica, $20 at Ross last yr. NOW when I found it last yr all I needed to do was loose 5-10lbs for it to fit comfortable. Well that never happened being we went on the cruise and I only lost what I put on from the cruise.. so the whole night i was having trouble breathing, E kept asking me if I need the oxygen mask LOL (it gathered at the side so it helped camoflauge my figure LOL)
and I dont look drunk at all huh :rotfl2: and notice I still have my cruise tan

Arin hope your feeling better soon, I had all day sickness with both my boys for 6months. it sucked. I up until this am thought we may have brought some magic home with us too. :rolleyes1 But thankfully you were the only one that was dusted with pixi dust LOL.:worship:

Cool pictures, Drea!!!!! And ... that dress fits you looks great on you!!!

It's hard to believe that I may have a Marine at the ball next year. He swore in last Monday, and his *tentative* ship date is September 10. He really wants to ship before then, though. We'll see.

And you never know .... I had a cycle with 2 of my pregnancies ...... ;)

Good morning DIS Family -

If any of you meant to get Christmas cards onboard but ran out of time (like me). Check out Disneyphotopass.com. I scanned and uploaded one of our family pictures from the cruise and used it to make Christmas cards there. I thought they were reasonable for photo cards ($16.95 for the first set of 20, $14.95 for sets after that). Here is ours:

Crissi

Cute card, Crissi!!!! I might have to check on those ....

Thanks for the well wishes ladies. I am feeling a little bit better the last couple of days. I have actually kept a couple of meals down and am getting some strength back.

I have my first ultrasound on friday the 14th, so i will know for sure how far along I am.

Oh, so glad you're feeling a little better. I can't wait to hear about the u/s.

Kimberly, here are some of the menus that I promised. I have to get the rest off of my memory card. They are in no order though...sorry!

 Anyone can be at risk, so do what you can to prevent.

Very true! Even men!! A male friend of mine has a male friend who got breast cancer. If I recall correctly, 1% of men get it. No one is exempt.

Thanks for the well wishes ladies. I am feeling a little bit better the last couple of days. I have actually kept a couple of meals down and am getting some strength back....

That's great news! I'm sure you're very anxious for Friday to come! :goodvibes Keep us posted on how you feel and the official due date!

Me! Me! I missed ya! One big thing you missed is that Arin announced she had a stow-away on-board who is currently making her green. Another big piece of news is that Amy has a wedding date now!

CONGRATULATIONS on your mom's fight! That's wonderful news that she's a long-time survivor!

Oh THANK YOU!!! I had thought about reminding you, but either on this and/or the WB TA thread, you had mentioned that you were just getting to your pictures. So I was going to give you a little more of a grace period!

LOL!! Nope ... didn't miss Arin's announcement. I got in on that one - I think that was my last post.

Yippee on the wedding date for Amy and Dave (right?!)!!!!!

Thank you! I'm very proud of her. She had a radical mastectomy in 1995 and never looked back! LOL!

I just have to get the other memory card put onto a CD and I'll be set! Sadly, the last week has been a haze with my tooth and the pain so today was the first day I even thought about posting them!

Yup...it's Dave! We're getting married on October 17, 2009.

By the way, we have a wedding site so if you want to see it, PM me and I'll send you the link. :thumbsup2

Sweet, pain-free dreams! :cloud9:

Oh, so glad!!!!!!! I hope you feel MUCH, MUCH better after your nap. :)

Thank you so much! The nap did help...I was loopy because of the anaesthesia. It was funny, before I went out I was looking at the ceiling thinking...'oh dear I hope the medicine is going to put me out, I don't feel sleepy' than suddenly the ceiling started to spin and BOOM, I was out like a light! :faint: LOL! I did wake up pretty quickly though...but I was loopy! My mom drove me and we stopped at McDonalds and I got a milkshake and it was so good!!!!! :)

I was able to eat a soft but normal dinner. So I'm doing ok...:)

Happy Veteran's Day, Everyone!

Thanks to all of you who serve, have served, have family who serves or support those who serve our country and keep us safe!:goodvibes
