"Double Dip Delight" 09.27.2008 - Chapter 4!

I am definitely jealous of all of you who booked the TA. I would LOVE to but there is no way with the kids...........oh well, maybe in the years to come!

Hopefully we will all meet up again on one cruise (or cruise line) or another.

Anyone have any good feedback bringing kids on other cruise lines?

Crissi, I wish you would be joining us!!!! You and Denise were so much fun! We'll have to plan to get together sometime since we all live so close to each other!!!!!

How much does the open Atlantic effect motion on the ship?

The first night of our double dip as a reference?

Honestly the ship was barely even MOVING that night on the double dip in comparison to our experience on the ship headed on the eastbound transatlantic last year! The water was VERY choppy and the ship moved a LOT....there is no comparison. (If you look through some of hte old threads at our thread from that cruise you can find pictures where the motion of the boat was sending waves in the goofy pool that nearly emptied it at one end and threw the water sloshing a god 6 to 8 feet in the air at the other end.) It was VERY rough seas!! (although i don't know if that was typical or not).

Now that said.....we loved it anyway...and we officially booked the last Med and the Westbound TA today...we're in cabin # 6584 for both trips....24 days on the Magic, here we come!!

Crissi, this is a reason why we arent doing it... kids and so much time out of school.. went to lunch with E today and almost had him.. till I said its during school time, and P would be in Jr high then (am I really going to be that old in 2yrs LOL) ugg but its tempting.

Hmm Erica, I have a quote coming from Dreams... still waiting on it.. for a cat 6 (i was nosy and told her to go for it.. lol maybe it will be just me and E on it LOL)

Hey Shell !!! don't worry.. I don't think Brittany will be going on TA WB so you don't have to worry about Jared being forced into taking some R & R from the Marines!!!

ROTFL!!!!! That's a good thing. I surely don't see us doing a TA at this point.

I'm just hoping for another Disney cruise. BUT we're all kind of picky. We want it within the next year. If it happens, great! If not, that's fine, too. We'll do it again at some point.

Jared left today to go take the ASVAB and to have his physical done. We're still waiting to find out if he's going to get in as a 'graduate' or not.

Congrats to everyone who got their reservations secured today!! Erik, big congrats to you and Jason!

I'm thrilled for all of you on the TA...jealous for me! Who knows what might happen between now and then...if I can do it, I certainly will! I have a mileston (gulp) birthday that year. I was thinking about Hawaii, but maybe this can be an alternative....hmmmmmmmmm. I hadn't thought of that until just now!

OMG! Dave and I did the jet skies. If anybody was on the 1pm tour with us, I was the slow one in the back who nearly crashed into the buoy by the Flying Dutchman!

Don't feel too bad. I was by far the last person in our group on Friday at 10:00. Just ask Denise, Kathy, and Paul!

I agree! The two of them are a hoot (you were, too, Amy and SO many others here!) and I really wish there would be another opportunity for this group to sail together.

I agree the first night of our DD was nothing compared to the Wed night prior that was rough but only lasted a couple of hours we had some really high winds. On our NYE07 cruise we sailed in 30-40 foot seas for two days now that was rough they even closed deck 10 and most of deck 9.

My friend's son, in NJ, went today to for the physical and whatever else they do to them too.. He is joining the Navy.. 8 weeks of boot camp in Jackville Florida will be in his future..

Well, I booked my family on the WB Trans and my parents booked the EB Trans...
I had Disney check airfare and for the EB it is $600 a person and the WB is 1066 per person. Does anyone know what the difference is? Why is mine so much higher?
I can not get off for the EB or I would switch it. I do not think I can swing an additional 4K in airfare.

I am glad you were are able to get what you wanted! If I could I would book at TA cruise, but April and Sept not possible with kids, and since I LOVED the sea days that would be awesome, OHHHHH I have an idea, I can leave Steve and the kids home and room with MagicMe or Kimberly

I actually did just request a quote from DU for a single. Looking at DCL, I about fell over at how cheap it is. Even once you add airfare and a hotel in Barcelona, it may not be as bad as I thought. No committments, but we'll see. Now Stacy is out though....I'm sad! Save the day, Denise!

Yeah ... ever heard the song "Find Your Wings" by Mark Harris??? I'm hearing it a lot lately. I'm really proud of him, though. He's made a very mature decision and has done everything to get what he wants.
